  • ISO pcp & OB/gyn

Dr. Nagy is the best OB I could have ever hoped for. She is funny, warm, reassuring, takes the time to answer all questions. She is the best doctor I had in my whole life. She is at lower Manhattan Presbyterian.

OBGYN: Dr. Chak / Dr. Nagy What month and year was your child born? May 2023 Review: Very supportive and transparent

What month and year was your child born? July 2022 Review: Dr. Nagy was very friendly and personable. I was quite anxious throughout my pregnancy and she was very reassuring and calming. Unfortunately, her office set up was such that I did a rotation with other doctors starting around 34 weeks which is when I was medically fragile in my pregnancy. Given the lack of continuity of care, and the difference of opinion of different doctors, I believe having multiple doctors was a hindrance to receiving the best care.

What month and year was your child born? August 2022 Review: Dr. Nagy is the best. She's the thoughtful, smart, takes her time with every question and is incredibly responsive on email. Her office is next to the hospital so everything was easy when it came time to get high res scans. My pregnancy was high risk, and I think she did an incredible job keeping me safe and sane.

What month and year was your child born? July 2021 Review: She is the absolute best.

What month and year was your child born? February 2022 Review: Excellent doctor. I wish she could be my doctor for every single thing. So warm and compassionate, and walked me through the process at every visit. Only downside is that she only delivers on Tuesdays so if you don’t go into labor then, she won’t deliver you. I had another doctor in her practice deliver me, and it was fine.
  • OB or Midwifery providing quality remote care

Dr Nagy is my OB as well and I’m actually delivering on June 9 at lower manhattan Presbyterian Hospital. She truly is exceptional. I’ve had no better doctor in any field. This will be my third delivery with Dr Nagy and she has been supportive, professional, quick to respond to emails and helpful. In fact, I referred my sister in law to her and she is also thrilled. I’ve had two virtual Dr appts (one with her and one with another doctor) and they went seamlessly. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
  • OB or Midwifery providing quality remote care

Hi there - While I can't speak to prenatal care during the pandemic or telehealth (my daughter was born in November), I would highly recommend my OB, Dr. Szilvia Nagy at NY Pres Lower Manhattan. She is excellent - wonderful bedside manner, always prepared for visits, and really helped put my mind at ease as a first time mom. The other doctors in the practice were similarly very kind - I was in labor for quite a while and had a c-section, so I ended up seeing four of the six doctors during my hospital stay! And, I sent Dr. Nagy a non-urgent note at the height of the pandemic here and she responded within several hours, which makes me think this standard of care has been carried over to the current state. Good luck, and wishing you a healthy pregnancy and delivery!
  • Ob/GYN recommendation

For my second, I went to Dr. Szilvia Nagy who is absolutely incredible. She is the warmest down to earth doctor who is always available to answer questions through their portal and takes her time with you at every appointment. The downside is unless it’s an emergency you do have to book your appointments well in advance. She is also a Weill doctor who only delivers at LoMa which I know is a concern for you. I did have a great experience especially with the nurses at LoMa and despite the worse food and facility, preferred my experience at LoMa over NYU Langone.
  • ObGyn who uses ultrasound at checkups

Dr. Nagy at Weill Cornell LOMA always does bedside ultrasounds and she’s absolutely wonderful!! I just gave birth this morning and could not have been happier under her care.
  • 2019 Birth Survey

Amazing, warm, accommodating doctor who takes the time you need with her.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Dr. Nagy was wonderful! She is a perfect doctor for someone expecting their first child. She was always warm and responsive to our questions, even though they may have been silly. We also liked that she was reassuring, especially since we had to do supplemental testing. I was so happy to have her as my doctor while I was pregnant. That being said, she works in a rotating practice, so Dr. Nagy is not guaranteed to be your doctor when you are delivering. We did have a chance to meet all the other doctors in the practice, and we liked all of them, and the doctor who was on call when I delivered (Dr. Daley) was also fantastic.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

She is an unbelievable doctor in every sense. She is incredibly knowledgeable and competent, while also making you feel like you are her only patient. She is the best doctor I’ve ever had.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Dr. Nagy is fantastic. She is very attentive, kind, understanding and supportive. She always responds to your questions very quickly (using an online messaging system)—I could not recommend her more. She made my birthing experience feel easy and controlled.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Dr Nagy was great! Enthusiastic, caring, always ready to answer question after question and ensure I felt safe and prepared. She did my c-section and what a pro! After 9 months my scar is so small and barely visible.
  • [Summer2017Babies] OBGYN

