Therapist for PTSD and childhood sexual traumaI've been seeing Meredith Korsen for several years now. I initially came to therapy to process my own childhood sexual trauma, and the many emotional barriers and anxiety I've faced as a result of living with the secret for so long. She has not only been an incredible support for me as I've learned to talk about and process this trauma, but she consistently supports me through personal and professional situations. Her approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, and at least with me she is very encouraging of meditation and mindfulness, which I have found to be an amazing tool in day to day life, and in understanding and overcoming low self-esteem and anxiety, especially as they relate to my new life as a mother. I highly recommend her. My only challenge with her is that when we first began working together she was at a public health clinic and my sessions were free. Now she is private, and she has stopped accepting insurance after too many obstacles with insurance companies. Her sessions are often reimbursable by insurance, but it is an out of pocket expense. That said, I've made sacrifices elsewhere in my budget to afford her because she is so helpful to me.

PPA/PPDI have a therapist who has been so helpful for me—I’ve been seeing her for several years, long before becoming a mother, for anxiety, depression and PTSD. If anyone is looking for support, I could recommend her. https://www.meredithkorsen.com/ Obviously every individual has to find the right fit, but for me, she has been a great resource, and has given me practical tools to help me cope over the years—including seven months into postpartum.
