  • Review from the 2024 Summer Camp Survey

Location: 14b 53rd Street, 3rd floor, Brooklyn, NY REVIEW: This was my son’s favorite sports camp from the previous summer (we tried 3 different ones) so this summer we decided to exclusively sign him up for this one. He really enjoyed this camp! He liked the coaches and the vibe of the place. Your kids should love soccer since all day is spent on soccer and it feels like a soccer immersive experience. They do get a break in which kids can either engage in water play in their outdoor space, play FIFA video games or board games. It’s great not having to apply sunscreen since they spend most of the day indoors. The only major con is that it’s difficult to get to. We carpooled with other parents but it’s a bit of trek to get to via public transit. CHANGES: I do wish the space was fully air conditioned. They cool off the field area with fans so it can get a bit warm though I imagine it’s cooler than being in the blazing sun if you’re doing an outdoor soccer camp. They have a lounge area which is kept cooler. DETAILS: Age of child; 11.5 … Weeks attended: 3

Location: 14b 53rd St 3rd floor, Brooklyn, NY 11232 How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 10 Review: If you are any level of soccer this camp is an awesome option! The camp is in Socceroof so even really hot or rainy days camp runs as planned and they group the kids into different skill levels while still allowing different groups to play together a ton. My son who was advanced still played a lot with his good friend who is a beginner! The schedule is very flexible, the counselors are all familiar with Socceroof and since there is a snack bar on the off chance that you are coming back from being away and have no food in the house you can send your kid with money to buy lunch there too! All around a great camp if your kid is showing any interest in soccer. Great for boys and girls! What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? The actual location is tough to get to - we drive mostly but we have taken the R and walked the long blocks to the Whale building from 4th Ave which isn't ideal. The facility is great though so this isn't a problem with Socceroof but just physically it is hard to get to and from there.
  • Review from the 2022 Party Survey

Great indoor space with street parking available, but not necessarily the most walkable neighborhood. Inside was new and set up for our birthday, with ample space for parents + siblings. We rented 2 fields for 20 kids + a soccer instructor. Has a ton of potential to be a great birthday party spot once they get their act together and more actively manage timing of things to make it easy on parents. Instructor was nice, but didn't do much as far as organized games, more just walked around and kicked the ball with the kids, which parents could do themselves. We provided snacks + pizza + cake through the venue. Team was responsive over email, but next time, I would bring my own food (which defeats the purpose of doing a party like this!) - it was a Costco veggie platter + chips and guac that were on their way to being expired. Cake tasted good and was simple, but massive, had a ton left over that I felt bad throwing away. They did not have a lighter for the candles which was a bit annoying. We also had to proactively ask several times for drinks and utensils & plates. We proactively had to ask for more drinks, utensils, etc.

  • Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Atlantic ave crown heights How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 7 Review: So great and relatively affordable. Downside is that it ends early at 3ish. If your kid loves soccer, this is the spot. Indoors so no weather cancellation. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Have a 6pm pickup.
  • Shout out for Socceroof learning lab

Just wanted to give a shout out to Socceroof in Sunset Park. The place is HUGE, clean and airy. My son has been going there since September on his “off” blended days. The kids are 10 ft away from each other during class time. There is a tutor/coach who helps the kids log on to classes and do their work. In the afternoon the kids are very active with sports and games. Now that in person learning is on hold, I will be send my son there 5x a week. When you opt for a monthly membership the price is VERY reasonable. Hours are great 8-4 and they have extended days as well. Check it out and support a local business.
