We have had terrific experience with Marc Goldberg. We had done family photo shoots with our two girls and been extremely happy with the experience and the photos. The first time we did the shoot at his studio and the second time in the park. Our girls are slow to warm to strangers but Marc was silly and fun and had them engaged very quickly. I just wanted to give a quick shout out for Marc Goldberg Photography. I have no affiliation besides being a very happy customer. He does a great job and is truly a toddler whisperer. His shot our family pics last week for our holiday card. My 3 year-old son is not a fan of taking pictures and definitely not a fan of smiling for the camera. Marc had him laughing, saying cheese, and being wonderfully photogenic. My 2 year-old daughter bounces around and can't be bothered to hold still. He managed to get her to pose. It was amazing! My husband and I were most impressed with his patience, professionalism, and his studio was a short walk from our place in Center Slope. Marc made the dreaded family picture day a pleasure. Every year my local extended family comes over to my place to celebrate Hanukah. This year, for the first time ever, I thought it would be fun to have a photographer come over and capture some family shots for each individual family and for my mom. There was some doubt expressed by members of the family as to the willingness of their kids to cooperate (kids ranged in age from 5-21) and by my own husband who wasn't too thrilled with the stranger intruding on our family event. All fears and doubt were gone within the first 20 minutes while Marc talked individually to every single person in the family - finding ways to relax them and fit right in with the typical family craziness. The youngest started out saying "I am NOT letting you take any pictures of me" and ended up literally blocking his exit because she didn't want him to leave. My mother hasn't stopped kvelling and has called it her best day in recent memory. Everyone is happy with the results, which we received 4 days later -- despite that I had already said it was no problem to wait 2 weeks since he was going on a family vacation. So - all this to say he has my highest recommendation and if you are considering a family shoot - either in his own studio - or in your own place -- don't hesitate to use Marc, if he is available. We just had a family studio session with Marc Goldberg - he was AMAZING. Worked with us, our 2 year old and our 5w newborn. The toddler was difficult, of course, and he was just fantastic with her. We had an incredible photoshoot on Sunday with Marc Goldberg. This was our first professional shoot and I was nervous because a) I am extremely self-conscious getting my pic taken and generally shy away from cameras, and b) my 5-yr-old son is very shy and awkward with strangers and getting him to pose (or even act natural) is a huge challenge. My son was enthralled with Marc from the moment we met him at the park. Marc started shooting and talking to him right away, and the two of them were instant pals. He was posing and hamming it up with his sister, it was so cute. We were stunned! Marc made us all feel so comfortable, and I even managed to loosen up and have fun. So we highly recommend Marc. His rate is very reasonable and you get up to 100 full-sized images! He flipped through some of the shots as we did the shoot, and they were gorgeous. He captured my kids' personalities and he even made me look the way I envision myself (supermodel) as opposed to how I usually end up in photos (dorky) :)Re: photographer in manhattan or brooklyn

We had a wonderful experience and got great photos with Marc Goldberg (and keep meaning to write up a review but still haven't!!). We went to his studio, which had a bunch of cool props, but he'd offered to come to us so I know that's an option. We had family pics with our then 4 mo and 2.5 year old, individual ones of both boys, etc, and the photos came out beautifully. We did it in November and ended up using them for Christmas cards. The whole experience was really laid back and fun--Marc's a PSP dad who'd also just had his second kid, so he's relaxed and very kid friendly. He knew just how to put the boys at ease. Definitely something we'll do again and that I'd recommend to others! I bought one of the special offers he was running, so I can't remember the exact cost, but I felt it was very reasonable. We got a DVD with all the pics (and some prints, but that was part of the special offer; I don't think it's required).Re: Recommendations for portrait photographer
