  • Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? April 2023 Review: Dr Fridel was great throughout my pregnancy and during labor. I liked that she is part of a small practice - 5 doctors total - at Weill Cornell in TriBeCa and Brooklyn Heights. I met all of the other doctors and would have been comfortable delivering with any of them, though ended up delivering with Dr Fridel, whom I got to know well over the course of my pregnancy. She and her team were always responsive to messages and calls with any questions, guiding me through the pregnancy.y labor and delivery experience at NYP downtown was pretty smooth and much better than my first delivery four years ago with a larger practice at NYU where I didn’t feel like I had a relationship with the doctors at the time of delivery.

Dr. Fridel - Was my doctor for the delivery. LOVED her. She was assisting with C-section at the beginning of my labor so she only came to me for the last hour. I wasn't loving the attending physician and within 20 minutes of Dr. Fridel taking over, my boy was in my arms. She was the perfect amount of encouragement, motivation, energy to get us past the finish line.

Straightforward. Presents scenario and her opinion, but leaves decisions to me as her patient
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Dr. Fridel has been my gynecologist for years and I stuck with her as my OB for the birth of my first child. She is a very warm person and remembers details from my personal life, always asking me about my job and family. I chose to have a hospital birth, but wanted to have as few medical interventions as possible. I would say Dr. Fridel is moderate in terms of her views on medical interventions. In our discussions about my birth plan, she would stress that there were circumstances in which she would recommend interventions. But her goal was to help me have the vaginal birth I wanted, and she supported my decision to not have an epidural. I was lucky enough to get her as my attending at the hospital and she was a great coach for me during pushing. I ended up having the birth experience I had hoped for, and was grateful for her support and skill.

She is wonderful. Based on a May 2017 birthing experience
