  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I had a wonderful experience with Spring St OBGYN and would highly recommend the team! As a patient, you rotate to meet all of the doctors at least once during appointments so you'll have met the on duty doctor when you deliver (hopefully more than once). My physician was Dr. Rodgers and Dr. Greenwald delivered our daughter. I felt safe and informed throughout pregnancy as well as at the hospital, which I was nervous most about (especially because I delivered in July 2019 - a busy month for babies).
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I go to Spring Ob/Gyn and delivered at NYU in January. I have always gotten good care and had my concerns taken seriously, and I would have felt comfortable having any of the doctors at my delivery. Overall, it was a very positive experience, both with the practice and the hospital. I wanted to avoid an epidural if possible and did not feel pressured at all by the doctor or nurses, but also know that if I had changed my mind that would have been supported. One thing to note is that Spring is relatively risk-averse (for better or for worse, depending) - my doctor was pretty insistent that I start on pitocin less than 12 hours after my water broke with no contractions, for instance, when I hoped to wait longer to see if I could get things going - but I also agree that they are very competent. I've recommended them to more than a few friends looking for a provider and will continue to do so.
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I go to Dr Rodgers at Spring OBGYN and couldn’t be happier. She’s matter of fact, to the point and very thorough. Has a really good bedside manner and I have complete trust in her that she has my and my child’s best interest. I delivered with her at NYU 4 years ago and pregnant w my second due in July. I have to say the one downside, but this is true for most NYC practices, is there’s no guarantee as to which dr will actually deliver you. There’s also one dr I didn’t love, Dr Chu. I found her to be an alarmist and didn’t connect with her as easily. The rest were great.
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I delivered my second with Spring obgyn and had a wonderful experience. I loved all the doctors (they have midwives too!). I also like NYU the l&d nurses are top notch. Best of luck whatever you decide and congrats!
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I was 39 when I had my son in 2018, and I went to Spring OBGYN. I had some complications, which led to them inducing me at 36 1/2 weeks. They were very hesitant to do a c-section, and only decided to do so when it was really the only option. I saw many of the doctors of the practice and I really liked them all. I felt really well taken care of by them. That being said, I needed a lot of intervention.
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I delivered both of my boys with Spring Street OBGYN, and have been with them since 2006. I cannot speak more highly of them. You can't go wrong with any of the doctors. Even the front desk staff is amazing and know me by name.
  • Experience with Park Slope Midwives or Spring OBGYN?

I delivered at NYU and thought it was a great hospital. Not sure if this was everyone’s experience, but since it’s a teaching hospital, I felt like I was constantly being checked by someone. Constantly. And always a new nurse or new PA. I didn’t know any better so thought it was what happens when you’re giving birth (in my case, being induced).
  • Ob/GYN recommendation

I second the Spring St. reco. I’ve seen several of their doctors and had very positive experiences across the board. Their front desk staff is very organized as well.
  • Ob/GYN recommendation

I love (almost) all the doctors at Spring St OBGYN. You can’t go wrong with them.
  • Anyone deliver at NYU & can recommend a great OB?

I also highly recommend spring obgyn! I love Dr. Wade but met with most of the doctors there and they all seemed great! Dr. Rodgers is another popular favorite there. Feel free to reach out with any specific questions!
  • Anyone deliver at NYU & can recommend a great OB?

I just delivered at NYU with Spring OBGYN (Dr Wade specifically) and had a great experience. There were some issues w NYU generally, namely their anesthesiologists, but Dr Wade was a pro, amazing and supportive, and just what I needed. I would recommend getting in w them v early tho because they fill up really quickly at their practice! We saw all of the OBs before delivering, and particularly loved Dr Maldonado, Dr Cho, Dr Wade, and Dr Rogers. Congratulations!
  • Anyone deliver at NYU & can recommend a great OB?

