It's not in those neighborhoods but Natty Garden on Washington and Dean is a locally owned business that I have always had a wonderful experience at. Decent prices and a good amount of selection, too.

If you’re near prospect heights, I recommend Natty Garden. I’m slowly turning my place into a greenhouse and I’ve found many of my favorites there. I also think they will repot your plant for you if you buy the pot with it so no need to haul dirt back home...
