We just went to Tava (turkish) on 5th ave for the second time and in our opinion it's the perfect compromise. it feels fancy (cloth napkins etc) and it's not clogged with families but they have high chairs and are very kid friendly. everything we've gotten has been great (caveat: we're vegetarian) and because it's mediterranean it's very baby friendly.
