  • seeking pediatric dentist

+1 for Zev Tendler. Our kids love him and everyone in the office. They do some Sundays too.
  • seeking pediatric dentist

I second Zev Tendler. Great experience with kids. Both my kids enjoy going to him (7 and 3). Scheduling is tough. Open 6 days a week but very busy. We had to cancel checkup in august and next available was in October. I’m sure for emergency they would fit you in. Open on sundays but really hard to get those slots.
  • seeking pediatric dentist

I can't speak to price because he is covered by our insurance but we see Dr. Zev Tender and he makes the experience so enjoyable our 7yo son actually looks forward to dentist appointments. He's really great and does a great job, doesn't seem to do anything extra or unnecessary. He's very popular so may be hard to get an appointment but he is available all week I think.
  • Dentist for 3yr Old

We had a great experience w Zev Tendler's office in BK heights--our 3-year-old just went for his first appointment and loved it.
  • Pediatric dentist recommendations

Dr. Zev Tendler. Excellent. Near Borough Hall. Been patients since girls were about 2 - All of them have fallen and knocked their teeth at various times, and been very impressed how practice has monitored the injured teeth over many years. Cheerful and efficient office, girls look forward to going.
  • Pediatrics dentist recommendations in Park Slope

We have seen Dr Tendler who is amazingly wonderful and patient and kind. He sings through the whole exam.
  • ISO Kids Dentist for a 7 Year Old

We like Dr Zev Tendler who is based in Brooklyn Heights. (718) 624-5437 They have a very clean office and are being very careful with keeping appointments spaced apart. They are very popular so we have had to schedule appointments some time ahead - and I can’t speak to whether they take your insurance. Everyone in the office is very pleasant and Dr Tendler has a great manner and puts kids at ease. Ours have been very happy going there - as much as anyone can be visiting a dentist!
  • Rec for pediatric dentist/ first ever visit

I would also highly recommend the office of Zev Tendler and Keren Etzion. They have both been absolutely wonderful with my 7yo, we’ve been going there for over 3 years. They were very responsive during an after hours bump to kiddo’s adult teeth and squeezed us in to check out any potential damage.
  • Rec for pediatric dentist/ first ever visit

Zev Tendler is the best!! He is now in Brooklyn Heights on court street, but it is worth the trip.
  • Dentist

Seconding Dr Tendler and Dr Etzion. My 5-year old LOVES going to see Dr Etzion — she literally was shouting to strangers in joy on the subway about her most recent trip to the dentist. Also they were recommended by a family friend who is a highly regarded adult dentist.
  • Dentist

I can’t recommend dr tendlers pediatric dentistry of Brooklyn office high enough. They’re a little further away, but we tried two different PS offices and much prefer this one. We see Dr Etzion and she’s really great. My 6 year old has been going for a while now, first for an emergency visit and for regular checkups since. I plan to start taking my son when he’s a little older. http://pdofbrooklyn.com/

We also see Dr. Tendler and love him!
  • Chipped tooth / pediatric dentist rec?

My 5 year old sees Dr. Zev Tendler on Court St in Brooklyn Heights, he is gentle and easy going. We really like him, and my son actually enjoys going to dental appointments. http://pdofbrooklyn.com/

We go to Zev Tendler in downtown BK for my older daughter and Sammy just had his first appointment. He takes insurance and is wonderful.
  • [Winter2016Babies] Pediatric Dentist

We go to Zev Tendler in downtown BK for my older daughter and Sammy just had his first appointment. He takes insurance and is wonderful.
  • Dentist for 2 y/o

We also went to Zev Tendlers office and saw Sara (?) another dentist who works there. She was awesome. My 2 y/o son had an amazing time and came home with a bunch of little toys. He is way more interested in brushing his teeth since that visit!
  • Dentist for 2 y/o

    Zev Tendler is the best.
  • Dentist for 2 y/o

I second the recommendation for zev - my son had a great time there!
  • Dentist for 2 y/o

