  • Review from the 2021 Summer Camp Survey

Name of camp: Brooklyn Tech Explorers Location: Park Slope, 7th Ave How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 Review: My daughter loved this camp. She was free to be her nerdy self and was very proud of the work she did. She wants to go back for school break camps! What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? It's slightly disorganized but it had little impact on our overall experience. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? Good masking policies and limited people in the space.
  • anyone experience with Tech ExplorersBK?

My younger son (9) has done after school with them. They just opened in January. Their staff is responsive and sweet with the kids. His first class was game coding on scratch jr which we liked because it built toward a game and he learned how to code a scoring system and build a two-player game. The next two sessions didn't involve coding and didn't really build a skill. He liked them but I found them disappointing for the cost. That said, we will do a week of camp with them. I feel like the coding programs lend themselves more to structure and accomplishment. My older son (11) will join my younger son for python there for a week in summer. I considered coding space and other camps but decided the novelty, age mix and proximity of this space may be worth a try. I hope it works out! (June 2019)
