Mike’s Tech shop is pleasant to work with. I’ve had a few repairs done there and bought a MacBook from them.

I recently had a boot-up problem diagnosed by the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (and a hard drive replaced when problem was diagnosed), and then had my data recovered by Mike's Tech Shop. If you want an indie shop to do everything for you, Mike's Tech Shop can do that. They're on 20th St btwn 6th & 7th Aves, right near where Tekserve used to be, and they're an authorized Apple repair shop like Tekserve used to be.