Highly recommend Zev Tendler on Court St if he is seeing new patients. He was the 4th dentist we saw (my older one is a tough customer). He is funny and sings silly songs. Fabulous office staff. And Sunday hours, which I love. (But you the waitlist is months-long for those appts.).
  • Dentist for 2 y/o

We went to the office of Zev Tendler after many positive recommendations. We had a great first dental appt with our 18 month old. However, Dr Tendler is no longer accepting new patients and we had to book months in advance to see his partner. They have very limited hours and are in high demand. But it was great, our son seemed to like it, and she actually was able to clean his teeth with some instruments! They only do pediatric dental care so they really know what to do. Great experience for a nervous baby and parents!
  • [Fall2016babies] Dentists

Seconding Dr. Tendler. He is the BEST. My daughter actually looks forward to going to see him! We didnt start until she was about 3.
  • [Fall2016babies] Dentists

    Dr. Zev Tendler is excellent!
  • [Fall2016babies] Dentists

We also love Dr. Tendler. Our previous dentist claimed my daughter had a cavity, so I took her to Dr. Tendler for a second opinion. He found no cavities. I highly respect his opinion and gentle methods. Plus his office uses the latest digital x-ray equipment.
  • [Fall2016babies] Dentists

I take my older daughter to Zev Tendler on Court St. it's a little further but we love him. He's so patient, remembers us, and is respectful of the kids. I start d taking her at around 2.5, and probably will do the same for my second, now almost 1.
  • [PSP Stay At Home Parents] Dentist Recommendations

We're fans of Tendler! He is very slow and gentle with our 3 year old (she was 2 when we first started seeing him.) he explains everything and takes his time to make her feel at ease, as does the hygienist. He also remembers us visit to visit and makes us feel very welcome. His office is close to most transit.
  • [PSP Stay At Home Parents] Dentist Recommendations

We are very happy with Zev Tendler. He has a new associate dentist whom my boys just had an appointment with and she was excellent as well. They have great front staff, modern technology, great hygienists, and a very child friendly space and approach. Good prices and insurance friendly too! 32 court st- easy to get to.
  • ISO Pediatric Dentist/Endodontist Recommendations & Feedback

I also recommend Dr. Tendler. He is amazing. He is very good with children and does go above and beyond. He is super responsive when we have questions and won't ask you to come in unnecessarily. For some reason, my son has had all sorts of issues even though he doesn't eat sweets, and we ended up seeing Dr. Tendler when he was still in Park Slope three years ago. Someone miraculously cancelled their appointment and we were able to see Dr. Tendler who took care of my son with an emergency teeth extraction and root canal! When he moved his practice to Brooklyn Heights, we went to Brooklyn Heights for treatment. His office is right off the 2/3/4/5 Boro Hill subway stop. His office is new, and everyone in his office is super helpful and friendly.
  • Re: ISO Pediatric Dentist/Endodontist Recommendations & Feedback

I cannot recommend Dr. Zev Tendler enough. He is absolutely the best pediatric dentist in the area. Many people on the list recommend him and use him. In addition, my son had serious tooth injury recently and Dr. Tendler went above and beyond what was expected. The care he had provided during this difficult time was unbelievable (including following up at midnight on the status of the ER visit). He used to be in Park Slope, but he recently opened his new office in Brooklyn Heights off Court Street.
  • Dr. Zev Tendler (dentist)

I'd like to provide a wholeheartedly positive review for Dr. Tendler and his office staff. My children (ages 5 and 3) look forward to going to the dentist, and he is incredibly kind, thorough and fun. The staff are amazingly welcoming and friendly, and our appointments have always been on time. His office moved to downtown Brooklyn from Park Slope but we find it's worth it because he's so great. While he has Sunday office hours, those appointments can be very hard to get. This has been the only challenge, as working parents, but we still make it work.
  • [Summer2016Babies] local pediatric dentist?

