  • gg freezing at 38 or 39

And also highly recommend the Sher Institute (Dr. Jeff Wang for me). Although I didn’t freeze my eggs for later, I did use Sher for IVF with a frozen transfer.

I third the recommendation for SIRM. Jeff Wang was AMAZING. He was moved about a year ago to head up the Connecticut location though . He highly recommends Dr. Dickens (I've asked him for friends of ours). The staff there is incredibly understanding and warm which is important when dealing with the emotional/physical roller coaster of IVF. We were fortunate enough to have healthy boy/girl twins because of SIRM.

Ditto on Dr. Wang!!! He's the greatest! We are blessed to have our son because of him.

Seconding the recommendation for Jeff Wang at sirm. He is amazing. Dr dicken at the clinic is great too. We have three amazing girls due to the wonderful team at sirm.

Dr. Jeff Wang is excellent. (Although our fertility challenges were for different reasons than yours.) He helped us have our two wonderful children with IVF. He’s with Sher Fertility in Manhattan.
  • [Spring2016Babies] Fertility clinics

All three of my girls are due to the wonderful doctors at SIRM NY. Dr Wong was my doctor that helped me conceive my older one and I worked with Dr Dicken when we went back and had my twins. They are two of the best doctors I have ever seen and I can't recommend them enough. The road can be very hard and these are two of the most compassionate people I have ever met.
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] Fertility advice

Hi my husband and I went through and IVF. We used Sher Fertility in the city. They were very very nice and very thorough and the consultation was free. We ended up having a beautiful baby boy who is now nine weeks old with them. Our insurance did not cover our IVF so we did pay out-of-pocket. But we were in the best hands and with caring and nurturing nurses and doctors. I am surprised that the Dr. was charging $500 consultation fee. Most clinics have free consultations. When you go to your consultation you should make sure that you have all of your medical records with you so at the time they can assess. Most insurances do not cover IVF. They might cover IUIs. I also went the chlomid route which did not work for me. We did that a total of five times. Insurance will probably cover your injectable drugs for an IVF procedure. Try not to wait too long for consultations I would start now. Best of luck to you.

We finally decided to go the IVF route. We were dealing with male factor infertility. We heard great things about the Sher Institute so that was the first place we tried. I have to say, I really really liked it. Very clean, wonderful staff. We conceived on our first try and are due with twins. As far as what insurance they accept, you would need to contact them to find out. They do have a website where you can learn more about them: http://www.haveababy.com (Recommended March 2010)
