  • sports day camp for my 7 year old?

Second Mindful Sports! Our almost 7-yr-old loves it, and has been going for about a year now. We do both after school and summer camp. All of the coaches are wonderful!
  • sports day camp for my 7 year old?

Check out mindful sports! My 7 year old has been taking classes for the last 1.5 years and did camp a bunch last summer. Coach Sam is amazing!
  • Review from the 2021 Summer Camp Survey

Name of camp: Mindful Sports Location: Prospect Park How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 7 (entering 3rd grade) Review: I was really happy with this camp. My son did a wide variety of sports, including many he never played before. He always came home happy, dirty and tired, which I would call a success. They also integrated a mindful walk every day. The camp director Sam is very hands on, and is with the groups in the park all day. He seems to remember the names of all the kids and their parents. The camp was very responsive to any suggestions that were brought to their attention. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? I thought they were great at following the guidelines even as they changed. Since the camp was fully outdoors, masks for the kids were optional, which I agreed with and was in line with the CDC recommendations. They required counselors to be vaccinated and let the families know that.

Name of camp: Mindful Sports Location: Prospect Park How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 Review: My kiddo loved attending Mindful Sports for the week he went! He loved playing fun games, engaging with other kids in person (finally!) and the staff were really welcoming and kind! He had a hard time daily at drop off (we've been remote since covid, knew it was going to be hard) but they were incredibly supportive and the kid even got an award at the end of the week.
  • Summer camp for between camp and start of school - shout out for Mindful Sports

My son had a great experience in Mindful sports last spring and will be continuing this Fall. They added programming for end of summer / between end of most camps and school start:
  • Toddler soccer class recs?

We’ve loved mindful sports. Small groups, a range of activities, including soccer skills and also some of the important emotional parts of sports. It’s a very cozy and safe feeling organization and it can be tailored to family’s wishes. My son was in a group with two other kids and he loved it. We tried another program where 12 kids per class was the norm and it honestly was just chaotic and not fun.
  • ISO: Full Day Camps at the end of Summer

Mindful Sports opened up camp options for late summer through Sept 10th. My older son is doing their camp now and it seems great. He comes home very happy and very dirty :)
  • ISO Outdoor Summer Camp for 4-year old

Mindful sports is wonderful!!! They have a fully outdoor program we have been doing since September and both my 5 and 7 yo love it. Summer camp is completely outdoors in Prospect Park.
  • Review from the 2020 Summer Camp Survey

Age of child: 8, 10 Comment: Both my boys loved it. Sam is great with kids. It was a small group and they played a good diversity of games: baseball, soccer, camp-type games (tag etc.). Kids do not need to be too experienced in anything to join. There was not too much "mindfulness" as far as the kids reported back. There were some point-based reward systems (even culminating in a 'prize' at the end of the week) that the kids seemed to enjoy. Anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it you'd like to add? Precautions seem to be taken seriously.
  • Outdoor classes/camp in Prospect Park for 3-6 year olds?

We have our son enrolled in the last week (August 31) of summer camp in Mindful Sports. They also have a fall program for which we signed up. All outdoors in prospect park for kids ages 5-12. Our son has been doing this and loves it.
  • Kids @ Home Fall Option

Just wanted to share a great option for kids for non-classroom days this fall. My son LOVES Mindful Sports, a Park Slope outdoor program that teaches mindfulness and sports to kids. The coaches are amazing. They’re running half-day morning and afternoon sessions Mon-Fri in Sept-Oct. Great COVID Safety Guidelines. The summer program has been terrific. Check it out!