I can second the endorsement for Dr. Tendler. He's a bit of an odd duck (we were just there yesterday and he was singing some sort of smooth jazz version of the ABC song while he looked at my son's teeth) but my 4 year old loves going to the dentist so he's clearly doing something right.
  • [Summer2016Babies] local pediatric dentist?

Dr Zev Tendler in downtown Brooklyn is the BEST! I didn't take my daughter until she was 2 though. She actually loves going to the dentist (because she gets to watch Doc McStuffins and gets a sticker and toy at the end)!
  • [Summer2016Babies] local pediatric dentist?

Hi all, Dr. Tendler is not taking new patients
  • Review for Dr. Zev Tendler - Pediatric Dentist

I would like to submit my wholehearted and enthusiastic recommendation for Dr. Zev Tendler, of Pediatric Dentistry of Brooklyn at 32 court Street. I took my 2.5 year old to see him today for his very first dental appointment. I wasn't sure where to go and decided on Dr. Tendler based on recommendations on PSP. Dr. Tendler was warm and spoke to me clearly with a lot of empathy about everything I had questions about. Dr. Tendler was charming and sweet with my son and engaged him from the very first moment. He sang songs, distracted him with jokes, and showed my son all of his "cool tools." He checked all of my son's teeth and taught him how to check the teeth of the dino and the lion in his office. And when the slightly less comfortable parts came (cleaning and rinsing) he show my son how to "help" with the process and made him giggle every time it all became a bit too much. There was not a single tear in sight. As an adult with a long history of traumatic dentist experiences, I was overjoyed to see my son smiling in the dentist's chair.
  • ISO: Pediatric dentist

Zev Tendler! Court Street Brooklyn Heights amazing dr. Good luck!
  • ISO: Pediatric dentist

Dr tendler. Brooklyn pediatric dentistry or something like that. Was recommended to me by many many people and he's great. New office on court street.
  • Shout out for Dr. Zev Tendler, pediatric dentist

I've been reading the praises on PSP for Dr. Zev Tendler, pediatric dentist, for a while now, but never quite understood them. Then I took my almost 3 year old son for his first dentist visit. Dr. Tendler and his staff were amazing - kind, gentle, funny, accommodating, responsive. The office was friendly and, well, they had a play kitchen and Curious George on tv in the waiting room... The dentist managed to perform a full cleaning - flossing, brushing, fluoride treatment - on my son without a single tear or even a fuss or fight. I'm thoroughly impressed!! The office is in downtown Brooklyn by City Hall so it can be a full adventure! There's an office supply store downstairs with loads of toys. We were a little early so we bought a treat "to show Dr. Tendler," who kindly played along. Looking forward to seeing him again in 6 months (and hopefully not sooner, knock knock!).
  • Re: Shout out for a wonderful pediatric dentist

I also heartily recommend Dr. Tendler. My four year old recently had to have his front tooth extracted -- it was an old injury that had finally become infected. This might have been a rather traumatic or at least unpleasant experience, but Dr. Tendler was so incredible that my son now claims he wants to be a "pe-de-a-tric dentist!" when he grows up! His new office is great, as is his support staff. (Reviewed April 2015)
  • Re: Shout out for a wonderful pediatric dentist

I agree! My toddler had a similarly great experience. Dr. Tendler took a lot of time, entertained him the whole way, and helped me learn how to brush thoroughly despite toddler resistance. Also, the new office is comfortable and beautiful. And very subway accessible. (Reviewed April 2015)
  • Re: Shout out for a wonderful pediatric dentist

Our boys love Dr Tendler! But it actually kinda backfires: We can't warn them that if they don't brush, they'll have to go to the dentist. Great dentist. (Reviewed April 2015)
  • Re: Shout out for a wonderful pediatric dentist

