Nazim Uddin, owner of Mega Construction has completed the restoration of the brownstone façade on my 2 family brownstone in park slope. I read all the reviews and received estimates from several other companies and am so pleased with the job done by Mega. It was a big job and the initial phase was done last fall and completed this spring. There was a period in between for the first scratch coat to ‘cure’. Nazim is honest and good natured. He and his crew are professional and pleasant. There is a slight communication challenge, but his work is well worth the effort. The job site was kept clean and orderly. My home has been totally restored, I highly recommend Mega.

We used Nazim of Mega to redo our stairs, redo the lintels over the doors and windows, paint the cornice, and tidy up the entry way. We got three bids, Nazim's was extremely competitive (he's willing to work with you to get the job). He had to recreate a crumbling lintel over the main door and did a gorgeous job in the carvings over the window. He is an artist in the stone work. He also did a little carpentry and a little electrical work on the front, as well as reset some bluestone. I'd put that in the "good enough" category. Because of the language barrier, in retrospect, I would make sure to have everything in writing for communication's purpose. There was one instance where we thought we were thinking out loud but came home to find that piece of work done. Personally, I prefer people who get things done over people who I have to beg to do the work, so I didn't mind. Nazim is very industrious and his guys work incredibly hard. He'll do the work for a great price. You have to do the work to make sure the communication is clear.
  • review of mega construction company

My wife and I used Mega Construction to resurface our brownstone. They did an exceptional job, taking care to clean up every day, they were extremely conscientious of our needs, and I was actually able to draw up the contract myself and get Nazim (the owner) to agree to my terms. It's interesting that there are so many companies doing brownstone resurfacing in the Slope, but these guys are somehow different: the craftsmen who did the filigree/flowers, the foreman who supervised the work, the attention to detail, make Mega different. I really recommend that you call Nazim and see if he can do the work for you.
  • Contractor Review

We used Mega Construction to remove the existing ceiling in our living room/kitchen area and expose the original beams (building from the late 1800’s). The job included re-routing the electrical, installing insulation and dry wall, painting, and sanding & sealing the beams. Nazim (owner and general contractor) was very quick and reasonable with his quote. He also started and ended the project on time. We are very pleased with the end result and are happy with the work that was done.
  • review of M. Construction (or Mega Construction)

In May 2014 after interviewing several vendors I chose Mega. The scope of the work was removing paint from brick, repointing, painting bay windows, and redoing our brownstone steps on our center slope Brownstone. It was a fairly large project. I found Nazim easy to work with (he answers text messages and that’s a good way to communicate) and competent. If there is something not to your liking he will fix it. He gave me several references to call which I did. His prices were good (like everyone you meet in this space you’ll have to negotiate) and he was willing to stand by his work with a warranty. For exterior work I would have no hesitation referring Mega and Nazim.
  • Mega Construction review

Nazim gave us a fair quote to repair our damaged front stoop and promised to have it completed in a reasonable amount of time (about half the time another company quoted). They did a great job and we are happy with the results. That said, there is a definite language barrier so I found email to be the best way to confirm start dates etc. since phone conversations were a little difficult. Also, I would like to recommend Nazim Uddin of Mega Construction. I would not use him to do iron work. He promised to scrape ours but they did a mediocre job and we ended up bringing in someone else to complete that part of the work. He adjusted the quote to reflect this. Good luck!
  • Review for Mega Construction

I’d like to recommend Mega Construction after the excellent job they did on the exterior and interior of our small Brownstone co-op. Nazim gave us an excellent price and went above and beyond the scope of the job. His crew was professional, punctual, cleaned up at the end of the day, and worked smart. Nazim was a hands-on manager, showing up every day to ensure his crew was staying on task. Don’t be thrown off by Nazim’s soft-spoken demeanor—he’s a seasoned professional who knows exactly how to get the job done. Most contractors won’t give our small co-op the time of day for job bids. Nazim was an excellent fit for the scope of work we required. Work done in our 4-story co-op: Interior hallway painting, re-plastering, installed ceramic tile on ground floor, painted & waterproof back of building, scraped and re-painted fire escape on back of building, fixed crack in apartment wall, re-tiled entryway, restored & painted wood cornice on top of brownstone.

