Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? August 2022 Review: Dr. Yu was very reasonable and calm throughout my pregnancy.I appreciated that because I didn’t want to worry about too much. Appointments were almost all on time, also a huge plus. She does have a very dry sense of humor so maybe wouldn’t be a fit for everyone.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? May 2022 Review: Nice, straight-forward doctor with good bedside manner. This practice is guideline-oriented and definitely follows standard-of-care protocols. This is good, of course, but sometimes disappointing, for example when I would have liked to have a quick ultrasound to see the baby but they would not do it as it was not strictly necessary. Many of my visits were virtual which was also a nice option since they are located on the UES in Manhattan.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? March 2022 Review: OutstandingKnow of an OBGYN with an office in Brooklyn who delivers at either Alexandra Cohen or Weill Cornell?
Agree on the UES OBs - I would recommend Sarah Yu. Excellent, warm (and funny?!) bedside manner, very thorough, but also non-alarmist. She wasn't my primary OB, but she delivered my son when she was still at Lower Manhattan and I had several appointments throughout pregnancy and post partum with her when my regular OB (who I also love, Dr. Szlvia Nagy) was on maternity leave. FWIW, my OB only had delivery rights in NYP Lower Manhattan, and I decided with my third child to deliver at Alexandra Cohen because we were closer to that location when my water broke and worried the baby would come quickly since it was our third. It was a non-issue since all my records were visible within the NYP network, and my OB wasn't on call at Lower Manhattan anyway. So if you are OK not meeting the doctor who will deliver your baby beforehand, then you could do that, though it's not something that's openly encouraged.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Dr. Sarah Yu was great for me. She has been my obgyn for both babies and delivered the 2nd one. The practice in general is very action-oriented meaning you don't get a lot of hand holding or lengthy explanations on being pregnant which I didn't need, there's books and books and books for that. I needed 15 min checkups, short waiting times and every question on my mind (and notebook) answered and that's what I got. She's also very nice, bubbly and I appreciate that she takes the time to read my record before coming into the room, so she's up to date with me even if it's a 15 min visit.2018 Birth Survey
Dr. Yu was great. She's bubbly and kind and patient. Everyone in the practice we met was likable and reassuring. You do need to have a specific list of questions each session otherwise they come in, check you and run out in a flurry. If you have questions, they all made sure to take the time to provide full answers.2018 Birth Survey
She was fantastic. She's friendly, and instantly puts moms-to-be and dads-to-be at ease. She took time and answer all our questions (read: anxiety) carefully without being condescending (like some other doctors that we've come across) throughout my pregnancy. At the same time, she was very effective in giving us her professional views. I ended up having an unplanned C-section, and she did a great job at that too!
