  • Recs for non-talk therapy

Teresa Stern https://www.mindfultherapybrooklyn.com/ and Marice Maldari https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/marice-maldari-formerly-mendoza-brooklyn-ny/177457 are both great Somatic Experiencing practitioners in Brooklyn.
  • [ANONYMOUS] Trauma Therapist

try Teresa Stern. She specializes in Somatic Experiencing, a body based trauma resolution model, and children.
  • [PSP-SDS] Need therapist to help explain separation to a child

I'm so sorry you've been going through this. I relate to your story, sadly, I don't know you but send you love and support your way.. I highly recommend Teresa Stern, her info is below. She's been helping my two sons and I recuperate from a terribly painful divorce, has been unbelievable on every level. Hoping you find what you're looking for, hoping you all find a way towards healing as soon as possible.. (October 2014)
  • [ANONYMOUS] Seeking therapist specializing in sexual trauma

I suggest you talk to Teresa Stern at Mindful Parenting Brooklyn. This has been her area of focus for more than 20 years and she has helped many survivors heal from sexual trauma.
  • ISO therapist who specializes in childbirth issues

I had a similar situation for months filled anxiety and depression while I healed from my unplanned c-section of my first birth. It's really important to sort out your feelings sooner rather than later so you CAN focus on the joy of your second pregnancy and know that armed with knowledge and different choices, it can be a different experience (and possibly happier) than the first time around. I highly recommend Teresa Stern at Mindful Parenting, which is located in Ft Greene and also Union Square. She uses the Somatic Experience, which helps you process painful traumatic experiences gently without having to revisit the issues in a charged manner, which happens sometimes with traditional talk therapy.