I want to recommend Nazim from Mega for the recent work he did in my home. He did the following: roofing, skylight, interior painting, siding repair, waterproofing, plumbing, bathroom repair, inside wall repair We were extremely happy with the work. He was punctual, careful, and very reasonable. His guys kept the place clean and were careful around the kids spaces. His prices are always very reasonable.

I recently managed a series of repair and renovation projects for a 5-unit coop. We hired Mega Construction, a brooklyn-based general contractor, to handle a few of the larger jobs. They demolished and rebuilt brownstone walls in the courtyard, removed concrete from the courtyard and resurfaced with bluestone, demolished brick steps in the courtyard and rebuilt using bluestone, Thorocoated a very large area of parapet and cement walls on the roof, retiled the floor in the lobby and did a major skim-coat/plaster repair all of the building's interior hallway walls. They did an excellent job on each of these projects. The owner of Mega, Nazim Uddin, and his crew were all very agreeable and hard working. They were especially accommodating of the 9 kids who live in the building. Mega's pricing compared favorably to other quotes we received and Nazim was very cooperative and helpful as the project scope changed mid-stream.

We switched contractors a couple years ago after a few botched jobs. We were very happy with Nazim & his crew. He was always on time, his prices are reasonable, and they do very good work! There was a leak that our former contractor spent several attempts trying to repair, and Nazim got it the first time! We've done 8 projects with him so far and we've happy every time. He is flexible, both with timing for the work and has also been flexible with payments. His team is friendly and works efficiently.

I contacted the owner and he was supposed to meet us to give us a quote for work we wanted done on a house we are buying. He never showed with no call, I had spoken to him the day before. When I called to find out where he was he made up some excuses and then tried to get us to meet the following day. I had rushed after work, picked up my kids and got there only to find out he had never had any intention of coming. What customer service, do not recommend this business.

Mega Construction is run by a gentleman named Nazim. We hired him to do a concrete stucco on the back of our wood frame home in Brooklyn. He showed up promptly to give an estimate and the price was reasonable. (having gotten many other estimates) He arrived when he said he would and the job got under way. I have to confess, I was probably the client from hell. I changed my mind constantly. What started as a two week job stretched in to months. Nazim was patient and went with the changes. (of course I paid $$ for them - but he was reasonable and willing to negotiate) The work was done well - if a bit messy on the job site -- and the job turned out fantastic. I am very pleased with the quality of the work. pros- on time, good work, reasonable, cons - language barrier, messy site

I'd like to recommend Mega Construction. I called them for our 3rd street Coop brownstone repair because some of the brownstone was cracking and falling off, after our building got new windows last year. He came out promptly to do an estimate, and we worked out a deal with him (much less than his initial quote because we scaled down the work a bit). He sent us a written estimate and we agreed to it. He and his workers filled out the areas that were cracking, rebuilt part of it to fit the existing pattern, primed and painted it. They also painted our black fence and window guards. It is truly a makeover for the building, and the price was reasonable. He and the workers were pleasant, reliable and easy to have around for a few days. I highly recommend them. (March 2012)

Nazim and his crew just completed the third major project in our home, again with excellent results, fair pricing, good timing, and professionalism. They completely redid 4 bedrooms that had significant water damage on the walls and ceilings. In some cases, they chiseled out every bit of plaster and installed dry wall; in others, they painstakingly chiseled out the cracks and replastered key areas. Nazim was able to give me sound advice about how to address each room and the different issues. After restoring the walls, they painted each room, and they look incredible. They also repaired the hallway walls and ceilings throughout the house (3 levels), including along the stairwells before repainting them. This was an complicated and somewhat dangerous task, and they completed the job skillfully and safely. This was an incredibly dusty set of projects, and Nazim and his crew were very careful to block off areas as best as possible, clean up each evening before they left, and intensively clean up at the end of the job. He ensures that the work is fully complete, down to the final details and is highly responsive when I ask for one more this or that. Along with doing exceptional work, Nazim and his crew are all very lovely people -- kind, considerate, warm, and respectful. My kids love them, and even my one year old asks to go see "Zeem, Zeem" when he knows they are in the house. Once again, we are very pleased with their work and consider them our "go to" contractors for both interior and exterior projects. I recommend them without hesitation.

