I’m a 37 year old and our situations sound similar. I had been working with a LCSW (successfully) for a few years on depression. After some discoveries in those sessions, I decided to be seen by a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with ADHD. I’m now using some medication to help and it’s going well. I see the LCSW weekly and the psychiatrist monthly. The psychiatrist is Dr. Suzanne Garfinkle. She is not cheap unless you happen to be over your out of network deductible, but I found her to be competent, sympathetic, and not overly quick to medicate.
