  Amazing! So gentle and kind. I had a really amazing experience with Dr. Douek. He delivered three of my nephews. And that was sometime ago. So when it was time to look for an OB he was one of the first people that we considered. The office is very busy and for good reason because he genuinely cares and is there for every single person. The nurse Heidi was amazing and on our first visit she went over every single detail of our experience and what was gonna happen and what we had experience leading up to the pregnancy and was very thorough. Flash forward to the labor and I couldn’t of asked for a better person in the room. I am older and also wanted to go for a natural birth. We had discussed this throughout the pregnancy and Dr. Douek was very supportive and on board and he reviewed all of our options to make sure that we understood what was going on. Early in the pregnancy there were some medical decisions that needed to be made. Dr. Douek was very patient and let us come to the conclusion that worked for us while guiding us along the way. NYU Has a great network of doctors and specialists and this allowed us to see people and get feedback sent to Dr. Douek. This helped make the pregnancy extremely easy and enjoyable as opposed to stressful and pressured. Overall we are so happy with our experience with Dr. Douek and his office. It’s not the fanciest place but it is the most caring and the experience with NYU hospital was also excellent to top it off. Sometimes there is a long wait at the office but it is completely worth it.

  Member Review: This was my first pregnancy and luckily an uncomplicated one. I am a person who tends to ask lots of questions though, and I particularly valued that Dr. Douek was patient and reassuring in his responses. He has an easy-going manner, though decisive when that's required. He was respectful of my preferences for minimal interventions and pragmatic and up-front about the many scenarios that can come up in labor and delivery. I also found his input very valuable when I was selecting post-partum birth control. Insurance details: Dr. Douek accepted my Cigna insurance and I've had no issues at all with claims. There were certain procedures that when done in the office (I think it was a particular kind of sonogram) required up-front out of pocket payment, since usually insurance did not cover the cost. However, the office was always prompt to submit the claim to insurance and issue a reimbursement if the insurance ended up covering all or part of the cost. Review based on birth of 2014 baby
