Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
It would be impossible to describe all the ways in which Tricia's class was invaluable to me and my husband in preparing for our homebirth. Tricia is loving, kind, gentle, and encouraging; she holds space for everyone's thoughts and feelings, and the differences between them. Tricia offered a validating presence, with a firm message that we were capable of doing this incredible and difficult work without intervention. Tricia's class is extremely thorough and informative, covering each and every important aspect of labor, birth and postpartum. If you're planning a homebirth, there is no better class to take.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Tricia is wonderful. Warm, knowledgeable, flexible, and supportive, we would recommend her comprehensive childbirth classes to any expectant parents. I would say that my husband and I in particular could have used more info about newborn care before our baby came, but Tricia's focus is on birth itself, so we probably should have just taken a newborn care class in addition!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Tricia helped us be ready for anything regarding home birth, and Michelle made the process of learning about birth safe and hilarious and wondrous!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I'm so grateful we took this class. It was geared specifically toward home birth and helped us be more prepared and gave my husband all the tools to be an amazing doula for me since ours couldn't come due to covidReview from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
My partner and I attended Tricia’s home birth class. It was as important prep as my midwife appts. Tricia is a really skilled facilitator. I really connected with her view of pregnancy and postpartum. We also built close connections with the other participants.Childbirth and Infant Care Classes
For my first baby, we worked with Tricia Philips ( https://www.allowingbirth.com) and she was amazing. We ended up doing private sessions because my husband is a consultant and travels for work each week (er... used to...). Having her in our home was such a pleasure for those three sessions. We had a home birth so our classes were geared towards that, but I know she teaches about birth in all environments. As for when... I don’t really remember. I don’t think you can go wrong at any time though. You will definitely remember the parts that are important to you/stand out to you as particularly helpful when the time comes. And... she gave away a little packet of materials too so I could always look back on that if I forgot a recommendation. I’m guessing most spots do that as well.Review submitted via the Park Slope Parents 2017 Birth Survey
Excellent class for any home-birther or anyone wanting a natural, intervention-free birth experience. Based on a October 2017 birthing experience.
