What month and year was your child born? December 2022 Review: I really like the practice and had been seeing another doctor there for a long time but she doesn't deliver any longer so kinda got thrown into Dr Onbreyt's orbit. After 22 weeks you start seeing all the delivering doctors and I liked all of them but one, Dr Rogers. Having cycled through all of the dr's, I would have probably preferred to work with Dr Feldman or Reisman. The visits were often short and to the point, I felt as someone over 40 they were super cautious about everything. During the delivery, things got a little rocky. I was pushing for 3 hours and finally we had to change course and we decided to go with Forceps. I wish the doctor had explained the potential issues that could occur after delivery because I might have gone in a different direction if I had known things that i know now.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? August 2022 Review: At Spring, their system is to have you with a primary Dr until you reach approx 30 weeks then you rotate staff to ensure you have meet your OB when you give birth. Dr Reisner saw me through the first 6 months of my pregnancy as my primary contact. She was very kind, gentle and never made me feel as if my questions were tiresome or odd or overly cautious. She took a lot of time with me and was reassuring but also really knowledgeable. I had COVID 2 days before my induction date and saw Dr Feldman via telehealth, she also delivered me. I was so so so pleased to be in her care. She was so calm and relaxed and made me feel so comforted. She was amazing in the delivery room. I will absolutely request her again when I have a 2nd baby. She 100% made for a brilliant birth experience.OBGYN for VBAC Question
I had an emergency c section with my first with Spring (Dr. Onbreyt) and had a successful VBAC through the same practice (Dr. Wade). All of the doctors were totally supportive of my intention to try for a VBAC, and the NYULMC staff was amazing during both labors and births. I'm not sure what you've heard from others, but I found nothing but support and help with Spring OBGYN. They had me schedule a c section ahead of time so I would have a spot on the calendar, but were clear that it was just for scheduling purposes and I never felt pressure to go that route.MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed
I can’t be sure about what insurance they accept, but Spring OB/Gyn delivers at NYU. Sadly they don’t take my insurance (BCBS) anymore though and they didn’t take high risk patients with my two pregnancies but I started out there before finding out I was high risk and was happy with them.Advice on prioritizing experience vs. proximity for pregnancy care
I personally would prioritize how comfortable I am with the provider and what I’ve heard about the delivery experience at the associated hospital. I traveled to go to Spring OBGYN (granted it was fairly close to my office) and would highly recommend. I also hardly ever had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment, so all in the time it took was less than during my 1st pregnancy when I went somewhere within walking distance but where I always had to wait for 30+ minutes. In terms of delivery, I had a scheduled induction both times, but I was a bit nervous leading up to my due dates and knowing I would potentially have to get into Manhattan while in labor. I’d give some thought to how much anxiety that will give you personally both in the moment and leading up to the day. For what it’s worth, Spring delivers at NYU and I had a great experience there and they now have all private recovery rooms (with no extra charge)!Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? April 2022 Review: Amazing team of doctors, especially Dr. Reisner. I ended up having to get a c-section but she let me labor for a long time and exhaust all options before going through with it. She really worked thoughtfully and carefully with me, the nurses, my husband and our doula. When I told Dr. Reisner I had anxiety over medical procedures, she personally stayed with me throughout all of surgery prep and did her best to talk to me and chat to help calm my nerves.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? 5/22 Review: I liked the ease of scheduling appointments and doing most imaging in office. They rotate through doctors in your third trimester so you can meet everyone because whoever is on call is who delivers. I like that and most of the doctors I met, but also sometimes felt like the lack of continuity from appointment to appointment could lead to something being missed. We lucked out with the doctor on call during delivery, she was a superstar, though I think we would have been happy with anyone in the practice delivering.Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
I had a great birthing experience with Spring OB-GYN. I was induced at 39 weeks, due to insulin controlled gestational diabetes and AMA, so I got to schedule the birth with my regular doctor (Dr. Rodgers). She was an amazing advocate for me. I was pushing for a couple of hours, and the hospital was really pushing a c-section. I can't prove it, but I think they wanted me to get a C for capacity issues. Dr. Rodgers firmly insisted to them that I was able to give birth vaginally, almost getting in an argument, and won. It was pretty great. I didn't put a ton of thought into my birth plan, but it Dr. Rodgers honored what I put down, and referenced it multiple times.Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
Amazing - I couldn't recommend the entire team at Spring OBGYN moreNYU OBGYN rec?
