ISO Good Back Doctor for Herniated Disc and Chronic Sciatica
I recommend Dr. Vincent Miccio who I saw at the NYP office on 6th Ave. He evaluated and treated my herniated disc with a steroid injection (and discussed multiple options with his rationale). There was sometimes a long wait for my appointments, but then I felt like he spent a lot of time with me when it was my turn. He’s a physiatrist and pain mgmt specialist and is definitely not surgery-forward. I’ve also seen his colleagues at this practice and location for follow up and had a good experience. For example, I went back with a pain flare and they diagnosed a weakness in my hip flexor from the prior herniated disc/pinched nerve and recommended specific exercises which helped.Recommendations for spine and back medical care

I saw Dr. Miccio for neck and back pain, and he's been super helpful and very responsive. His approach is thorough but he doesn't jump to invasive remedies right away unless absolutely needed. Highly recommend him for kind and knowledgeable care.THANK YOU!!! Re: Chronic back issues
