Terrace Restaurant on Fifth Ave and 1st is great. Mexican themed but great omelets, sandwiches and all traditional diner food.

I like Tom's in Prospect Heights for pancakes (great pancakes!) and Terrace on 5th Ave in Park Slope (I usually get lunch foods there, so can't speak to breakfast items).

We brought sterno food set-up and had food delivered from Terrace Restaurant. We just wanted appetizers and kid-friendly foods, like chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks, and it was great.

I think that Terrace- https://terracerestaurantbk.com/ is worth a look! I don't think they have a room, but they have booths/tables and it is large enough that you might be able to take an area over. They are really great with kids, and they are always super fast.
Pancakes and outdoor seating

Terrace Restaurant on 5th Ave (right near Calexico and Two Boots) is a diner that has a huge array of options, including pancakes, and outdoor seating. I think they do a combination of covered seating, as well as expanding onto the street if the streets are closed.
