  • Re: questions about twin pregnancy resources

I also recommend Weill Cornell OB/MFM on the UES. I saw Dr. Landres for my mono/di twins and had a really great experience and my guys came early!
  • Re: questions about twin pregnancy resources

MFM on the upper west delivered my twins, my singleton and were incredibly gracious in managing my several miscarriages in between. Recommended them highly.
  • Re: questions about twin pregnancy resources

I also recommend MFM on the upper east side. All the doctors were extraordinary. Dr Fox was such a support to us. Dr Shlansky ended up delivering our twins who came at 35 weeks and we had some hurdles to overcome- both the kids and I. We couldn't have been in better hands. So grateful to them.
  • MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed

I had my second baby in September with MFM at Weill Cornell (Alexandra Cohen). I didn’t use them for my first baby but I had a complication post partum and my OB at the time said I needed to be considered high risk for subsequent pregnancies. Overall it was a good experience, not all that different from my first “non-high risk” baby.
  • MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed

I switched from an OBGYN to a MFM doctor so that I would have a doctor with admitting privileges at the Alexandra Cohen-NYP Hospital, which has a new maternity ward. There is one practice through Weill Cornell where it is all MFM, and I switched to the one who was taking new patients and had availability during my estimated delivery date. I believe generally anyone in the practice might be on call the day you deliver, and indeed I had a different MFM doctor who delivered my babe who was WONDERFUL, so it was serendipitous that my regular MFM was not on call that day. I actually found that the MFM had more time than the regular OBGYN, and a good friend who is also a MFM said that is because they are able to spend more time with their patients, per the time allotted for billing/insurance. And I was high risk for my age. I wish you luck, persistence is key, but had a very positive experience with the Weill Cornell MFM practice.
  • Looking for high-risk OB recommendation

Highly recommend the MFM practice at Weill Cornell. Dr. Vanderhaar was meticulous with my high risk care. She was so easy to talk to, warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Their practice also makes it so you only see the MFM, and don’t have to see a separate OB as I had to do with my first pregnancy. Not having to juggle two different doctors was a huge plus and made a significant difference with communication around high risk issues.
