    I saw Dr. Kate Yusupova recently at Optical Illusion in Park Slope after a bad experience elsewhere and found her to be thorough, knowledgeable and kind. You might try her!

  • Easy eye doctor in Park Slope?

    I highly recommend Optical Illusion on 5th Ave between 11th and 12th St. I needed the same thing a few years ago - I needed new contacts but needed an eye exam. I had been going to the same optometrist since I was in grade school, but he passed away and I couldn’t find someone I liked as much. Optical Illusion is close to my house and one day, I decided to give it a try. I have been super happy with the doctors as well as the people in the front - Gary is so kind. He has always gone above and beyond, and when he learned I was still reporting to work at the hospital during the height of COVID, he exchanged phone numbers with my husband and texted him when my contacts came in and even another time after to give me free lenses. He stated he didn’t want me to have to worry about picking up and running out of lenses. How amazing is that? I have no affiliation, but have been really pleased with their customer service. Their turn around time is also very quick and I appreciate they’ve never tired to up sell me on glasses, etc. I’ve been going there for about 2 years now and hope to continue to do so for years to come.   • Shout out to local optical store!

    Just a quick note to let you all know that wonderful service still exists- My son's frames were purchased (a few years ago!) at Optical Illusion on 5th Ave between 11th & 12th St. After my son accidentally stepped on them yesterday, my extremely handy husband couldn't manage to fix the frames. Luckily the lenses were fine though one popped out. I brought them to the store to see if repair was possible and the man instantly fixed them, cleaned them and charged me nothing. I thanked him and told him that I would recommend him to others, so go there :) They have a terrific selection as well.