Currently using Spring OBGyn for my first. Seeing Dr. Rodgers - she's exactly as described by others. I like the staff at NYU that does my sonos as well. Feeling really well taken care of by all.NYU OBGYN rec?
I also love Spring OBGyn. My usual OB is Dr Rodger, and she and Dr Wade have each delivered one of my children. Both are thorough, non-alarmist, but straightforward. Appointment wait times do vary per other's feedback... they got much better during covid though.NYU OBGYN rec?
I second the Spring OBGyn recommendation! Have been going to Dr. Onbreyt for years, I love her! Had an emergency situation handled with her once that was performed so expertly and compassionately I’ll never forget it. Also have experience with Dr. Rodgers (!) and Dr. Wade as well, but it’s really true they’re all quite awesome.NYU OBGYN rec?
I loved spring obgyn with my first. Dr Feldman is straightforward and to the point. Their wait times are terrible though (maybe it’s improved in the past 5 years).NYU OBGYN rec?
Spring OBGYN in SoHo! I love Dr Wade but they’re all great.Review from the 2021 Birthing Experience Survey
I am so happy to be a patient of Spring OBGYN. They were caring and supportive of my pregnancy and sensitive to my feelings following several miscarriages. I also delivered prematurely and felt heard and supported by the Spring team, and Dr. Wade particularly. Their front desk staff is organized and friendly and each of the doctors I saw for prenatal care took time with me and made me feel comfortable and cared for.ISO: NYU OBGYN
Another vote for spring. Dr Maldonado delivered both my girls (1 vaginal and 1 c section). She helped us through miscarriages and many many ups and downs. I have a great relationship with Drs Cho, Onbreyt and Wade (because I happened to see them more, had a ECV with one, discharge etc...) but they are all amazing. The nurses and admin are also wonderful. We also have experience with Mary Miller the genetics counselor from when we had a horrible scare early on with our second pregnancy - she is an incredible human being. Happy to answer specific questions.ISO: NYU OBGYN
Agreed re Spring! Dr Feldman is my normal doc, but Dr Wade delivered our daughter and Dr Cho was around for discharge. I have liked most of the doctors I saw while rotating during my pregnancy and felt like they coordinate tightly so it didn’t feel impersonal or like I was starting from scratch with any of them.ISO: NYU OBGYN
Could not agree more! Have been going there for the last 8 years to Dr. Onbreyt, who caringly led me through some trying medical issues. Dr. Rodgers is also fantastic, thorough, caring and sharp. We had our son just this last September at NYU Langone, and having made the rotation through the staff at Spring beforehand to make sure I knew whoever ended up being on call, I can confirm they all have similar wonderful impressions. Dr. Cho actually delivered my baby! Highly recommend.ISO: NYU OBGYN
I personally liked Spring ObGYN - Dr Elizabeth Rodgers and Dr Linda Cho, in particular. While a rotation of doctors, I always felt very comfortable and “familiar” with them.Need new OB after difficult pregnancy
It’s outside your preferred range and they only deliver at NYU, but I really liked Spring OBGYN. I moved to them after three miscarriages and bad experiences with Downtown Women. They were also recommended by my reproductive endocrinologist at RMA. My OB at Spring actually told me that I could “come in anytime” if I was feeling anxious, which I often was and I did make several extra appointments where they were kind and reassuring to me. They were extremely compassionate and didn’t make me feel “wrong” by feeling my feelings about the pregnancy.OBGYN rec
I ended up going in the city - downtown though, at Spring Street OBGYN and have had a great experience generally.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Dr. Reisner is wonderful! She is caring, intelligent and made me and my husband feel so comfortable during delivery during this crazy Corona time. Highly recommend her and the other doctors at Spring.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

They were wonderful, esp given the pandemicReview from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Woman only practice- 8 doctors. Felt a bit impersonal due to Covid and appointments being very quick. I did not get delivered by my main dr which was disappointing. They we’re mostly all nice. Dr Reisner delivered my baby via c section but Dr Rodgers and Maldonado were my favorite obs.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
"Spring OB Gyn offered a class called ""Bringing Baby Home"". It attempts to teach new parents how to take care of newborns like how to hold them, change them (diapers and clothes), bathe them, etc. It was probably not worth the time and money, but not sure if it's a curriculum issue or instructor issue. You practice on dolls, it felt slow and touchy feely. I would have preferred to learn more quickly about the practicalities and spend time on how to engage with your partner and navigate this major change in relationship."Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
"This is a group practice. I actually met a few different providers before settling on Dr. Linda Cho. Dr. Cho was really warm, attentive and patient with my questions and needs. I really liked her and had hoped she would be on rotation when I delivered. However, as a group practice on delivery day, your doctor depends on who is on rotation that day. My daughter was delivered by Dr. Katherine Keaty, who has since left the practice. I felt she was not as gentle or considerate with her examinations, and I was confused by whether her multiple calls for using the vaccuum to get the baby out if the next push wasn't successful were to rush a natural process that I had limited control over, or ""encourage"" me to push harder."Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Very good experience. They work in a "team model"; patients see all the doctors rather than having a dedicated physician. There was good continuity between providers; they each always knew what was going on down to the details, and they have fairly similar demeanors.