Agreed, [Original Poster]! We took our son there yesterday as well, and had possibly the best dental experience ever. Dr. Tendler deserves his outstanding reputation. He was thorough and calm and engaging, and explained everything to us and our kiddo.(Reviewed April 2015)
  • Shout out for a wonderful pediatric dentist

I took my two kids (4 years old and 2 years old) to Dr. Zev Tendler yesterday morning and it was the BEST experience. The dental assistant, Kimberly, was warm and greeted my kids by name and put them both at ease. My 4 year old had been to a different dentist twice before and it was my 2 year old's first dentist appointment. Dr. Tendler made them comfortable by using puppets with teeth to show them everything he was going to do before he started, letting them sniff the toothpaste and singing Frozen songs with lyrics changed to dental hygiene facts. Again, a wonderful experience for both kids and he addressed my concerns regarding thumb sucking and overcrowding teeth in a warm and comforting manner. I have no affiliation, just a super happy customer. If you are in search of a dentist, he was great! (Reviewed April 2015)
  • Pediatric Dentist Recommendation/Question...

Here is the website for Dr Tendler's new practice - http://pdofbrooklyn.com. While I've enjoyed being within walking distance of him, he is definitely a trip on the subway to get to the new office!
  • Dr Zev Tendler, new office Pediatric Dentistry of Brooklyn

I took my year and a half old son to Dr. Tendler's new office for his first visit. The office is great - bright and colorful and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Dr Tendler was amazing with my little guy, immediately crouching right down to his level and making him laugh, and then sang throughout the whole examination. My son has some strange teeth issues (turns out he has an extra tooth!), and I am SO grateful that it was Dr. Tendler that he saw. Dr. Tendler is obviously incredibly knowledgeable about pediatric dentistry and he immediately spotted what the problem was and was able to explain all the information I needed. He told me not to worry, but when I inevitably did, he called me on his cell phone that evening and carefully went over all out options and offered to have us come back in for further conversation. I am so glad he is our dentist and I would highly recommend him to any other parent.
  • Re: ISO pediatric dentist who accepts Aetna

Dr. Robert Rosenkrantz’s dental practice - 718-499-5323 - on 3rd St nr 8th Ave takes our Aetna PPO plan. There is a different plan (the DMO) that they don’t take. They have a great pediatric dentist that we use- Dr Tendler. He is fairly booked up but worth waiting for.
  • Re: ISO Pediatric dentist that accepts Guardian

I really like Dr Tendler at the 3rd Street & 8th Ave practice, who my children go to, but don't feel the same way about the adult dentist there, Dr Rosenkrantz. He is always in a hurry, he misses things and his work is shoddy.
  • Re: [PSP] Do any pediatric dentists take insurance?

We see Dr. Tendler on 3rd St. He takes our MetLife Dental and he happens to be the best pediatric dentist ever (IMHO)
  • Re: ISO extended breast-feeding friendly pediatric dentist

I brought my nursing 2yo daughter to dr. Tendler last month and found him extremely supportive and just generally lovely. I highly recommend him. He was complimentary of our extended nursing. His whole office is lovely.
  • Re: ISO extended breast-feeding friendly pediatric dentist

We go to dr. Tendler and he has been great. Very nice & calm manner with our daughter. I nursed my daughter until 2.5 and never was an issue.
  • Re: ISO extended breast-feeding friendly pediatric dentist

I don't know if he's [specifically bf-ing supportive] but Dr Tendler has a wonderful dental chair manner. My daughter loves going to see him, and brushing her teeth is a huge struggle. Good luck.
  • Re: Pediatric Dentist

We love Dr Tendler on 3rd st and 8th ave (300 8th ave). The practice, Park Slope Dental, takes many/most insurances. He sings opera to the kids as hes giving a cleaning, my kids just love it. He also has rights at Columbia Pres if your child needs oral surgery, as mine did. He has been amazing and I only wish we found him sooner.
  • Re: [PSP] Pediatric Dentist in Park Slope?

I second the recommendation for Dr. Tendler and the office in general.
  • Re: [PSP] Pediatric Dentist in Park Slope?

