Program: Age: 4 and 7 Types of Program child-led forest/nature program in Prospect Park Review We could not recommend Wilder Park more highly! We LOVE the peaceful, respectful, child-led, inquiry-based, play-based, mixed-age approach and pedagogy and learn so much from the fantastic teachers, and our kids love it so much they’ve asked to only do this program for after school. The free play outside and the connection with nature coupled with the wonderful and peaceful pedagogy helps them thrive and gives them a great balance after the school day. They are happier and they sleep better too. Being outdoors in nature in all seasons has been a wonderful thing and the kids impress me with their knowledge of plants and nature. They pick up at our school, PS 133, as well as other schools if enough families request it, and take the kids to Prospect Park. There are different pick up times and locations at the end of the after school/holiday camp day. Skills Learned independence, leadership, autonomy, emotional regulation, communication, collaboration, respect, kindness, how to care for themselves, others, and nature, physical stamina Changes Anna, who manages the program, is amazing and so responsive and helpful. When we requested more convenient pick up locations, she made it happen. She always works with us to support our needs.Review from the Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 Afterschool Survey

Wilder Park has been a life changer for my family. My five year old was miserable last year in his school's traditional after school program. He does not do well with structured activities, especially after a full school day, having people tell him what to do. Wilder Park is a forest school after-school program with a small teacher to student ratio that picks kids up from PS 133. They also do summer and holiday break camps. Both my 5 year old and 8 year old love the teachers and love their time playing in Prospect Park. Since they've started attending Wilder Park, they've often surprised me with their knowledge of local plants and animals.
