shout out - sip and play on 5th ave and 11th
Sip and Play is awesome! Spent 3 hours today with my 6 year old and it just flew by. I highly suggest people check it out. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, coffee is good and plenty of food options. The game selection can not be beat. Everything from 3 year olds to adults. Perfect place !!!shout out - sip and play on 5th ave and 11th
We've tried out the new board game cafe on 5th ave and 11th a couple times now with our 8 year old and various friends (and most recently, her toddler sibling) and it was such a great time. New small business with a lot of heart. I've seen lots of high schoolers there, happily playing old-fashioned collaborative board games and drinking reasonably priced hot cocoa. They are also working on a liquor license, and apparently already do a more adult crowd on evenings/weekends. My elementary aged daughter LOVES it, and it's so affordable--5 dollars per person for up to three hours gameplay. For middle schoolers who can be unattended, it feels like a very safe/supportive environment. They have a backroom that looks perfect also for parent groups doing newborn days meet-ups up to crawlers, it's got separate doors and I hear they are quiet in mornings. You don't have to pay/play, you can also just get coffee or tea / snacks. I encouraged them to also think about doing sing-a-longs or toddler playtime (if they got some toys/games for littles, which now they don't--it's really elementary and up games), and they were very interested. If anyone wants to get their toddlers together with me to try it out and see if it's a disaster or the best, lemme know. for sure it would work for babies still in strollers/carriers for a low-key spot for moms/dads to break the ice over boggle.