I second the recco for Zev Tendler - caring, thorough, fun, approachable, brilliant chair side manner and follow-up care and communication is second to none.
  • Re: [PSP] Pediatric Dentist in Park Slope?

Dr Tendler is absolutely the best. Both my kids actually look forward to going. My daughter has even asked me several times in the last week when her next appt is- she can not wait to show him her first loose tooth!

My 5-yr-old goes to Dr. Tendler at that office, and he is great. He has a great way with kids, and really put my son at ease. He came out of the office singing the song that Dr. Tendler sang while he gave him a shot of Novocaine. November 2012

We had a great first visit for my son with Dr. Tendler. We found him through the PSP recommendations page. He is in the Park Slope Dental Practice, which also includes Dr. Rosenkranz, a very highly rated adult dentist in the neighborhood (on 3rd street and 8th avenue). Their insurance page includes the Empire logo. http://www.parkslopedental.com/insurances2.html I haven't been to see Dr. Rosenkranz myself but plan to when it's time for an appointment. August 2012

I recently posted looking for a pediatric dentist recommendations for my 2.5 year old and received several recommendations for Dr. Zev Tendler in Park Slope, who also has a number of very positive recommendations on the PSP site. We took my daughter to see Dr. Tendler yesterday for her first dentist visit and I now understand the high praise. He has a lovely manner with kids (sang Twinkle, Twinkle song while examining her teeth) and is silly at all the right moments, but more importantly very sharp. He took a good hour with us, asking and answering questions. I just wanted to let parents who are also in the market know that Dr. Tendler is - as advertised - excellent. In addition, he has Sunday office hours - a big plus if both parents want to get in on the initial dental appointment fun. And, as he is located on 8th Avenue and 3rd Street, you can head right to the playground afterward. (May 2012)

Dr Tendler was absolutely wonderful with my little lad (who has sensory issues). He really took his time, explained everything and made my son feels comfortable and cared for. (March 2012)
  • (no subject)

Wanted to just give a shout out for Dr Tendler. We just saw him today and he was great with my son. He took a good amount of time talking directly to my son and informed him what he was doing. He also spent a fair amount of time talking with my about my son's upcoming ENT appt and gave me some things to look out for. Anyway, I definitely recommend him! (March 2012)

My husband recently took our 5 year old who has some sensory issues to Dr Tendler (who sees patients on Sundays - a rare and welcome feature). While I wasn't there, it sounds like the primary technique was distraction via Cars movie and copious stickers "earned" for getting through each part of the exam... and it worked like a charm! We are so relieved to have found a dentist our son feels comfortable going to.

We too love Dr. Tendler--very silly. Called later in the evening to see if my son--who had a lot of work done--was feeling okay. I use Dr. Rosencraz at that practice and highly recommend him as well. (September 2011)

I 2nd this -- my 4 1/2 year old had a great visit with Dr Tendler and Kimberly last week. She still is telling people about it. He was great with her, asked me a lot of good questions and even spent a little time with my 1 1/2 year old. Everyone in the office is great plus they take my insurance (Aetna). (September 2011)

My daughter and I are picky, so we have been through four different dentists over the past few years. Some were OK, some were terrible. But I think we have found the best pediatric dentist, and he's right on 3rd Street. This is the first time we'd seen Dr. Zev Tendler, but he was extremely funny and made my daughter laugh non-stop while teaching her about her teeth, her gums, and her overall dental health. He was gentle and explained every single thing he did and every single tool he used. He addressed her, not just me. He was kind and clearly LOVES working with children. He answered all our questions with honesty and humor. He never tried to rush us out and he even sent me an email this morning asking me if I wanted any more information. His dental assistant, Kimberly, was so nice to my daughter and every single person in this office had a smile on their face. Does it get any better than that? I really can't say enough about Dr. Tendler and I just wish we'd found him years ago. (September 2011)
