  • Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? Nov 2022 Review: Personable, knowledgeable, attentive. She made it to my labor even tho it wasn’t her call day, which is virtually unheard of in todays world. The clinic asked me to give a deposit to cover my labor in my last trimester and I still haven’t gotten it back though 6 months later!
  • Ob/gyn at NYU-Langone

I used to go to Dr. Teresa Cheon who is affiliated with NYU. She was incredible. Sadly my insurance changed so I could no longer go to her.
  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

Dr. Cheon is thorough, calming, and does not stress out a new mother with excessive details and rules. She made me feel comfortable and at ease and was also direct with recommendations. There was a hiccup reaching doctors at the practice using their automated after hours service when I went into labor.

    Amazing
  • 2019 Birth Survey

Amazing - I had a very difficult pregnancy (Placenta Previa) and was in the hospital for a month. Dr. Cheon visited me almost every day and even had a second doctor, Dr. McClelland there during my scheduled c section to re-assure me that we were all hands on deck. I can't thank them enough for keeping me and my baby safe.
  • 2019 Birth Survey

Dr Cheon is fantastic. She is competent and kind, and I was very happy with my experience with her, as well as her practice.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

I loved Dr Cheon. She was straight-forward, no nonsense but still very warm and reassuring.
  • Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

She is fantastic! An accomplished physician who was great in handling a higher risk pregnancy and reacted quickly and efficiently to complications during the birth. To boot she is lovely with a good bedside manner and checked up on me frequently post birth. Based on a August 2017 birthing experience.
  • Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey

Dr. Cheon is a thoughtful, diligent, patient, skilled, and caring physician. For the most part Dr. Cheon tries to deliver her own patients, in other words it is not a typical group practice model. She and her practice have a very low c-section rate and take pride in this. However, and perhaps in part because of this, they actively manage labor and do not shy away from Pitocin in order to maximize chances of vaginal deliveries. She is skilled in using forceps when needed and will turn to this rather than going directly to c-section. I would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for an OB/GYN. Member notes about insurance: Yes she takes insurance and the office has submitted the paperwork since I am in network with her. Based on a March 2016 birthing experience

REVIEW: Dr. Cheon was great. She has a very low c-section rate and delivers most of her own patients (though works in a group practice so there is back-up as needed). She did a great job with the delivery, which was quite complicated. She was open-minded to my desires, for example by letting me go two weeks past my due date before induction. INSURANCE Haven't had any insurance problems. Based on a December 2015 birth

Member Review: I had a tremendously positive experience with Dr. Cheon and the NY Midtown OB-GYN practice in general. Dr. Cheon was calm and informative, but also had a warmth about her that made me feel comfortable. I personally wanted to give birth in a hospital setting so being with Dr. Cheon at NYU Langone made sense for me. Insurance details: Yes. The insurance process was super easy. I never had any problems or unexpected bills. Review based on birth of 2014 baby
  • Re: ISO: Ob affilitated with NYU

I highly recommend Dr. Theresa Cheon. She is with a practice group called NY Midtown OBGYN on 2nd Ave and 42nd. I met some of the other doctors at the practice who were good doctors but I personally didn't like them as much, particularly the male doctor who was on shift at the hospital when I was having my baby. But Dr. Cheon was great. She came to deliver our child even though it wasn't her day to be at the hospital. Throughout the pregnancy she made me feel confident and comfortable so that i was able to get through the 2 days of labor and delivery without using medication. She helped to make the whole experience a very wonderful memorable one.