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Wade, Greenwald and Rodgers were there at the end. I loved my experience at Spring OB- with so many doctors to choose from, it made it much easier for my extended birthing experience. By the time I gave birth, we filtered through 3 different OBs in the hospital. Throughout my pregnancy, I was able to meet all 10 OBs in the practice (some multiple times) and got to know them well.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I loved themReview from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I love this practice. Dr Wade was attentive and focused on my well being and my needs. She was committed to helping me delivery quickly and safely and had my best interests at heart. In the end, I lost a lot of blood and a new team was called in as protocol, but she staid the whole time to reassure me I was fine and everything was going well.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Dr Feldman is incredible and I can’t say enough good things about her. She is caring, calm, and confident. I have full trust in her and she was very supportive through several miscarriages that I had between my two children. I genuinely miss seeing her regularly when I’m not pregnant!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I was generally very pleased with my experience at Spring, and also had a good labor/birthing experience with Dr. Feldman. I appreciated the opportunity to meet all the doctors during my pregnancy so that I would at least have a familiar face when I was in labor. The practice can be more conservative/risk averse, but generally I felt listened to and supported throughout!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I loved all the doctors here - Dr. Feldman was my primary, but because she had a child halfway through my pregnancy and they rotate anyway I ended up seeing a lot of different doctors in the practice and it they were all great. Dr. Rodgers ended up being my doctor for the delivery and she was just awesome. She was appropriately calm and confidence boosting, and I just felt I was in good hands.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Spring OB/GYN is a group practice with all women doctors. You see one doctor for the first 28 weeks of pregnancy and then rotate through the others at subsequent appointments so that you get to know everyone in advance of your delivery, as the doctor on call when you go into labor will be the one to deliver your baby. They refer you to Carnegie Imaging in midtown for ultrasounds, nutritionists, etc. My experience at Spring Street was good — the doctors are nice and were responsive any time I reached out with questions or concerns. Dr. Greenwald delivered my baby, and we had a positive experience with her. I would not recommend this practice for anyone who is interested in an unmedicated birthing experience. While they did not push me to have any unnecessary interventions, it seems like the majority of their patients have epidurals.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Loved my experience! Appointments were generally on time and the office staff was very friendly. My minor complaint is that it was sometimes difficult to schedule appointments during my preferred time slots and the office staff had a hard time keeping track of which doctors I had met with once I started rotating appointments- if you plan in advance and stay organized then everything should be fine. My primary doctor was Dr. Greenwald but Dr. Onbreyt delivered our son. Even though this wasn’t the plan, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I ended up needing an emergency c-section - Dr. Onbreyt was a calming presence during the hectic prep, and her professionalism and ability to explain things in a factual yet empathetic manner was appreciated.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I worked with Dr. Cho and really liked her. I was with Downtown Women for my first child and really didn't like them - I liked how with Spring you were with the same provider for the first 28 weeks before seeing a different one each time.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
This is a great practice with many good doctors to choose from. They are also very responsive to questions via their online portal. While my original provider was Dr. Rodgers, as an OB patient you are encouraged to have visits with all the doctors because you don't know who will be on call when you give birth. I liked most of the doctors I saw, and ultimately delivered with Dr. Feldman. I had such a positive experience delivering with her that I have decided to switch to her as my main doctor. All of the doctors are calm, informative, and allow you to own your experience. I did not have a strict birth plan so I was very happy to take their guidance on delivery day (my water broke early so I needed to be induced with pitocin anyway), and I appreciated that Dr. Feldman allowed my baby to make her own way down before pushing so that it wasn't too taxing on me- even though I had drugs, she also balanced it with my baby's natural process. The only thing i wish is that I knew very little about pregnancy and birth, and I didn't even really know what questions to ask. Because it's a group practice, there is less personal touch, and more of a business-like efficiency approach. I would have liked a little more "bedside" manner during my prenatal visits to help with first mom nerves during a pandemic, and an extreme lack of knowledge.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I liked that I got to meet everyone in the practice though they couldn't guarantee who would deliver my child. If it was an option to be able to have an OB where you knew they and only they would be your delivery doctor that would be my preference, but that doesn't seem like a thing anymore.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I love this practice. Dr Wade was attentive and focused on my well being and my needs. She was committed to helping me delivery quickly and safely and had my best interests at heart. It is a great practice. All women, and you cycle through-so that you have met whoever is on call when you go into labor. We had some minor complications during delivery, and the dr. stayed so calm and continued to motivate me and made me feel taken care of.OB recommendation
Another vote for Spring! They rotate as well.OB recommendation
I really liked spring obgyn. They rotate as well, but they also do it during check ups so at delivery, you will have seen the doctor that delivers you.HELLLOOOO??? Welcome May 2020 Families!