I am 35 weeks pregnant and have had a good experience with Spring OBGYN in SOHO. They deliver at NYU Langone - Tisch in Midtown East. My OB is Dr Wade but all the doctors there seem very friendly and competent.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

We did the childbirth class at Spring St Ob-Gyn. It wasn't great. It was fine but not a ton we didn't already know - I'd recommend going elsewhere if I was to do it again.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

I think they had good follow-through during tougher times during my pregnancy and were pretty no-nonsense. I liked that it was easy to reach someone with questions and they treated all concerns seriously. I wanted to push in a different position, but it was all over pretty quickly and on the whole, I think it all went well enough (the birth that is).
  • 2018 Review

I primarily saw Dr.Rodgers during my pregnancy, and Dr.Maldonado delivered my baby. Both are wonderful, no-nonsense doctors. Also rotated through the rest of the doctors and they all seem great. Delivery at NYU langone was also smooth.
  • Re: ISO Advice ObGyn delivering at Tisch?

I love Spring OBGYN in SoHo. They are a larger practice and any one of the 7 or so drs can deliver, depending who is on call, but they are all fabulous (and female). They don’t accept many insurances so be sure to call them to find out. Downtown women also delivers at NYU - I don’t have personal experience but have heard great things.
  • Re: ISO Advice ObGyn delivering at Tisch?

Congrats! We were very happy with Spring Obgyn, their office is in soho and they deliver at nyu tisch.

I could not be happier with my experience at Spring OB/GYN. All of the providers are friendly, supportive, thorough and knowledgeable. The office staff are great and I never waited long for an appointment. I saw Bonnie the midwife during my early pregnancy then rotated through all of the providers. Dr. Feldman delivered my son and she also happened to be my favorite provider. She was very encouraging and calm during my labor and birth and I highly recommend her. The practice overall is very supportive of natural birth as well. Based on November, 2016 birth experience
  • Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

Excellent. I have delivered both my girls with Spring. Midwife Bonnie Yim was my primary provider. Drs. Cho and Feldman delivered my daughters. I thought that the care was excellent and all of my questions were answered. Recommend without hesitation. Based on Sept 2016 birth experience

REVIEW: Great practice of doctors and nurses. Dr. Rodgers is smart and to the point but always kind. They do not push induction and were supportive of my drug-free birth. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wishes to deliver at NYU. INSURANCE They were great with UHC filing and follow-up. One of my tests was denied and they provided resources to petition and then later settle the claim directly with the lab.

REVIEW: They were diligent, easy to work with and I never waited for an appointment. You rotate around the practice (all female doctors) so you likely won't be delivered by your primary doctor (I wasn't) but I liked all of them. INSURANCE Yes Based on a March 2015 birth

REVIEW: I saw Dr Wade on a regular basis during my pregnancy and met all of the delivering staff at Spring before I gave birth. Dr Maldonado delivered my daughter at NYU. I really liked Dr Wade as my regular practitioner. She's very friendly, took her time to answer all of my questions and was very pro-doula/pro-natural birth. Likewise, Dr Maldonado was great to have when I delivered. She really went out of her way to make sure that I didn't have any unnecessary interventions, but was also upfront when things had to deviate from my original birth plan. Spring is a busy practice - I found getting early morning appointments was the best way to avoid delays. Overall, I found the practice to be open to what I wanted in pregnancy and delivery, but also there to guide me with the best medical practices. Highly recommended. INSURANCE Spring took insurance and filing claims with them has been fine.

REVIEW: I absolutely loved Spring OB/GYN. My baby was delivered by Dr. Keaty and she was wonderful! I saw Leigh Ann Wade as my regular OB. You don't get to pick who is going to deliver your baby but there wasn't anyone in the practice I didn't like. INSURANCE They took insurance, and I had Cigna. Based on a November 2015 birth
  • Review submitted via 2015 Birth Survey

REVIEW: Lots of docs in the practice - all women. You have a primary doc, but then meet everyone since you don't know who will deliver your baby. Appointments are quick and I rarely waited long. They really count on you to ask questions as long as everything is progressing normally. They sprung into action as soon as something looked not right, however, and were great. Drs Cho and Rodgers were my favorites there. My only complaint about the office is the front desk. While everyone is very nice, it's sometimes hard to reach someone and I've had a few messages get lost. INSURANCE Yes. No filing issues. Based on a Sept 2015 birth

