Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? December 2022 Review: They were pretty good. Most doctors were friendly and spent a good amount of time with us, but there were a few who we were glad weren't the ones to be there in the delivery room.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? February 2023 Review: Drs themselves were really pretty good overall. Some better than others but they weren’t great with seeing you on time, and were rather bad actually about getting the results of things back to me in a clear or timely manner. But overall fine and the birthing situation was good and I felt cared for for sure.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? February 2023 Review: My experience was fine, but I wouldn’t recommend this practice. I used the for my first, because it was peak pandemic and they were within walking distance. I used them again, because of my familiarity with their style and hospital. They made a few logistical mistakes and made it difficult for me to establish care. Their doctors seem very stretched thin (maybe that’s all doctors). Overall, they got my baby out and I never felt dismissed or unheard or unsafe. My delivering doctors were both great, but the practice is messy.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? March 2023 Review: Overall, positive experience. You meet with five potential delivering doctors, so you don't really build a relationship, but everyone was competent and kind. Their backend information systems were easy to navigate and they were quick to respond to inquiries.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? July 2022 Review: Nice practice, very clean, and their Brooklyn location is well-run (never waited very long for in the waiting room, extremely helpful admin staff). Some of the delivering doctors are better than others, but it was mostly personality meshing rather than any sort of lack of knowledge. Warning about their portal: the lab results are just giant text blocks, and it was unable to hide the sex of the baby in my NIPT results, so even though we didn't want to know the sex, we did find out accidentally while trying to view other results.Pure ObGyn
Please avoid this practice. I am concerned about women's reproductive health being compromised if they go to this practice.OB-GYN or midwife practice in Manhattan delivering at Mount Sinai West?
I went with PureOBGYN and had a great experience. They have locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan and deliver at MSW.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? June 2022 Review: Very goodISO Gynecologist that accepts Emblem Health
I’d recommend Dr. Guerra at PureOBGYN for annuals but not for baby stuff. I went through them for my last pregnancy and have since left them for Oula midwifery.Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
I was happy with the care I received at Pure. I made sure to meet with several delivering OBs in case they would be on call when I go into labor. I scheduled a tentative induction date one week after my due date. My water broke early without contractions. The OB on call (Dr Masson) was available to advise me whether I needed to go to the hospital. Dr Nina Yoo ended up delivering and checked up on me the next day for discharge. The only surprise was the out-of-pocket bill for delivery. $1400 might not eb abnormal but higher than I expected.OBGYN in North Park Slope
I was with PureOBGYN for my whole pregnancy and while I loved my doctor (Dr. Krystine Guerra), the office was very disorganized. On multiple occasions I was booked for regular prenatal appointments and the day of they would call me to say they needed to reschedule, and then they would try to book me with an NP. It was super frustrating because I had specifically wanted to talk to my doctor about certain things.OBGYN in North Park Slope
I did my first 30 weeks at PureOBGYN and switched. Their office would do an ultrasound at every single visit in order to charge more money to the insurance company. Their staff argued with me when I tried to correct mistakes on my records/chart. Billing is a nightmare. Front desk staff has terrible communication with doctors and would frequently mis schedule me for appointments. They are a disaster of an office, stay far far away.OBGYN rec
Wanted to second K. - DON'T go to Pure OBGYN.OBGYN rec
I highly recommend NOT using Pure OBGYN. I had bad experiences with them losing test results, not returning calls in regard to pressing issues, etc...Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I saw Dr. Becker while pregnant for office visits. She is very direct and clam which I like. She did a good job of educating us on what we should or should not worry about and expectations. Ultimately Dr. Schultis was on call when I was induced and performed my c-section. She was a great communicator and incredibly compassionate during a stressful time.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
She’s [Ashley Becker] fine. Smart, young, talks a mile a minute. The problem is the practice. The admin side is TERRIBLE and nine months after giving birth I’m still fighting with the billing team over charges that should have been covered by my insurance. Be warned: they also do an ultrasound at every visit, which is not standard and your insurance will not cover it even if they claim ALL prenatal care is fully covered.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I really liked Dr. Becker - unfortunately, she was not available the day I gave birth, and instead, Dr. Alex Goncharov (same practice) delivered my daughter. He was great, it was just a different experience, and I had never met him before that day. He also did my initial follow up, and while everything was fine, I did feel that he was a little pushy about immediately starting birth control, and didn’t listen to my concerns or the fact that I was EBF and was worried about a possible mastitis bout.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Loved Dr Becker. She was direct and easy to talk to. Answered my calls when I had 2 minor emergencies during my pregnancy. Went above and beyond to make sure I went into labor when she was on call. However that practice is no longer delivering at MethodistReview from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Very good. No complaints.ObGyn who uses ultrasound at checkups
Pure OBGYN used an ultrasound at every pregnancy appt - they are in Park Slope on St. John's and ..8th ish? Wouldnt be surprised if they use it for annuals!ObGyn who uses ultrasound at checkups
I’ve been going to Pure OBGYN because they are local, in my insurance network and very responsive to patient needs. They also have an office in Manhattan. I’m not sure they would do an ultrasound as part of an annual visit unless it were medically necessary, but given your family history you could possibly make a case. If not covered, they charge $250 per ultrasound, which for peace of mind may be worth it. I like Dr Jamie Schultis.