Our son is 10 months old and we just had photos taken by Marc Goldberg. One reason I chose him over other options is that you own all the images that he shoots--there is no fee for the digital files; he gives you a disc with about 100 images on it (no watermarks at all). You *can* pay him to print photos, but you can also have photos printed on your own, once you have the disc. He was also more reasonably priced than most other photographers I considered, and he gives a discount to PSP members. He is super accommodating and will shoot wherever you want. We second Marc! We had our family of four's pictures taken back in December and what a fantastic experience! Marc is welcoming, warm, has a great way with kids and is super easy going, didn't rush us and took his time. He also has very authentic and tasteful props for kids if needed. I hired Marc to take newborn and family photos in August and I could not be happier with the experience and output. Marc was flexible about scheduling, spent a solid 2 hours with our family (more time than I paid for), was extremely talented in putting all of us including my toddler at ease, and was overall just a pleasure to work with. Marc's photos really captured my kids and somehow even seemed to capture the essence of this stage in our lives. Marc is a local dad and I cannot emphasize how wonderful he was with my toddler - priceless! Marc occasionally posts great specials on PSP, but for what you get - a talented photographer who will take his time, a DVD of all the high-res images and a free print - I think his regular prices are also quite reasonable. Marc's easy-going and friendly demeanor ensured my 1-year-old son was content throughout the entire shoot. I just wanted to post and let everyone know that we took advantage of the special that photographer Marc Goldberg posted on PSP last weekend and we are so happy with the results! Marc was incredibly sweet and patient (we had to do 2 diaper changes and a feeding during our time at the studio). The photos came out incredible! Marc took the time to make sure we got a variety of photos and made sure we were all comfortable. He was able to get us the prints and DVD to us very quickly since we were using the photos for our baby announcement. We are definitely going to back for more photos in a few months when our little guy can sit up and smile.May 25
Marc just dropped off our pictures, and I have to write him a recommendation. The pictures turned out absolutely gorgeously, even of an uncooperative baby. He was so nice to work with and took more time than we had scheduled to make sure we got all of the pictures we wanted. He had a great way of interacting with my 3-yo. I haven't gotten one smiling, eyes looking into the camera photo of her in the last 6 months, and he got a dozen in an hour. Also, I am shocked at how reasonably priced he was. Just finished doing a wonderful family photo shoot with Marc in Prospect Park. We took advantage of one of his April specials and I'm beyond thrilled that we did! He was so great with our 16 month old daughter who kept wanting to run off on her own adventures. He even taught her a new favorite word (ginkgo!) He took more time with us than he probably normally would to make sure he had good shots of everything. I would highly recommend him! As a satisfied customer I say take advantage of Marc's recent father's day special offer. I love my photos of my studio session that Marc did with my two year and only regret I didn't do any sessions earlier. I wish I had done it a few times more between newborn and two just to fully capture the baby stages. I have candid shots but they are not equal to a real photographer spending time and his expertise trying to get great shots. My only challenge has been narrowing down the ones I want to get printed. Marc loves children and makes the whole process more fun and relaxed. Overall don't miss some of these fun opportunities because time goes super super fast.(no subject)
We highly recommend Marc. We booked a 1-hour session with Marc to photograph our family which includes a 2.5 year old boy and 9 month old girl. There was plenty of parking near Marc's studio, always a plus in Park Slope. Marc had a fun collection of toys to engage the kids and stayed positive while showing great patience throughout, even when our son wasn't cooperating. We recently visited Marc's studio with our 5 yr old and 17 month old twin girls for a photo shoot. We were a bit hesitant about how it would work out, but it was a huge success. Marc is great and immediately put everyone to ease - our kindergartner who loved his toys and his chilled out disposition, our girls who felt relaxed right at home (including one who just wanted to hug Marc), and my wife and I who were relieved at how easy and natural it all was. We went to Marc to have photos taken of our 6 month old girl. In addition to being flexible and accommodating of her nap schedule, he created a playful and relaxed atmosphere which coaxed many smiles and laughs out of our little one. In fact, our biggest issue has been with the sheer number of great shots from which to choose. I am writing to spread the word about a local park slope photographer, Marc Goldberg. He has photographed my kids since they were crawling and has always been able to capture the uniqueness of their personality and the sweetness in each stage of their young lives.
