Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: They do have a lot of love and the atmosphere is fun and playful and we love that all of the staff know our son and talk to him by name when we walk through the hallways BUT after our first year they expanded and now they are extended beyond capacity to manage thoughtfully. The classroom our son is in currently has two teachers with no experience and no support and the kids are definitely suffering. We are pulling him out ASAP. Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Provide training and regular support to all teachers, especially new ones.Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: We are very happy! Smaller environment, everyone knows everyone, hands-on. Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? More serious about curriculumReview from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: We've been so happy with TLE. The teachers and administrative staff have all been fantastic and my son loves going there everyday. It's a little further away from our apartment than I wish, but I don't think I'd change even if a closer daycare opened up. Amenities: Has after-school options, Provides mealsReview from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: Clinton Hill / Bed-Stuy Type of facility: Daycare Review: Strong program with a passionate director and caring teachers. Beautiful new facility with an indoor playground and other indoor play areas. What amenities does the facility have? Has after-school options, Provides mealsReview from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: Clinton Hill Type of facility: Daycare Review: We've only been there about a month, but so far we've been really happy. The administration is really communicative and once we figured out the system for speaking with teachers, we've been able to do that too. The teachers have been helpful in making this a pretty easy transition (except for some illnesses, which were to be expected). What amenities does the facility have? Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything? Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? They recently lifted the mask mandate for teachers, however all have to be vaccinated. Parents raised concerns about keeping the mask recommendation for visitors/parents, which they were quick to agree with and reinstate that policy.Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Pre-K Review: Big chain run by a local mom - best of both worlds! Reena (owner) is absolutely wonderful and the entire staff is kind, patient, and communicative. Better organized that most places we looked at. We are in PreK there and they send tons of photos every day, kids are outside 1-2x per day (there's a playground around the corner), and our 3.5 yo loves his teacher and class. What amenities does the facility provide? Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? They haven't been super strict when kids pull down their mask during class (I can see from the class photos)Daycare Recommendations in Bed Stuy
Our youngest daughter started at The Learning Experience in Clinton Hill in April and we've really enjoyed it so far. It's a national chain and one thing that's really nice about that component is they're open all year (no closing for summer, mid-winter break, winter break, all those closures you encounter and have to navigate with smaller daycares). One other note about them... they are likely getting approved to have a couple Pre-K for All classes next year and I believe kids who are in the daycare will move right into spots in that program.Daycare recommendations
Another strong recommendation for TLE - Clinton Hill! We enrolled our daughter last year pre-Covid when she was 4 months, they closed six weeks later, and then we re-enrolled in September. We were nervous about the risk but they’ve been so transparent about everything and that’s really created a sense of comfort and trust. I’ve also been impressed by how well they seem to know our daughter. She had specific milestones to meet before moving from the infant to toddler room and they worked with her and us to support her in that transition. We happen to live around the corner and turns out convenience is a huge boost to quality of life - so don’t underestimate that as you’re weighing your decision!Daycare recommendations
Our daughter loves TLE too....she kicks with joy when she sees her teacher in the morning. I agree with E.'s comments and will also add that the physical space is big, bright and new with an indoor playground and other amenities.Daycare recommendations
I LOVE The Learning Experience Clinton Hill. It’s the best of both worlds - it’s a small locally owned business that benefits from having the support and guidance of a national structure. My first child graduated their 3s program last year and I have a little one there now. The owner is a neighborhood mom of two (her kids are both there), and she is incredible. She’s communicative, hires wonderful, caring staff, and has taken cleanliness to a whole new level in response to COVID. The school has created a strong sense of community among the parents and kids. They also send lots of daily updates, provide meals, accommodate allergies, and in the older classes they accomplish a great deal of learning in a fun environment. I’ve had other daycare experiences in the neighborhood and this one was by far my favorite.
