I use Ting (ting.com), which piggybacks off of T-Mobile or Verizon, depending on if you use GSM or CDMA. My husband and I use about 1gb data a month (pay as you go), plus pay as you go talk and text. Comes to about $50 a month, including taxes. Would be about $25 for one phone. I believe you can limit the amount of data used. Coverage is very good in Park Slope.
