Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? January 2023 Review: Robina gets to know you as a person and truly cares about you. She's warm and accessible and knowledgable in every way you need her to be. Can't recommend her enough if you're looking to have a home birth.Homebirth midwives
My 2021 homebirth was with Tanya Wills (now of Manhattan Birth) and Robina Khalid (of Small Things Grow). I have nothing but good things to say about them and my homebirth!Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
Absolutely incredible. I worked with Robina Khalid and Tanya Wills. They were the wisest, most caring and empowering midwives I’ve ever met.Homebirth midwife costs?
My midwife, Small Things Grow, uses a billing service to try and get coverage for services. I was given a list of codes to use for preauthorizing my care with Aetna. Because there are no in-network providers for the services, they allowed me to use a loophole that makes the provider in-network. Unfortunately because Aetna is a snake I’m still going back and forth with them on the payments, but because it’s all preauthorized on paper they will eventually fully cover all services. The midwives bill them for $16000 but if I didn’t have any insurance coverage I would pay them $10k cash. They also work on a sliding scale depending on circumstances.Midwives offering home births
Always recommend my amazing midwives at Small Things Grow. Not sure if they speak Spanish, but they might have a Spanish-speaking birth assistant who can be there when you’re in labor. (Wouldn’t help for prenatal care, but nice to bridge the gap for birth.)Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
My midwife experience meant so much to me. The midwives of Small Things Grow were compassionate, communicative, and highly skilled. They explained every step of the process in depth. As is traditional in midwifery, they focused on relationship building, which is essential to feeling safe during birth.
