Acupuncturist Martha Oatis is wonderful! My son was one week late and she helped (I believe!) me with natural induction. She has a very special presence and bedside manner. I highly recommend her if you are looking to help your labor come. Based on a April 2017 experience (on 16-Sep-2017)Shout out: Martha Oatis, acupuncturist for kids and whole families
I'd like to recommend Martha Oatis, who is an LAc and practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Martha recently treated my baby daughter for sequelae related to a persistent virus (fever, build up of mucous, spasmic coughing that caused vomiting) using acupressure, cupped hand massage, and very light gua sha. Very generously, she gave me instructions on how to use these techniques at home so I wouldn't have to bring my baby back out for multiple appointments (or pay for them), Martha is a skilled and intuitive provider who has a very calm and warm manner.. She checked in with me continuously to make sure that I was comfortable with each modality she used. While Martha does treat adults, her primary interest is children and families - she routinely treats parents in their homes while their kids are there, a really great service for those of us with limited babysitting coverage. She is putting together a "whole family" package. Martha works out of her office in Prospect Heights and Brooklyn Acupuncture Project (sliding scale community acupuncture) on 3rd Ave at 13th St, where the babies and kid hours are Fridays from 8:30-10am.
