ISO: Recommendation on where to get my eyes checked.
I really like the optomotrist at Urban Optical on 7th Ave near 9th Street:Eye Doctor Recommendation
I've had good experiences with the doctor at Urban Optical on 7th Ave. The guy's sort of a character, but he realized I was wearing the normal shape contacts when I should be wearing a flatter lens. I've seen a lot of eye doctors and no one ever caught that. And let me tell you, the flatter lenses are way more comfortable.Donate glasses
Urban Optical - 7th Ave x 9th St has a box for glasses donations by the door. Most people drop off the glasses in a case, but I don't think a case is required.[Spring2014Babies] Kids eye doctor recommendation?
For all our other eye needs, we've had great luck at Urban Optic on 7th Avenue between 8th and 9th street.Re: Eyeglasses for toddler
Our 16-month-old son wears Miraflex glasses. We got them at Urban Optical on 7th Ave and 9th Street. They were one of the opticians recommended by our doctor as being particularly good with kids. Good luck!RE: [PSP] flexible kid's eyeglass frames in the hood?

Go to Urban Optican on 7th Ave Between 8th &9th st. The owner in the nicest and honest Optimetrist out there Adam Friedland. And a great a optometrist too as well as the other doctors that works for him. They have great collection for adults and kids. Waiting time is no more than 10-20 minutes and they take most Vision plans. (Reviewed May 2015)Re: [PSP] looking for recommendations of local optometrists and eyeglass places
Urban optical on 7th ave and ninth st was great- didn't have exam there but they filled some frames that another place wouldn't touch and their service was great. Big selection of frames too.ISO: Pediatric Optician
My wife and I have been seeing him for years, and he set our son up with his first glasses (also at age 10) last winter. He and his staff are very insurance-sensitive and always make clear what you're covered for and the options that come with it. They have a good number of low-cost kids' frames, which is key, considering we're on our fourth pair in the last year (fifth, including the sports goggles we got AFTER he'd broken another pair at football practice!)
