Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? December 2022 Review: Dr. Jin is super thorough. She completed a full work up at every trimester, always responded and followed up as necessary. She was honest, respectful, timely and has a great personality.C-section experience at Alexandra Cohen/NYP Hospital
I will add Dr. Jin also held my son up immediately for me to see before bringing him over to do the APGAR test and hand him to my spouse. He was still on my chest within ten minutes. I can't recommend Dr. Jin enough!C-section experience at Alexandra Cohen/NYP Hospital
I had a C-section at NYP/Weill Cornell in 2020 and had a great experience with Dr. Jin. We didn't do a gentle c-section but I did get o hold my baby right after my partner did so within maybe 10 minutes after birth. I wanted a gentle c-section but in the end (it was a planned c-section) it was totally fine and I was just glad to have an amazing OB and NICU when we needed a 10 day NICU day. Our baby was one of the first in Cohen's brand new NICU the day is opened. We had excellent competent care there. You will be in good hands!Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? May 2022 Review: Dr. Jin is so calm, so competent, so delightful that she made the whole nine months almost (almost) fun. At the hospital I heard over and over again that she was the doctor the nurses picked when they were pregnant — and I can see why.Know of an OBGYN with an office in Brooklyn who delivers at either Alexandra Cohen or Weill Cornell?
I agree you need to look at UES OBs - I loved mine! Dr Wenhui Jin was phenomenal and delivers at Alexandra Cohen.Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
Dr Jin is exceedingly competent, has a sixth sense about pregnancy and delivery, and is wildly personable with a great sense of humor (her operating room team adores her, and I personally look forward to every appointment). Specifically about her knowledge though: - with my 1st baby, she started getting concerned the baby wasn't growing enough, by week 35-6, and started mentioning early induction. My husband and I were opposed, "give nature a chance, let the baby grow" kind of uninformed gut feeling crap. She gave us a couple of weeks, but by week 39 said that's it, I am inducing you at 40 because bad things can happen. Sure enough, at 39w5d, I had a placenta abruption, and a very tough recovery after an emergency c-section (not by her). All ended well, but in retrospect I am kicking my own ass for not listening to her - with my 2nd baby, she said at my age and with my history she recommends a c-section, and said you'll see, it will be nothing like he first, recovery will be easy. I thought to myself, whatever. Sure enough, at 39 weeks, she does a planned c-section, goes like a dream, and I heal perfectly, there was not even bruising around the incision (!!). - with a friend who delivered naturally, she basically said, ah, you'll push for 15 min and the baby will come out no problem. Guess what happened. - she also delivered the neighbor's twins, emergency, one was vaginal, the other c-section, mom and babies doing great. So in a nutshell - you should be so lucky to have her as your doctor. Good luck!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
She was great! She’st been my dr for years and always makes me feel comfortable. I wonder if she was overly cautious at times because of my age but overall it was a really good experience.Newly pregnant, need OB
I second the recommendation. My doctor is Dr Wenhui Jin (who is in the same practice as Dr Jamie Kramer) I initially thought she was a bit cold but she was extremely understanding, sympathetic and supportive after my first miscarriage. Due to scheduling conflict Dr Kramer performed my D&C and was great considering the circumstances. Dr Jin is very proactive about testing and keeping me informed at each stage of my pregnancy and always made time to answer my questions. (I had a lot of questions!) She would offer me her professional medical advice and also respectful of my decisions. I would say the only negative is that she is a very popular doctor and booked all the time so definitely make appts well in advance. The entire office of doctors and nurses are great. There’s never a guarantee you will deliver with your doctor and that was the case for me. I was induced due to issues with my placenta and Dr Boester (also in the same practice) delivered my daughter. She did a wonderful job and I felt safe during the delivery. I believe the three doctors there specialize in high risk and geriatric pregnancies (older than 35 yrs oldNewly pregnant, need OB
I recommend Dr. Jin (Dr. Wenhui H Jin). She delivered my twins and my baby girl. I had twins when I was 44. Dr. Jin was wonderful, we love her. I must say she saved my life. I had some complication when I was 7-8 months. She came to check on me many times when I was in the recover room and while in the hospital. I had c-sections for both deliveries. She’s very friendly and down to earth. I almost don’t notice my scar from the c-sections.Review submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
REVIEW: Dr Jin was the best! She made me feel so comfortable and well taken care of. She was very direct with me during the pregnancy and the birth (which I loved). I needed her to be realistic with me, and give me a reality check. She was right every time. I was wavering on whether I wanted an epidural and certain tests done, and she did not hesitate to give her opinion. For someone who trusts western medicine and wants a doctor who will give it to you straight. I had a long labor and some complications during the birth but Dr Jin was so on top of it that I never felt scared or out of control. She also made sure my husband was able to stay involved. INSURANCE Takes insurance, never had any issues with claims Based on a June 2015 birthReview submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
REVIEW: Very well run office, it was important to me that I wouldn't have excessive wait time for appointments or phone calls and they were almost always on schedule. If they were running behind, they communicated well and even provided snacks in the waiting room! Dr.Jin is very enthusiastic about babies and you can tell she really loves what she does. My first pregnancy with her, we had been through a series of miscarriages and she understood I was very nervous and anxious about everything and she went above and beyond to put us at ease. I would say she tends to be on the better safe than sorry side of things so leans to be conservative in practice. And I did end up with a c section twice but honestly think it was the correct decision to make given circumstances. One negative is, she's not great about postpartum follow up, I didn't even see her once during my 5 day hospital stay, just her fellow practice members. I really think she invests all her time and energy into pregnant mammas, so if you require a lot of input postpartum she may not be the right Dr. for you. INSURANCE Yes, all major carriers, no issues at all with paperwork, they're more organized than I am.(no subject)
Dr Jin rocks! She delivered both my babies via induction She put me at ease the entire time - her sense of calm was contagious for both myself and my husband. I couldn't reccomend her more highly. In fact I was thinking of waiting an extra day to get induced just to have jin deliver! That speaks volumes when you are past 40 weeks!!