I would like to express my appreciation for a fine job performed by Nazim Uddin and the knowledgeable workers of Mega Construction. Do to flooding of my basement on several occasions. I hired him for his expertise in determining the location of the source of the problem. Interior and exterior brickwork was performed, as well as replacement of sheetrock and painting. The work was meticulously performed; it was an exact estimate, and the work was completed within the time frame promised. The site was left very clean, and all waste materials were removed daily. Nazim Uddin is very honest and of the highest integrity. His business is also licensed and insured. Being the owner of a 1875 house that requires upkeep, I can say, I’m sure to do business with him again!

My family just recently had the pleasure to contract work with Nazim and his workmen. They did work in our building, including demolition and remodeling of our 2 bathrooms, tile work on floor and walls, strengthening wood floors, plastering, painting in at least 7 rooms including, electric, plumbing, toilets, sinks, ceilings and walls. They are hard workers and would call them again. Thanks!

We just had Nazim Uddin and his crew do our roof -- all layers all the way down to the frame on our brownstone. He was very professional, did an excellent job, worked very hard, had a large crew so it went quickly, etc. It was a relatively extensive job since it required so many layers to redo, but many who are 'in the know' have said the pricing was very fair. We've been pleased with the work and Nazim and his team, and he's doing other projects in our home currently -- brownstone repair for our stoop and garden level entrance, brick pointing on the back of the house, etc. He's licensed, insured, etc. My son really took to him, too, drawing him pictures, asking after him, etc. Nazim also has young kids in Brooklyn, and his kindness towards my kids went a long way. His company is called Mega Construction, and his # is 347 291 4487 or 718 851 5348. You can also email him at

We live in a brick house built in 1865. I met Nazim Uddin (these days he goes by Mega Constructions) when we were looking for a roofer in the Spring of 2003. Since then, Nazim had - repaired our roof (2003, 2010 - there was a leak), - painted the house (2004, 2009), - Repaired the sidewalk (2008?) - and built a basketball court in our back yard (2007). Review: We plan to use Nazim in the fall, again for the paint job. The prices have been competitive (we always had at least 2 bids). What's most important to us was that Nazim was reliable, available by phone and showed up as agreed. So far, he always responded with the proper insurance documents, and when requested produced a contract. In 2008, he was also somewhat flexible on the payment structure as we tried to spread the payment throughout. At one point the brownstone finish he put up had a crack in an area that is close to the metal gate-like door. I called Nazim and he repaired it, at no cost. Cons: Nazim's language skills aren't great but with some patience we can get through to him and he to us. It's important to be very specific about what you want. He also doesn't always know the Gregorian calendar months so for example, when I told him we'd like to paint the house in September I said "Now's July, then come August and then September". Nazim then understood the time table I was trying to convey. Overall, he's honest and direct and his work is typically above par compared to other contractors I've seen over the years, including those of my neighbors and family in the area. I can't recall a job the happened which I would consider a complaint.

We would like you to know how pleased we are with your company and your good work you have done over many years on our house. Your knowledge on Stone work and paint jobs are very impressive. We specially appreciated that you always on time and always try to stay in our budget. Thank you for the hard work you have done for us and we will certainly recommend your business to others

Last summer we had Nazim and his crew at Mega Construction pour complicated concrete footings for a new deck, build several brick walls, level ground and place flagstone, and pour the form for a small fish pool. On all fronts they did a great job, in addition to being fairly priced. They were timely with their work and flexible to the schedule of the other contractors involved. Their workers were efficient, friendly, and cleaned up the site well. As we were working, other small side projects came up- plumbing repairs, skim coating, and so on, and Nazim took the additional work on willingly- and again at reasonable rates. We would definitely recommend them and have to friends!

I used them for 2 jobs so far. They show up on time and do excellent work. While they were repairing the siding of my home Nazim noticed cracks in the roof and fixed them. This ended up fixing a leak that our former contractor was working on several times and was still not able to fix. The 2nd job they did was reinforcing the stairs. I really only was concerned about a loose top stop but they not only tightened the step but did such a good job reinforcing the stairs that the stairwell is completely silent now (used to be very loud and creaky). They are great about cleaning and respectful of the space. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done.
