Daycare Recommendations - Ditmas Park
Just wanted to put in a first hand recommendation for St. John’s Kids Too — my older daughter went there for almost a year and a half pre-pandemic and we loved it.Daycare advice
I don’t know whether they have any current openings, but I can’t say enough good things about St. John’s Kidz Too near BK College. It is small, warm, supportive, fun with pts of cool learning activities, and has great outdoor space. Our daughter attended when she was 1-2 and it was hands down the best daycare experience we ever had with either of our children.Little Scholars Daycare Reviews/Feedback?
We live in Ditmas Park and started outr son in daycare at 9.5 months. At the time (this may have changed?) that location of Little Scholars didn’t take kids under 2, though I’ve heard good things from a friend with an older kid. We send [our son] to St John’s Kidz Too, right by Brooklyn College on Amersfort Place. We love it a lot, the other kids and families are super nice, and [our son] is thriving.3s program recommendation?
Our kids are currently at Gan Jewish Daycare for UPK (serves 2-4) and St John’s Kids Too down the street serves babies through 3. We’re really happy with both and both have mostly been open this fall 5 days a week except for safety reasons.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
St. John's Kidz Too is a great facility, clean and well maintained. The staff is fantastic and very warm. The school has a nice "homie" vibe which is what I was looking for. Its also intimate, 15-18 kids max. My daughter (18 months old) is learning to be more social, making friends and starting to say a few words. The school conducts lots of activities, art, music, dance and small family functions. The school is walking distance to the 2/5 Brooklyn College/Flatbush Ave train stop, which makes its very convenient for commuting. The hours are also great 8am-5:30pm, ideal for working parents. There's no extra fee for early drop off. I feel comfortable leaving my daughter under the care of Bernice and her lovely staff. I highly recommend this school. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has early morning hours, Provides light snacks What would you change? So far I wouldn't change anything about the school.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
Teachers eager to teach the kids the basics of speech colors and animals. My daughter started at 9 months so I was more interested in let her sleep and have a day as close as possible as if she was at home. Teachers willing to replicate her routine at home an open to listen directions. It is a small daycare and there is a cap of the number of kids to be accepted. The daycare organize activities that include parents so we get to meet the other parents, and have share some time. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has early morning hours What would you change? I don’t really have anything to say about the program that I don’t like. Probably if there were a plan b when the daycare is close on holidays so we as parents can have something to put the kids. Even if it is an extra cost. The holiday tend to be a little bit longer that just the day of the holiday for ex. Thanks giving day, the daycare will be close the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. That leave us to figure out care for Wednesday and Friday. On the other hand I am aware this teachers work hard and they need there days off. I like rested teachers and not overworked.
