Pediatrician Research
I love Dr. Talia Chao at Tribeca Pediatrics on Dean St. She's got a great demeanor and is always good about letting you know what is typical and what is a concern. She's the kind of person I'd want to be friends with and is wonderful with kids.Pediatrician near Downtown BK
I love Dr. Talia Chao at the Boerum Hill Tribeca Pediatrics. She's very warm, fun with the kids, and great at helping you understand the spectrum of what is normal and when there is a cause for concern. The other doctors there have also been great when I've gone in for sick visits.Experience at Tribeca Pediatrics on Cortelyou
My son is almost fourteen. We have been with Tribeca since he was about 2 years old. We had an amazing doctor at their Boerum Hill location, but she left. We have stuck with Tribeca, but the doctor turnover rate is pretty high. I think my son has seen about 5 doctors/Nurse Practitioners over the years. It seems like the kind of place where pediatricians come to learn their craft, then go off to private practice. It's clean and organized and everyone is nice. If I had to do it over, I would have gone with a practice that keeps their doctors over the long-term so my son could form a real relationship with him/her/them. I find that this is especially important because he is now supposed to fill out a self-report form about his health. He has to answer questions about drug usage, alcohol, sex, suicidal ideation, etc. This is really personal stuff and I feel like he'd be better off with a doctor whom he'd seen for more than a couple of years.Finding a Pediatrician?
We take my two to Tribeca (both the Boerum Hill office and now the Park Slope office, as well as the Prospect Heights location for occasional sick visits) and have been happy with everyone we've seen there. When we were first looking, the best advice I got was to start with the pediatricians closest to you, because for the first year, you'll be there A LOT. And then expand your radius if for some reason you don't like the most convenient doctors. Another nice-to-have factor is if they have emergency support over phone or email even when offices are closed, and if you can call and ask a doctor/nurse questions without having to bring the baby in — we've used that feature at Tribeca a ton. One thing about Tribeca that is worth being prepared for is that they send these famously VERY intense sleep training emails around the 2-4 month appointments. Paraphrasing, they say to do full, extinction cry-it-out at 8 weeks, and then they follow up being like "if you haven't followed our advice by now, your kid won't ever sleep." And both times I've gotten them I've been tempted to leave the practice over it (and I'm not even anti-CIO!). But both times I've talked to our individual pediatricians about it, and they've been much more relaxed and super supportive, saying "all we want to do is make sure you're thinking about sleep and have a plan for it, because sleep is important. But the company emails are just one possible option, find a solution that works for your family." So if you pick Tribeca, just go in expecting a couple nightmare emails and be prepared to ignore them if their style of sleep training isn't your thing!Recommendation for pediatrician in Cobble Hill?
Dr Talia Chao at Tribeca Peds Boerum Hill has been great with our kids. She's very knowledgeable and thorough but non-alarmist.Recommendation for pediatrician in Cobble Hill?
I really like tribeca pediatrics. They are very good with immediate callbacks for sick kids and same day sick appointments. I see Dr Kilmer at the Boerum Hill location and she is lovely. My son recently had COVID and I called three times in one day and a nurse will call back very quickly each time. You can also visit the Carroll gardens office for sick visits. That location wasn’t open when I had my son so that’s why it’s not our main one.Pediatrician recommendation?
We have seen Dr Talia Chao at the Boerum Hill practice for a long time with both our kids. She's amazing. She only works part-time though so if you have a sick visit you probably won't get an appointment with her. But she has been so great with both our kids. She doesn't rush you. She really listens. She talks to the kids and looks them in the eye and really listens to them as well. She feels very present in our appointments. Now that our daughter is 11 she also has us leave the room for 5 minutes during her wellness visits so they can have their own 1-on-1 chat which our daughter really appreciates and enjoys. I can't say enough good things about her. The other doctors in that practice are good also, and I love their 24 hour doctor-on-call line. But Dr Chao is the reason we stay with them.Pediatrician recommendation?
Dr chao in the Boerum hill location, dean street!! We LOVE her, been with her for 4 years now. You’ll see a ton of recommendation for her in the bococa facebook parent group also. She takes her time to listen and we always feel good after seeing her. Generally a little wait even with appointment but that’s because she truly takes her time with you and NEVER rushes through anything.Doctor Recommendations

We go to Tribeca Pediatrics in Boerum Hill. Dr. Chao is great! There are locations all over so it's convenient. One time we had to go to a different location on a Saturday, so it was nice they already had our info on file.Pediatrician recemmendation
Tribeca in Boerum Hill, Dr. Kilmer is lovely.ISO pediatrician in the Barclays / Boerum Hill / Park Slope area
We love Talia Chao at Tribeca Pediatrics on Dean Street in Boerum Hill. As first time parents (our daughter is 6mo), we’ve found her to be personable, positive and encouraging. She’s extremely thorough and always takes a lot of time to answer all of our questions during visits, as well as responding quickly to messages. She is also a parent of a young child which I think informs her empathetic and realistic advice. I’ve also liked the other doctors and NP that I’ve seen at that office.Sharing received recommendation for the Pediatrician from Tribeca Pediatrics

We go to Tribeca Pediatrics on Dean St and sleep trained our son around 2 months. Our doctor didn't force it upon us and let us know it was our own personal decision whenever or however we wanted to do it. He is now 27 months old!Do you have a pediatricians you like?
