  • Seeking an OBGYN for multiples

I'm really happy with Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates on 70 E 90th Street for a few reasons: -My husband and I come from very different backgrounds and his language barrier does come up when discussing medical procedures / generally being not familiar with Obstetrics. They have been great at discussing things in lay terms without it feeling patronizing. Also havent gotten the "mixed baby" commentary that we loathe (while often meant to be positive, it comes off tone deaf to us). -The client base in the waiting area is very diverse. Often a bit older but black, white, brown, Hasidic, etc. -While on UES its pretty easy if you are on the 4/5 line. Takes us 30min from Borough Hall -They deliver at NYU West Side which has a Level 4 NICU -hey were recommended by a Dr. friend who delivered her own baby through this practice.
  • Seeking an OBGYN for multiples

I had a very positive experience at NYU MFM. I mostly saw Dr. Lee and Dr. Penfield and liked them both a lot. I am not queer so I can’t speak to that experience but I found them very calm, supportive of my desire for vaginal, resuring, communicative and diligent in a stressful advanced maternal age mono di pregnancy. The practice was nearly all women at the time which I liked. My husband is black and we appreciated that NYU has a public focus on improving black maternal care. My girls spent 3.5 and 6 weeks in the NICU and the care is phenomenal. We were lucky not to have major issues, just born at 32 weeks, but they have the ability to care for just about anything there which was reassuring.
  • MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed

Because I was considered high risk I bounced between the NYU MFM office and the NYU OB/Gyn Faculty Practice and was happy with both. It’s a bit of a hike to get there but their offices are well run. Both of my kids were born at NYU and both of my labors and deliveries went smoothly and I was well taken care of by everyone who worked there.
  • MFM doctors with specialization in preeclampsia

Highly recommend the MFM group at NYU. https://nyulangone.org/locations/maternal-fetal-medicine-services They took exceedingly good care of me and my twins throughout a high risk pregnancy (placenta previa with hemorrhage). Highly recommend the entire group with special calls outs regarding: Brubaker and Mehta-Lee.
  • High-risk OB recs please

I saw a high risk doctor at NYU MFM for my last pregnancy (for vasa previa) and was expecting to have the baby around 35 weeks. The doctor I saw primarily has since left, but I am seeing Dr SpiegeIman (the high risk doctor) for my current pregnancy and I like her and feel that she is thorough. I ended up having my baby at 31.5w via emergency c-section at NYU and he stayed in the NICU for 8 weeks. I cannot speak more highly about the NICU at NYU- the nurses and services there were amazing and they really include the parents in all discussions and planning.
  • MFM Recommendation

I delivered mono di girls March 2020 with NYU and also had a great experience. I saw Dr. Penfield and Dr. Lee the most and both were very communicative (msssaging me at 10 pm in the app with reassuring lab results when I was briefly in the pre-e zone, for example), calm, thorough and supportive of me attempting a vaginal delivery which is unusual for mono di twins elsewhere. Their office was easy to deal with and everyone was lovely. I delivered my first daughter at NYU too and had a really positive experience both times. The girls decided to come at 33 weeks so we spent several weeks in the NICU. No one wants that but it was really incredible facilities and care. Despite being a busy practice, I felt like they were really invested in my care. Dr. Penfield came to find me in recovery after my fast and wild delivery at peak covid madness and she was so genuinely excited the babies were here and healthy and that I had delivered vaginally, it was pretty sweet!
  • MFM Recommendation

I delivered monodi twins in August and had a great experience at NYU. I primarily saw Dr. Lee but Dr. Grossman was great as well. Also worth noting- I really loved the staff and ultrasound techs. They were all very thorough and compassionate, especially when my husband wasn’t allowed to join me during the peak of Covid.
  • Twin pregnancy OB recommendations?

Congrats on the twins! We had identical girls this spring and also have a toddler. We were totally shocked and a little terrified by the news but it’s been really fun and sweet, albeit non stop! I am 38 and mono di twins are always high risk so I went to the NYU MFM practice for all appointments. A total slog from Brooklyn but felt very worth it even with the 4 hr biweekly visits that came with a shared placenta. The MFMs were all women and very on top of everything. They were not alarmists but reviewed all risks in great detail. I briefly had high BP and pre e warning signs and they monitored closely, messaged me late and night and on weekends and didn’t go straight to meds. They were supportive of a vaginal delivery even with a breech twin and I was really happy we were able to do it. Many twins have a stop in the NICU and I was comforted that NYU has the highest level care. My girls ended up spending several weeks there for feeding and growing (all good now) and I was very happy with the care. I don’t have experience at any BK hospital so nothing to compare to but I felt very comforted by the amazing facilities, resources and doctors at NYU.
  • Pregnant with twins - switch to high risk ob/gyn a...

I second MFM associates - just gave birth to b/g twins four weeks ago and i was very happy with them. They deliver at Mount Sinai East which has a level 4 NICU. (September 2019)

Congrats! I don't know if you *need* a high risk practice or not, but I really loved mine -- MFM Associates, which is affiliated with Mt. Sinai. I can't speak more highly of the doctors, and I stuck with them when I had a third kid this year. A major benefit (besides the top notch care) was that they could do everything in house, so I never had to go elsewhere for my many scans/monitoring/etc. They even have a lab for blood work. Dr. Rebarber delivered my twins in 2017 and saved my Twin B’s life when things got complicated. Dr. Bender delivered my singleton this past May (and he is my regular gyn now because I just really like him). I’m also a big fan of Dr. Fox -- a twin dad himself! (September 2019)
  • High Risk OBGYN

I highly recommend maternal fetal medicine associates- try get an appointment with dr rebarber or dr Fox. They are both super smart and great at solving problems!
  • 2018 Birth Survey

I was very pleased with the practice. You will see more than one doctor so odds are you will know who delivers you, but sometimes it can feel like you’re explaining yourself every time you go to an appointment since you’ll often be seeing someone new. The high risk doctors at MFM (I was a multiples pregnancy, so high risk by default) are really great and take the time to answer all questions. The doctors at the regular NYU practice seem more rushed.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

I liked all of the ones I met. Busy practice, but runs pretty smoothly
