Description

Drop in for pottery painting. Organized classes include painting (mommy and me), toddler claytime, knitting, beading, and story time.

\"We are a warm and friendly paint your own pottery studio where you are the artist. Pick a piece of pottery, choose your paints and paint away. We then glaze and fire your pottery and it is ready in one week for pick up. We also offer mosaics and now offer beading where you can make your own jewelry. In addition, we have a Pottery School with 8 potter’s wheels. There are classes for both adults and children. We offer birthday parties for all ages and welcome class trips!\"

  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Painted Pot, 7th Ave How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 Review: The Painted Pot was my 6 yo daughter’s favorite camp of the summer. It was a smaller, more intimate camp that gave her a lot of artistic license while teaching her new pottery and sculpting skills. My impression was that it was less structured and self-led than other camps, which made her feel more mature and self-determined. They did of course have pre-determined projects, and non-art activities. Anyway for my free spirit artist, it was perfect.
  • 5 year old bday outing ideas

My son recently went to a 5 year old bday party at the painted pot and had a great time, they are open late Friday and with like dinner / dessert and some art as a family I think would be fun (and warm!) the only trouble is that you have to wait for them to fire the pot and he, as a 5 year old, is short on patience and now asking daily if his pot is ready.

  • Review for the Painted Pot

I had a terrific experience working with the Painted Pot to do a class gift for my child’s teacher. They really went above and beyond. They helped me think through which platter would be an appropriate size for 20 children to paint, divided it up into equal sections, and offered to greet kids and get them set up when I couldn’t be there. They really were fantastic, and I recommend them highly. While I was there, there was a large group and several individual families working on projects. The staff gave great support to each group and everyone seemed to be having fun!

Age of Child 3 Reason for Choice: of special interest to my child,, ease of planning, in my price range, conveniently located Likes: It was a good place for a wide age-spread. I had 8 year olds painting happily beside 2 year olds! Everyone had fun painting their pottery, and there were lots of bisque characters to choose from -- robots, princess, piggy banks, etc. The only thing that was hard to explain to the guests was that they couldn't take their pieces home THAT day, that the bisque needed to fire for a week, and I'd get their creations delivered to them later. Not included in the Party Package: private use of the venue (meal may have been in a private room but bulk of the party was in a shared space), , , party bags, cake, Cost Per Child: $21-$25 DO you recommend? (Choices: Highly/Recommend/DoNot) Recommend Other Info: While the store itself is small, there's a great playground right across the street. So after painting and having pizza and cake, you can run off some sugar outside.

Tiny Tot Party Age of Child 3 Reason for Choice: ease of planning, conveniently located Likes: Think our son was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of people, but that was our fault, not the Painted Pot's!! Loved that the Painted Pot did the following: 1. Allowed us to bring our own food and cake 2. Allowed us to serve alcohol to the parents 3. Was flexible about plate pick up both by us and random parents who thought to go get it themselves. 4. Did not have to worry about bad weather, but good weather gave opportunity to hang out in Carroll Park across the street. 5. Pretty easy parking for those coming from out of the neighborhood and right at F train for Park Slopers. 6. Super nice and flexible staff - amazed that they let us have 20 3 year olds running around with all that pottery around there!! Changes: Not sure I'd have another 3 year old party here - the stools are kind of high up and so parents had to hover near their kids to make sure they didn't tip off. And hard to get kids to focus on painting a plate - although that had a bit of charm to it too. But aside from that, great place! Definitely would have a party for slightly older kids here again. Not included in the Party Package: , , food for kids, , cake,Juice and coffee was included and the party bag was the plate the kids could pick up after. And kids got a balloon to take home, so there was immediate gratification too! Cost Per Child: $26-$30 DO you recommend? (Choices: Highly/Recommend/DoNot) Highly recommend
