Re: questions about twin pregnancy resources
Highly highly recommend MFMA on UES - specifically Dr Rebarber. Delivered with him in Jan 2021 (b/g twins).Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? July 2022 Review: The most competent, brilliant, attentive and compassionate doctor I’ve perhaps ever had. An absolute gift to me and our family.MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed
I absolutely loved Dr. Rebarber at MFM (and really all of the docs there). I delivered at Weill-Cornell and my doctor has since retired, but even though MFM associated is connected with Mt. Sinai I found the communication to be impeccable. My ob was not shy about saying he would check with the MFM specialist if he had questions, and would sometimes say things like that might be a better question for the high risk doctor-- of course he was on the cusp of retirement so had all of the confidence and calm of a seasoned ob. But it worked well.(no subject)
Dr. Rebarber and his team were excellent, tho I hated NYU hospital. July 2012(no subject)
Maternal Fetal Medicine on 90th & Madison is amazing. I went to Dr. Andrei Rebarber, delivered at Mt. Sinai. They're the best, really. Sorry, phrased that wrong. What I meant to say was Andrei Rebarber delivered my son. When you go to that practice, you cycle through all the doctors throughout your visits -- and they're all amazing. It's a hike to get there, but the imaging center and blood draw facility are just downstairs, so at least there's no schlepping for that. Good luck, and hang in there(no subject)
Another excellent group is Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates NYC, Dr. Andrei Rebarber. July 2012(no subject)
The doctors at Maternal Fetal seem to specialize in putting nervous pregnant women like me at ease. It's a group practice so during the pregnancy you cycle through the various doctors so that by the time of your delivery you will have met them all. My husband and I loved them all. They all knew incredible amounts of data off the top of their heads. They've each published a bunch of academic papers. But, more importantly, they just sit and talk with you about all the odds and options until you don't have any questions left. It was just a totally reassuring, comfortable place to visit. You deliver at nearby Mt. Sinai, where these guys are practically camped out.(no subject)
For high risk, you could try Dr. Andre Rebarber's practice. They are associated with Mt. Sinai and Dr. Ashley Roman is wonderful. They have 2 offices - on on 32nd and Madison and one on the UES near Mt. Sinai. (Jan, 2011)(no subject)
I'm with Maternal Fetal Health Associates and love them. They deliver at Mt. Sinai and they run Carnegie Hill Imaging. I've only received excellent care there. If you are an informed patient and make sure to be on top of things as well, I'm certain that you can receive the best care there. http://www.mfmnyc.comJuly 2010 Review
I have a different type of blood disorder (Factor V Leiden...blood clotting) and sought out my OB/GYN specifically to deal with pregnancy with blood disorders. I absolutely loooove my doctor and can't speak more highly of them. I'm not sure if they specialize in Thalessemia or if it constitutes a high risk pregnancy, like mine, but I know that my doctor is incredibly well versed in hematological issues. His name is Dr. Andrei Rebarber and his office is called Maternal Fetal Health. They're on 90th at the corner of Madison Ave and affiliated with Mt. Sinai Hospital. They also run Carnegie Hill Imaging, which is one of the best Ultrasound Facilities in the city. Their office is incredibly well run and I've only had extremely positive encounters and visits there. If you are informed and on top of things it will make the experience even better. I know that Dr. Rebarber's waiting list is pretty long, but it's definitely worth trying to get in. I would choose them again in a heartbeat!