Dr Cho Member Review: I began with Spring OBGYN with Dr Cho but ended up switching to a midwife at 7 months mainly because I wanted more personal attention and I wanted to know that my practitioner would help me have a natural birth. I would wait about 10 min to get called in after I got there. Then I would see an assistant to take my weight and blood pressure, then wait another 10-15 min for Dr Cho to come in. I would speak with her for about 10 min, and then she would leave. Around 6 months I began to speak with her about the birth. She acted like it was very early to talk about it. I wanted a natural birth, and while Dr Cho wasn't against a natural birth, I didn't get the sense that she would go out of her way to help me have one. I ended up moving to Catherine Clark, a midwife in Carroll Gardens, whom I loved. Insurance details: They were great about handling insurance. Review based on birth of 2014 baby

Member Review: I could not have been more happy with Spring OBGYN. As I started to 'roate' from my doctor I was quite nervous but, all the doctors were great. The offices are convienent if you work in the city, comfortable and easy to access. Booking appointments is easy and classes for new moms were good (although limited times). Member Review: I started going to Spring (primarily Bonnie Yim, a nurse-midwife) long before I was trying to get pregnant just for my annual check-ups. It's close to my work and I like the office. I ended up feeling lucky that I was already a patient at the practice when I became pregnant. The providers are all completely competent, all women, all very patient in answering questions. Seriously. They must have had some meeting where they decided to just sit in the room with you until every single one of your questions was answered and maybe others you hadn't thought of. One negative: front office staff is good but not great; same goes for the nursing assistants. They are competent medically, but seemed rather flakey when it came to administrative stuff. This didn't happen all of the time, but just a heads up that I had to learn to be more proactive about things like paperwork or even waiting in the waiting room (I'd check in every now and again with the med assistant if I was waiting for a while). You rotate docs toward the end of your pregnancy. My favorites were Dr. Rodgers and Dr. Feldman. They are no nonsense but gentle and calm. They exude confidence but are not pushy. Dr. Rodgers ended up delivering me. She was awesome. Supportive and a good coach. To put things in context, I had a very uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery -- everything was pretty by the book. I had an epidural (wasn't part of my birth plan, but you know...). No doula, just my husband. I am not someone who drank teas or took fenugreek or anything. Not sure what that says about me -- or about someone who does -- but just saying. I am someone who was worried about having a doctor/practice or hospital that was intervention-happy (luckily, I didn't have issues there). I believe in breastfeeding and the importance of lactation consultants and their message, etc. One other thing -- the practice has a sonogram technician and sonogram capabilities on-site. I guess I didn't realize that all practices may not have this? (I'm not talking about the special imaging stuff, like at Carnegie). It would be a pain to have to get these regular sonograms at another site, like some of my pregnant co-workers had to do. Insurance details: Cigna. No issues. Review based on birth of 2014 baby

  • Re: [PSP] Recs for NYU Langone OBs who accept 3rd trimester transfers?

I second Spring OB/Gyn. I transferred there at around 20 weeks in 2012 and loved everyone there. Delivery was so fast my baby ended up being delivered by the on-call doctor, from an entirely different practice, who was also wonderful. I believe her name was Dr. Niccoll. You could try her too. (Review submitted Jan 2014)
  • Re: [PSP] Recs for NYU Langone OBs who accept 3rd trimester transfers?

Have you called Spring Ob/ Gyn on Spring Street? They take your insurance and are a wonderful group of doctors. They deliver at NYU and give terrific care.

Just one more review of Spring OBGYN. I was assigned to Dr. Cho and also worried that she might be too high-energy for me, but the months of visits revealed her to be empathetic, generous, and smart. She was totally supportive of my desire to try for a VBAC, and even when I never ever went into labor, she agreed to push my induction date back by a week. In fact, I called her the night before my original induction date, like long after work hours, and told her I wanted to wait a few more days. She did not sigh or pause and immediately agreed - even though it fell on the first morning of her vacation. She came in that morning, delivered my baby, and left for her vacation. I love her. Also, I had two near-fainting episodes on my visits, and she never left my side not allowed me to feel silly about it.
  • (no subject)

I agree. She is really concise but also very funny! I was so sad when my frequent visits came to an end after my delivery.

