  • Review from the 2024 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights REVIEW: We loved Poly this summer! The biggest draw for us was that they had daily instructional and recreational swim. Before camp, our child was just beginning to learn how to swim. By the end of camp, our 5 year old is officially a swimmer who knows multiple strokes and is fully confident in the water. Aside from swim the camp had so many other activities that our child loved- sports, art, olympics, etc. They also have a bus that does pick up/drop off so commuting to camp was easy. The bus was a big highlight for our child as well. CHANGES: The biggest drawback was that the camp is only offered for 6 weeks and you had to sign up for the full 6 weeks. That really limited when we could plan our vacation this summer and also left us with some extra weeks to find additional camp coverage. DETAILS: Age of child; 5 … Weeks attended: 6

  • Review from the 2021 Summer Camp Survey

Name of camp: Poly Prep Summer Experience Location: Brooklyn, NY How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 8 Review: Poly is an activity-filled day camp with swimming twice a day, lunch included, and small groups of campers that get to know each other and their counselors well. A good mix of arts, sports and free time. This was our third sumner at Poly and would recommend it to others. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? It’s pricey. But isn’t every camp? Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? There was a small outbreak toward the end of camp that was contained. They offered on-site testing and we later were required to follow up with a test on our own. The camp communicated everything transparently. I was happy with the response and always felt my son was safe.

Name of camp: Poly Prep Location: Dyker Heights Campus How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 Review: Our child loved it. He came home exhausted and talking endlessly about the activities they did. He loved the variety - swimming, tennis, field games, arts and crafts. He made a lot of new friends. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? For the most part, front office staff was communicative and responsive. But camp could be better about communicating with parents who counselors are, and how to reach them if we had questions, schedule, etc. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? They did the best they could regarding COVID safety. I especially appreciated that they had rapid tests on hand to test the kids and staff.
