Description
Woofs \'n Whiskers, The Urban Dog & Cat Retreat, has been serving pets in the local community for over ten years. In that decade we have become a fixture in the neighborhood. We live just blocks from Woofs with our young children and menagerie of rescued four-leggeds. In June 1998, we founded Four Paws Dog Walking Inc, which quickly earned a solid reputation and a loyal clientele in and around Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. In 2004, we became the proud owners of
Woofs \'n Whiskers.
Continuing in the tradition of the previous owners, we have worked to create a welcoming and compassionate urban retreat - a home away from home. Our philosophy is
\"the pet comes first.\" We tailor a day of rest and play to meet the needs of all of our guests. We offer an important balance between socialization and quiet time.
Together with our experienced, friendly staff, we invite your pet to join the extended family of animals and animal lovers at Woofs \'n Whiskers.

Q re Boarding CatsMy good friend Danielle runs Woofs 'n Whiskers, which boards cats as well as other services: https://www.woofsnwhiskers.com/services/boarding/cat-boarding.php Woofs 'n Whiskers 14 Coles Street Brooklyn, NY 11231 718-237-0298 She is amazing with all kinds of animals, and is one of Brooklyn's hurting small business owners.

Re: [PSP] Re: A good place for our dog to stay while we are on vacationWoofs n' Whiskers -- in Red Hook. I don't think they have another location, but they have room to run and they bring out a dog pool, and I know our dog is mostly outside when she's there (again, dayboarding).

Re: ISO Feedback on Woofs n Whiskers or Other Dog Boarding RecsCan't speak to them specifically for dog boarding, but I used them several times for their cat boarding services (including once for an almost 3 wk stint when we couldn't get into our new apt on time) and was very happy with them. They gave me regular updates and kitties seemed very happy, despite the long time being boarded for one of the times. Facility was clean, kitties didn't pick up any strange bugs or fleas, and I liked them much better than a couple of the more local options we tried.

(no subject)In these lean times, I want to provide the highest recommendation of Woofs N Whiskers in Red Hook. We have no connection to this business, other than that of a very pleased customer. Our dog has a coat that requires frequent trims and grooming, and we were very concerned when we first got her about stories we'd heard of rough, traumatic grooming. Since our dog was a puppy, we've taken her to Woofs N Whiskers for grooming, and not only do they do a beautiful job but our dog emerges with tail wagging happily, responding very nicely to the groomer. We have also boarded our dog at WNW, after having a bad experience at another local place that we prefer not to name. While the other place looked spotless, our dog came home from there every time with diarrhea, so there was clearly a bacteria problem somewhere. We drew it nicely to the attention of the owners, but got a very unsatisfactory response repeatedly. Finally, based on our good grooming experience as WNW, we decided to try them for weekend boarding. Perfect! Our doggy came home healthy and happy, tail a-wagging again. Danielle, the owner of WNW, is terrific and very responsive (although we've never even had occasion for any constructive criticism). All of her staff are equally terrific in our experience. Please do support this wonderful local business in these lean times. We don't know what we'd do without them! (September 2011)