I also want to throw my support behind Spring St- and Dr. Feldman in particular. She has a very low-key, non-alarmist approach-- which I could see being perceived as cold until you get to know her a little better. I had my baby in June- and had mostly positive experiences with all the doctors there. Both my husband and I felt that Dr. Feldman gave us the clearest, most concise information- and after I had seen all the doctors, I was sure to see her weekly leading up to my induction. During my long, difficult labor, she was amazing- and after my baby was in my arms, she took it upon herself (in her non-existent extra time) to go find his new grandparents in the waiting room to tell them their new grandson was finally here and that I had done an amazing job. My husband and I frequently have said we wish we could take her out for a few beers to thank her for everything-- and also just because she's really kind of hilarious. I think it's all about personality fit- but Dr. Feldman is an A+ in my book.

It's too bad your experience with dr Feldman is not so positive. I absolutely love her. I agree that at first, during my pregnancy, I didn't warm up to her as she seemed annoyed with all my questions. But he was on call when I delivered and was absolutely wonderful and supportive. My daughter is now 2 and Dr. Feldman has been my doctor ever since. She has been also very supportive during other situations where I needed her advice. I saw dr Maldonado once during my pregnancy and she was great too. I would say that pretty much all the doctors there are good, except for the midwife (maybe it was someone else 3 years ago but I can't remember her name).

I LOVE Spring. ?Dr. Cho was my primary doctor, and was amazing when I was dealing with potentially very serious complications ("incompatible with life genetic abnormalities") that thankfully turned out not to be present. ?I had a scheduled induction that she started, and she stayed at the hospital 5-6 hours after her shift ended hoping she could be there when I delivered. ?She apologized when she had to leave before I delivered my son and said she only left because she had plans she couldn't cancel. ?Dr. Rodgers finished my induction. ?They were both fabulous - professional and kind. ?My delivery was rough - the induction took a very long time and I ended up with an insanely awful migraine that had me in a lot of pain, and my son was in a fair amount of fetal distress. ?I always felt like I was in very good hands. Their office if professional, organized, and I rarely waited more than 10 minutes (which was certainly not the case with the other OBs I have seen). ?I know that everyone's experience is different, but I trust them and like them very much.

I love Dr. Feldman and was so bummed when she wasn't on call the day I went to the hospital but I had Dr. Maldonado and she's just as great in my experience. Dr. Feldman was on-call the following day and came by to see me with a book for the baby in hand.

I had a very positive experience with the practice as a whole. My primary doctor was Rodgers and I was very happy with her. I was very fortunate and was able to deliver following my birth plan (as natural as possible sans epidural) and felt that my preferences were supported and respected. Dr. Rodgers also happened to be on call and delivered my son this past January and I was pleased with the whole experience. I will say this though, aside from Dr. Maldonado, the Drs at this practice are not the warmest bunch, but in my experience they were knowledgeable, respectful of my birth plan, timely addressed all of my concerns and though cautious not alarmist.
  • (no subject)

I delivered with Spring Street OBGYN in mid October. Overall my experiences there were good. I agree that not all the doctors there have the gentlest bedside manner, but I thought they all seemed sharp and confident and I trusted them. My primary doctor was Dr. Cho, but Dr. Maldonado was on call when I delivered, and she was great. Very calm and supportive (although my delivery wasn't particularly difficult). I also liked Dr. Cho. It's true she can be a bit high-energy, but I liked the fact that she was very thorough without being alarmist whenever there seemed to be a slight problem in the pregnancy.? My only reservation about recommending Spring St is that it's a large practice, and you rotate to meet them all so that you're theoretically comfortable with whoever is on call when you deliver. My husband and I just barely managed to meet all the doctors ONCE before I went into labor. Very feasibly I could have gone into labor one or two weeks earlier and been with a doctor I'd never met.