We stuck with our OB, Dr. Wade at Spring Street OB/GYN, and will be delivering at NYU again. We had a great experience with both. (January 2020)HELLLOOOO??? Welcome May 2020 Families!
As far as doctors go - I used Dr. Onberyt at Spring OB/Gyn in Manhattan. So far she has been very kind fairly laid back (which I appreciate). All the doctors at Spring OB/Gyn deliver at NYU hospital in the city. I had initially been looking for MDs that deliver at Methodist because it is so close to my apt., but all my friends that live in the neighborhood told me they go to doctors in Manhattan and/or delivered at NYU. I obviously personally have never delivered at NYU, but my sister did and she seemed to be pretty happy with the service. The facilities definitely seem very nice/new. (December 2019)HELLLOOOO??? Welcome May 2020 Families!
I’ve been with Spring OBGYN and currently see Dr. Wade. It’s also a group practice but you have a primary through 28 weeks and then start rotating through so you meet everyone. I love all the doctors there. I’ve noticed they seem quite a bit busier these days so appointments can feel a little rushed but still send my friends there. (December 2019)HELLLOOOO??? Welcome May 2020 Families!
I’m with Dr. Wade at Spring Ob/Gyn, where I’ve been for years. I like Dr. Maldonado there too. The practice is cozy but practical and they offer early AM appointments that run on time. It’s an all female practice and they also deliver at NYU. I considered switching to Methodist closer to home (I’m in Boerum Hill), but was discouraged reading about the wait times at doctor’s visits. I also considered NYP Lower Manhattan but would have to switch insurance plans and just seemed overwhelming. Plus, despite being crowded, it seems like NYU is great for delivery and has a high level NICU just in case! I’ve read some scary things but the handful of people I know that had babies there had great experiences so fingers crossed! (December 2019)2019 Birth Survey
The practice is very popular, so the physicians don't spend a lot of time during your prenatal appointments (pretty typical for NYC). You need to really take control of your own health and ask questions in order to understand what's going on, especially when test results come back and a nurse calls just to say everything is "normal" without giving any specific results. I was told things were normal and then at 20 weeks had to start medication suddenly when my thyroid tests were progressively abnormal and no one had alerted me to it beforehand. I also gave birth on a particularly busy day and my doctor spent less than 30 mins with me during the whole process (including delivery and repairs). Everything was delegated to nurses and interns/residents.2019 Birth Survey
Not worth the time and money, the main topic we covered was birthing positions during labor, and I only found it minimally helpful. (Childbirth Class)2019 Birth Survey
Spring was overall great. The front desk staff could be a little brusque (as is typical with doctors' offices these days) but all of the doctors and medical staff were great. All of my portal questions were promptly answered. From other women I've talked to it seems like they take a middle approach to testing during pregnancy. Dr. Rodgers was my primary doctor and happened to be my doctor for delivery as well, which I appreciated as I knew her best. She is great - no-nonsense, a little wry, kind without being falsely cheery. Dr. Maldonado was on duty for the first half of the day I was in labor, and although I had never met her before I also found her very easy to work with. They definitely know their stuff. Spring (and the a-maz-ing nurses at NYU) deserve a lot of credit for managing to avoid a c-section for me even though I had to be induced after my water broke and was not progressing for a long time. My one frustration is that I wound up with a small episiotomy; I do not really know if this was preventable, as by the time they decided it was necessary I had been in labor a long time (though not pushing a long time) and was pretty out of it. I also know they were monitoring the baby pretty closely at that point and there were likely reasons for wanting to move things along. I asked about the c-section rates when first meeting with them, but hadn't thought to ask about episiotomies as I thought (perhaps naively) that it was rare these days. Overall, I would recommend Spring as a great choice if you're looking for the fairly traditional route and want to work with a doctor and give birth in a hospital.2018 Birth Survey
I had a great experience with Spring OB/GYN. I saw each of the OBs at the practice throughout my pregnancy, and liked all of them. Dr. Cho was originally on duty when I arrived at the hospital, but my labor progressed slowly and Dr. Onbreyt eventually delivered my daughter. Dr. Onbreyt was amazing. Another woman was actually delivering at the exact same time as I was, but Dr. Onbreyt seamlessly helped me through my labor as she was helping her other patient. It was incredible.[Summer2017Babies] OBGYN
