Review from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey
Review: We love it. We are keeping our son there for his 3K year despite there not being free 3K and sending our daughter there next year. The teachers are caring and very invested in each child’s growth. The school is excellent with parent communication. I feel like I know what my child is up to and if I have concerns/questions, they are immediately addressed. They strive to foster community and value outdoor time. Amenities: Has after-school optionsReview from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey
REVIEW: It was a fantastic program, incredibly engaging and fun and supportive. The teachers, Kate and Aliza were especially wonderful. The room itself is great w an indoor playground, and the location is great as they can go to Prospect Park and many other playgrounds in the area.;Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: The program was thoughtfully designed by an experienced teacher with opportunities for child/class-directed units; lots of enrichment (dance/music, yoga, spanish, theater) each week and outdoor time nearby. I would happily do it again (and am doing so with my youngest this year). More coverage than a DOE calendar, which is helpful. Lots of updates in the very user-friendly app. My son came home with an entire "portfolio" of art at the end of the year. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I wouldn't change a thing.Moving to Windsor Terrace/Two’s Programs
Our kid is in the 2s program at Rory's Room currently, and we really love it.Moving to Windsor Terrace/Two’s Programs
We have a great experience with the Rory’s room. My 2yo is there.Moving to Windsor Terrace/Two’s Programs
+1 for Rory’s Room. My two older daughters went there, and my third will, as well. I would suggest applying very soon if you’re considering it.Moving to Windsor Terrace/Two’s Programs
Our daughter is in her second year at Rory's Room and we absolutely love it. I would recommend it to anyone. She is the youngest of three and my middle child went to Maple Street when he was 3. At the time we were transitioning to Kensington from Clinton Hill so we just kept him there. I liked Maple Street too. But I like Rory's Room better-- it's smaller, such a well oiled machine, great communication from the team and honestly as a working mom of three I just never was able to easily give the kind of co-op commitment that was required at Maple Street. The commute to Maple Street was okay-- I found it doable in the short term but do note that if you plan on driving that that traffic route can get super congested so it can take a while. The walk to Rory's Room is an excellent plus.ISO Daycare Recommendations in Windsor Terrace/Kensington

I second Rory's Room.in-person pre-K (program with space in January 2021?
I think Rory's Room may still have space. My son was there last year and we recently transferred back. It's been great. I'd highly recommend and happy to talk in more detail if you have questions.Welcome to the NEW 2018 Kids Group!
B. turned 2 at the end of August and currently goes to Rory’s Room. He absolutely loves it (as do we)! B. will stay there for his 3s.2019-2020 Year Review
Our child loves going! They focus on social skills, which I appreciate. Tons of play-based learning, with spanish (2 days), yoga, theatre and music classes weekly. I don't like that the 3s class is in the basement, but they do a great job of getting kids outside everyday. They really try to have parents join in when they can. … About the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, has indoor playground for bad weather, they walk to neighborhood playgrounds most days … What would you change? wish the 3s classroom had windows, with they had their own outside playground.2019-2020 Year Review
Our twins are at Rory's Room and love it. They literally don't want to leave when I pick them up at the end of the day. The communication from the teachers and Director is great. They do lots of fun activities like music, yoga, spanish and theater. They cook food and learn about composting and recycling. We highly recommend Rory's Room. They also have an indoor playground they can use when there is inclement weather. The teachers are great and caring. … About the facility: Has early morning hours … What would you change? It would be great if they provided food.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
The program is very organized but allows for creative learning. They have great enrichment classes like music, theater, yoga, Spanish and soccer. My child loves everything about Rory's Room. The teachers are amazing as well. Full-day and half-day options available. Structured but very flexible, play-based environment. My daughter is in her second year and lives everything about it. The teachers are incredible. It's a very safe and happy place. About the facility: Has afterschool options What would you change? My only issue is that the pay structure is really rigid and may be difficult for most people.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We love Rory's Room! Our son has learned so much there over the last two years. The director and teachers are amazing. Our son has developed social skills, problem solving skills, independence skills as well as learned a lot about the world around him, spelling, numbers and Spanish. We love the community of families there too. We are so grateful he's gotten to have this wonderful experience. About the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours What would you change? I would love it if they had outdoor space, but appreciate that they get outside to the playground and for walks as often as possible.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey

Our daughter has been at Rory's Room for two years and we have been thrilled! She is so happy to go to school every day. The teachers are warm, knowledgable and very communicative. She loves them and they love her. We even have a couple of them babysit for us regularly. The teachers take and post pictures weekly, and send weekly and more comprehensive monthly newsletters. They offer fun enrichments like music, theater, yoga and Spanish. Our daughter has learned a ton and comes home excited to tell us what they did that day. She especially loves having classroom jobs. The kids feel a great sense of ownership over their space and have learned to be very independent in terms of getting their outside clothes on, putting their lunch boxes away, etc. I would love if they offered UPK. We would happily keep our daughter there another year if we didn't have to pay the full tuition.(no subject)
Review Date 2012 Program: Length of TIme: Part time, 3 days a week Child's Age: 3-4 years Review: The teachers are great, the school is play based with a lot of focus on the arts. If the weather is agreeable, the children definitely go outdoors once a day. Daily activities differ, children participate in French, music, yoga, drama, field trips etc. The feedback on your child is not frequent apart from the two parent teacher conferences. The teachers will reach out only if there is an issue. This is good and bad! Sometimes the school can be slightly rigid about working with parents around separation, potty training etc. But overall our chikd loves it and will be returning in the fall for a fuller schedule. Do you recommend? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Recommend(no subject)
My son has been going to RR for 4 months now and he absolutely loves it. He was one of the littlest kids when they started (2 and a half) and it took him 3 weeks to get the hang of it. During that adjustment period the teachers were amazingly caring and understanding. It's a great space and the curriculum is very creative - lots of art, music, books, play. On nice days they go to Greenwood playground, just a couple of blocks away, and they've also gone to the local library a few times. The teachers are wonderful and the director has a no-nonsense approach that I really enjoy. I really couldn't be happier and will be signing up for next year.Review 2010 Summer Camps Survey
Age of Child: 3 Likes: Caring, fun environment with great teachers; playground almost every day, weekly music, art, yoga and field trips. What would you change? Would you send your child(ren) again? Yes Do you recommend? Highly recommend Do you have any other information to add? They take children up to six years old for the summer program, which is helpful to families with older siblings.July 2010
We did not have a positive experience with Rory's Room. We were drawn to the beautiful space and very convenient location. Our daughter attended for half of a year just as she turned 2.5. My daughter had a hard time adjusting to Rory's Room and the school was just not a good fit for her but most importantly the communication with the director and teachers was extremely poor w multiple problematic instances. Although I think they thought they were working w our daughter as part of the class of 2.5 to 4yr olds, after a few weeks of attending only 2 days a week in the mornings they strongly suggested they needed outside help in order to provide her w a positive preschool experience. After talking w our pediatrician and having her evaluated we were told she was a normal 2.5 year old, who with some maturity, a good teacher and direction would do great and no therapy was needed. Ultimately after additional poor and disturbing communication and the school's inability to provide what the director said was a positive preschool experience without outside expertise we felt the school was not acting in our daughter's best interest or as our partner so we moved our daughter to a new school and lost our money. Within the first few weeks of being at the new school we had great reports and none of the issues reported at Rory's Room. Additionally, at the new school they wanted to and planned to take a supportive role in her potty training she was successfully back to wearing underpants at school after 2 days and was only in pull ups for naps for a couple of months.