We love Dr. Talia Chao at Tribeca Pediatrics in Boerum Hill! We did want to sleep train pretty early on and she was fine with that but also did not push it. She has a laid back approach but also gives guidance in terms of eating and sleeping that is very helpful.Review submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
We love Dr. Chao. As an EBF, cloth diapering and attachment parenting family, we feel that Dr. Chai respects and supports our decisions. She is no nonsense, patient and down to earth. Our son responds well to her. She always takes the time to answer all of our questions. Insurance: Y. All fine. Based on a 2015 birthReview submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
Review: I know they are kind of controversial but as an early childhood professional who studied child development I strongly agree with many of their beliefs and positions on early childhood. Insurance: Yes Based on a 2015 birthReview submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
You may have already heard that this practice is dogmatic about certain issues - sleeptraining from a very young age for example. I also find that when you have a concern or recurring issue (for us it was baby's inconsistent weight gain, and on occasion weight loss), they may not always take the time to discuss it fulsomely with the parent. In my case, I felt they were so unconvincing in their dismissal of my questions that I went to get a second opinion. In the end, this second doctor came to the same conclusion but took the time to walk me through her rationale. In the end, we stayed with Tibeca Boerum Hill in large part because they are around the corner. I'd say they are good for routine issues (weight check, well baby visits), no long waiting times, nice clean bright waiting room with toys. But if we have another serious issue again (hopefully we won't!) I will likely go see another doctor. Insurance: Y, no issues with insurance. Based on a Jan 2015 birth(no subject)
We see Dr. Tholany at Tribeca Pediatrics in Boerum Hill. I've been using the Dr. Sears schedule and have also opted to skip shots at times and I have never had any resistance from her. Don't know if that goes for all the Drs at different Tribeca Pediatrics locations, but I've always been grateful to be able to make my own decisions on that front (May 2012)Review from 2011 PSP Pediatrician Survey
(Review Feb.2011) Dr Tholany is a nice and friendly person. I like her although she seems to run the "Don't worry" line by me a bit too often. I am not someone who is neurotic nor easily stressed, but like to know about things. It seems that sometimes my questions are being answered with a generic one liner. But otherwise I am pretty happy with the practice. The pediatric nurse i the practice (can't recall her name right now) is very informative. INSURANCE: Oxford Freedom. No problems so far with filing claims.Review from 2011 PSP Pediatrician Survey
(Review Feb.2011) I've been very happy with the practice and Dr. Tholany. She explains things clearly and is a compassionate caregiver. They diagnosed my daughter's hip dysplasia at one month which meant she could get treatment right away. Dr Tholany is a strong believer in vaccinations, as I am, and my daughters has been following the recommended schedule. Dr. Tholany recommended waiting until 6 months to start solids, which meant I had to start supplementing (4 oz of formula a day) at 5 months since I wasn't pumping enough at work. I wish I had perhaps started solids a bit earlier to avoid that. The front office is prompt and well organized although a bit curt at times. The space is clean and nicely designed. I usually only have to wait about 5 minutes for each apt. We live in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill border and usually just walk there in about 20 minutes with stroller. Highly recommend. (Review Feb.2011) Dr. Tholany is very relaxed in her care. She's very competent and keeps me sane when it comes to all the colds and coughs, as well as offers plenty advice on how to handle eating battles, sleeping schedules, and temper tantrums. INSURANCE: United Heathcare- The best part of this practice is the office staff. Very professional, no issues ever with insurance.Dr. Tholany - Review from 2011 PSP Doctor Survey
Delay Vaccines? Yes (Review Feb.2011) Dr. T is very patient and warm. She advocates vaccines but also respects alternative schedules. If you do get vaccines she's one of the fastest shot-givers there is--one of the few I've seen do the double-needle at once. Pretty impressive. I like the Tribeca Pediatrics "franchise" (not sure what to call it) because of the quality of service, online information, access to multiple locations (once we were able to get my son a strep test in the city at their Chelsea location). Appointments are done in a timely m anner. Offices and waiting areas are well designed with quality, mostly wooden toys. INSURANCE: Tribeca Pediatrics is one of the few places that takes Child Health Plus/ Empire -- thank god!Review from 2011 PSP Pediatrician Survey
Delay Vaccines? Yes (Review Feb.2011) We love Dr. Tholany. She's incredibly nice, as well as intelligent and responsive. She was helpful in dealing with lead issues with our daughter. We love her (and the practice overall) low key approach to our child's health. She was also understanding and not at all judgemental about us having a home birth and doing a slower than usual vaccination schedule. We've also had great experiences with the Park Slope office and Dr. Gold when our daughter has been sick. INSURANCE: Blue Cross Blue Shield Child Health Plus. Everything's been fine and easy.(no subject)
Dr. Maryanne Tholany is absolutely top-notch. I have never met another doctor who follows-up on phone calls, gives great advice on problems both big and small and is a great listener. She is young and dynamic and is great with kids. Highly, highly recommended (Recommended 10/08)(no subject)
Fantastic, Dr Maryann Tholany. With this new location I just switched both of my kids back (used to go into the city). (Recommended 10/08)(no subject)
You will only have one pediatrician there, who is in the office 4 days a week (a nurse practitioner is there on Wednesday). They have a weekly "get to know the doctor" information session every Thursday at 4:30 PM, free, excellent information, mini-tour -- definitely recommended. (Recommended 10/08)