We had an excellent experience with Spring OB/GYN. They're in SOHO, close to lots of subways, and they deliver at NYU (which was also a great experience for us). Their admin staff was great with appointments (which you can even book online, a real bonus) FMLA paperwork, insurance problems, etc. Overall the place has a really positive vibe and we never had to wait long for appointments. Dr. Kathryn Keaty delivered our baby and I'd recommend her as a primary doctor there. Later on in your pregnancy you rotate through all the doctors so you can get to know them a bit in case someone besides your primary is on call when you go into labor. All the doctors were great. Overall a really excellent experience with them - couldn't recommend them enough.[Spring2016Babies] Need New OBGYN
A third for Spring OBGYN! Sadly I don’t think they take Oscar; give them a call though because it could have changed. Their practice is amazing.[Spring2016Babies] Need New OBGYN
I go to Spring OBGYN in Soho and see Dr Rodgers. Shes fantastic! Not sure about Oscar insurance... They deliver at NYU as well.Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey
I have conflicted feelings about Spring. Positives were that appointments were easy to schedule and if you like early morning appointments, it is very easy to schedule. All the doctors I rotated with were very pleasant and never demeaned my concerns or questions. I loved the doctor that delivered me - Dr. Feldman. She is very down to earth and a recent mother. I even went so far as to schedule my induction with her just because I felt so comfortable with her. I did have some concerns and frustrations with the practice, however. They definitely are on the conservative side. Decisions, tests, etc were always presented as 'musts' and you were never offered a choice. If you are hoping for more selection and freedom in your birth plan and journey, I would look elsewhere or be sure to stay strong in the knowledge that your journey is a choice. They are a large practice and definitely advise by the book (hence my inducement before my due date, which I still believe could have been delayed until the actual date). Based on a October 2017 birthing experience.Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey
Excellent care before, during and after birth. Highly recommend the doctors and wider team at this practice - they were all professional yet caring and warm. I felt my concerns were taken seriously throughout the pregnancy and any issues resolved swiftly. Dr Rogers delivered our son and was exceptionally supportive in the lead up to and during his birth. I felt confident and calm as a result and the experience could not have been better. Based on a October 2017 birthing experience.Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

Liked most of the doctors in this practice and loved the doctor who delivered my younger son (dr. Wade). She was patient and didn't force any interventions to speed things up. Based on a March 2017 birthing experienceReview submitted via the PSP Birth Survey
Dr Kathryn Keaty/spring OBGYN I had a good experience with spring. They cycle you through doctors since they have whoever is on call deliver your baby but I liked all the doctors and wound up delivering with my main dr (Keaty). She was always very responsive to my emails (like same day, every little question) and great about checking in with other docs I was seeing to meet special birth needs. I appreciated how she handled the birth after a difficult really long labor-the birth itself turned out to be pretty smooth and quick based on her strategy! The office itself was pleasant, organized, almost never had a long wait. Friendly receptionists & nurses. I am still glad i had a doula though in order to get more detailed advice and personal support in the days leading up to birth Based on October 2016 birth experienceReview submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey
I really like Spring OB/GYN. I see Dr Feldman and she is super easy going, which is the kind of temperament I need. Dr Keaty delivered and she is very upbeat, which was very helpful during the pushing process. Based on May 2016 birthing experienceReview submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey
Childbirth Class Review: Review: This was a four hour evening course meant to provide a general overview of the phases of labor and childbirth. Since I was not planning to have a natural birth, and therefore not as concerned with practicing different coping methods, I thought this class was perfect. It was very thorough and informative. I really like this practice. It's all women and I found all the doctors very supportive. You rotate among the doctors. Dr Rodgers is my favorite although Dr Cho delivered me and it was a good delivery. I did have some issues getting through on the phone to make appointments a couple of times however.
