We have really loved Musication Camp, which is just a pleasant walk through Prospect Park from Park Slope, housed in the Maple Street School classrooms.
  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Prospect Lefferts Garden How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 Review: This camp is so amazing and well organized and the organizer sends a slew of videos and photos at the end of every day. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Nothing, I love this camp so much
  • Piano teacher recommendations

My son has been taking lessons with David from Musication for about a month now and it’s going really well. Musication places you with a teacher who comes to your home and you can tell them about your child and your needs.
  • Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Brooklyn How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 Review: My son loved this camp; he came back wanting to play music at home, telling us we needed to 'use our ears to listen', and asking to go back. We will be sending him and our daughter back next year.
  • Musication

My daughter has taken piano lessons with Musication for more than four years, starting when she was 3.5, and we have really just been so happy with how much she has learned, the quality of the lessons, the utter calm attitude they take toward practicing/recitals, and, lately, their Covid protocols. We started with in-person lessons, then went remote two years later when the pandemic hit. Musication didn't miss a beat, transitioning quickly to Zoom lessons and even fun (!) Zoom recitals. They've never stressed spending tons of time practicing, and as a result my kid practices voluntarily every school day, and invariably spends a chunk of time just playing around with sounds, chords, and pedals. When the pandemic lessened, they laid out clear, responsible and fact-guided standards for resumption of in-home lessons and also allowed for continued remote lessons. It's all driven by the choices of both the families and the teachers. Their office is organized, communications are clear, and the owner, Jeremy, is always readily accessible. My daughter loves her teacher and playing the piano. We're big fans!

Hey parents! Just wanted to give Musication a shout out if you're looking for in-person or online one-on-one music lessons for kids. They are awesome!

  • [2013PreK] Summer camp ideas?

Looking for something to do during spring break recess from preschool we signed our daughter (3 1/2) up for Musication. She *loved* it---they learned about different musical instrument families (strings, woodwinds, brass), made an instrument craft, and had outdoor play every day. They were great about communicating with parents and sent photos and talking points each evening. The last day our daughter sang at the open mic which kind of floored us (they sent a video). We signed her up for another week in August since she kept talking about it.
  • Re: Experience with Musication Camp?

Our daughter has attended 3 times and loves it. The themes are always interesting (different types of music or different families of instruments), and they bring in really great musicians for the EOD concert every day. Also, they just added the Park Slope location so now we don't have to cross the park in the morning! I highly recommend it.