I second Dr. Nagy! I have often described her as "an actual angel from heaven." I loved hearing about Allison's experience but got slightly jealous because Dr. Nagy honestly made me feel like we were BFFs. I was lucky enough to have her deliver my baby, but I met all the other docs in her practice and thought they were all wonderful. (One of them does not have great reviews online but I LOVED her.) Also thought the hospital staff at NYP-Lower Manhattan was really great.
  • [Summer2017Babies] OBGYN

I had an extremely positive experience with Dr. Nagy; so much so I really did miss our weekly appointments! She started and ended each appointment with a hug, remembered every little detail of our conversations, and would email me immediately when a test result came in. She would sit and talk to me for as long as I needed and I never felt rushed. Also, I was always seen on time and if I ever arrived a little early, they would bring me into the office early. She is part of Weill Cornell. The office is actually in NYP Lower Manhattan hospital, which is where you deliver and also where all the scans are done. At the time I got pregnant I was actually walking distance from the hospital, but I found taking the subway from Brooklyn was no problem as it's a couple minutes walk from Fulton St subway. I met all 5 doctors in the practice in case they were on call when I went into labor. Dr. Yu actually delivered me and she was just as awesome.

Amazing and very personable; looked forward to seeing her each month Based on a August 2017 birthing experience.
  • Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

I love Dr. Nagy. At our prenatal appointments, she was generous with her time and always seemed happy to answer any questions that we had. She is a very positive person, while still being a straight-shooter and practical. I also ended up having a somewhat severe post-partum hemorrhage, and I felt like she took very good care of me! Based on October 2016 birth experience

LOVED my Obgyn, super responsive (via the online portal) and warm. Of course she wasn't the one that delivered my baby but I knew that might be the case going in. Based on October 2016 birth experience
  • Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey

Dr. Nagy was great - very warm and reassuring for first time parents like ourselves! She was also helpful in suggesting alternative solutions for turning our baby who seemed locked in the breech position, recommending a great acupuncturist who helped get our little one turned just in time to have a vaginal delivery. Office location very convenient for those working in the FiDi. One caveat: We delivered 2 weeks early, when Dr. Nagy was on vacation, so someone else from the practice handled the actual birth. Based on August 2016 birthing experience
  • Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey

wonderful obgyn though not a huge fan of the labor/delivery floor (rotating staff) Based on February 2016 birthing experience
  • Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey

Dr. Nagy was warm and smart, could not have asked for a better birthing Doctor. She was supportive, calm and encouraging. I am someone who likes medicine, likes to get feedback from doctors about the best course but also wants someone with good bedside manner who treats their patients as individuals and who does not belittle when patients have questions. Member notes about insurance: Doctor took my insurance, no issues when claims. Based on a February 2016 birthing experience
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] OBGYN good w/maternal mental health issues

Ok my OBGYN is at NY Presbyterian-Lower Manhattan, but she is honestly the best doctor I have ever had. I referred my friend who has severe anxiety-she was suicidal during her IVF (she called her psychiatrist when those thoughts started and is stable, but still chronically anxious about miscarriage, still birth, Zika, etc). Dr Silvia Nagy and her team (everyone, from reception onward) are so supportive and encouraging and never never make her feel crazy or a burden. I struggled with moderate to severe anxiety during my pregnancy (same types of ruminations) and found her just wonderful and always gave me the time and support I needed. I lead with my friends story because it sounds like you two may be in a more similar ballpark. Glad to share my experience as well. Anxiety while pregnant is awful, I am so sorry you are going through this!

REVIEW: Dr. Rosca was my main OB throughout pregnancy but Dr Nagy, in the same practice, ended up delivering my baby. Dr Rosca has a straightforward, no nonsense style. I absolutely LOVED Dr Nagy during the delivery. She was extremely kind, caring, fun and thoughtful throughout the entire labor. I would highly recommend her. INSURANCE Yes. Based on a September 2015 birth
  • Review submitted via the 2014 Birthing Survey

Member Review: Dr Nagy was so, so helpful to my wife who suffered greatly from anxiety, depression, and OCD during her pregnancy. Dr Nagy is such a warm and loving presence, offers amazing care and really took the time to address any concerns or questions my wife had. My wife even said, "Dr Nagy was a God-send." Insurance details: We have GHI which Dr Nagy takes. We only had a problem in that we had not picked a pediatrician prior to delivery and the pediatrician they chose for us was not covered on our insurance and so they billed us an additional $400. Not Dr Nagy's fault, but thought it worth mentioning. Review based on birth of 2014 baby
