One of the easiest ways to purchase a refurb laptop is Micro Center on 3rd Ave in Sunset Park. They offer 90 day warranties (which you can upgrade in store). If you prefer not to go to a store, Amazon or Newegg also have refurbs, but I prefer being able to return the laptop easily if it’s not suitable.Computer repair
I took my laptop to Micro Center and they were able to fix it fairly quickly. Took it on a Friday and had it back midday on Wednesday. I know they aren't a small local shop, but they are still open and pretty busy. I couldn't find a local shop that was open or would answer my call. I do suggest getting a time slot, because they are limiting the number of people in the store.No Tekserve. Now what?
I used microcenter on 3rd ave and 31st street in brooklyn They were covered under apple care and I didn't have to go into the city I was always able to check in and get status reports Ultimately, I had to get my entire mother board replacedneed a good Mac expert
try the Knowledge bar at the new Microcenter computer superstore on 3rd avenue. They've been phenomenal in adding PC Operating system to my Mac. Extremely responsive with great follow up and easy to understand explanations to the technologically challenged. I highly recommend. See Chris at the knowledge bar. (July 2014)