I actually had mixed feelings about Doctor Feldman, too, before having my baby. I switched to Spring OB/GYN when i was halfway through my pregnancy, and she was the last doctor I met at the practice, and the one I felt least comfortable with. She came across as brusque and a little dismissive of some of my concerns. Of course, she turned out to be the on-call doctor when I went into labor! My labor and delivery went so fast that I barely made it to the hospital, and Dr. Feldman wasn't able to get there before the Baby did (it wasn't her fault, it was mine for not calling her sooner - I didn't realize I was in labor even though this was my second child)! She arrived about 5 minutes later, and was incredibly apologetic, very professional, and very kind and caring. She missed out on the fun part (delivering the baby) and got stuck with delivering the placenta, stitching me up, and doing all of my follow-up care. I came to really appreciate her, and I concluded she simply has a bedside manner that takes a little getting used to.

I delivered at NYU. I would say my experience there was very good. They seem to be ranked #1 in this section. I highly recommend my OBGYN, but they are in Soho. It's a clinic of 6 or 7 female doctors and 2 midwives. They're called Spring OBGYN. check out their webisite: www.springobgyn.com. Ask for Dr. Feldman or Dr. Easterlin. (September 2011)

My doctor is at Spring OBGYN, which is affiliated with NYU. I delivered there about 10 months ago, also, and we had an extremely positive experience with both our doctor and the hospital. Feel free to contact me with questions. (September 2011)

Spring OB/GYN (in SoHo) accepts Oxford Liberty. I have been very happy with their care, and they deliver at NYU/Langone.
  • Dr. Feldman

Dr. Feldman at Spring OBGYN in SOHO is wonderful! She is calm, assertive, supportive, easy to communicate with and sensitive to your feelings/needs. (Jan 2011)

I highly recommend Dr. Heidi Flagg at Spring Street OBGYN. I just delivered with her and she was great. She accepts United Health Care and is affiliated and delivers at NYU, which I found to be a really great place to deliver. Several of my friends delivered there as well. As a first time mom, I needed help getting started with breast feeding. all the nurses were great at helping me establish breast feeding with my son and that great start really seems to have helped us. I ended up having a scheduled C-section because of a breech baby, and Dr. Flagg came in to perform my c-section on a day she was not scheduled to be on call at the hospital. She came in early to do my c-section before going to the office to do her full day of seeing patients. I liked all of the other doctors in her practice as well. Also, on all of my visits to her practice, i think i only had 1 or 2 times when i waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. (Recommended, March 2010)

This is probably overkill at this point, but I loved Spring OB/GYN, too. Bonnie Yim delivered my son six years ago and she was great. I also like the other doctors they work with--the sonogram Dr. they work with (Margano?) is wonderful and Bonnie found good surgeon to help her mend an internal tear after labor that she could have done herself--but she wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause me trouble later on. Don't know if Dr. Flagg is still there, be she was my Gyn and I really liked her. (Recommended April 2010)

I also had a terrific experience with Spring OB/GYN (Cara Dodson delivered my daughter and she was AMAZING). I saw their midwife Bonnie Yim for nearly all of my pregnancy (she would have delivered Annabel - but she doesn't work on weekends and An was born on a Sunday morning). But I met all the doctors before she was born and I felt confident that they were all very supportive of natural birth. Dr. Dodson was loving and encouraging. If you are dead-set on a midwife they may not be for you because, as I mentioned above, Bonnie doesn't work on weekends so there is a chance she won't be able to deliver your kid. I also really loved their sono woman - she was always excitedabout looking at the baby -- and imagine how many she has seen! Also I could always get early morning appointments and never had to wait very long. I highly recommend them as a practice. I will definitely go with them if I have another baby! (Recommended April 2010)

Yes, yes, yes! I used Spring OB/GYN before, during and after the birth of my son and loved them. My particular doctor was Dr. Cara Dodson, and Emily White actually performed the delivery, but I did meet everyone in the practice beforehand and would have been comfortable with any one of them being present. I had a birth plan and didn't want any interference, unnecessary episiotomies or drugs, inducements, etc. and she was incredible supportive and didn't pressure me at all even when things weren't going as quickly or easily as we had all hoped. Unfortunately they don't take my new insurance so I was forced to switch, but I would go back there in a heartbeat if I could. Good luck! (Recommended April 2010)
