Review from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey
REVIEW: We love the teachers, the play based program, and the space (even though the 3k/4k classrooms in the basement with no windows, there is a lot of space for them to run around).; Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals; What would you change? Communication could improve - there was some confusion about days off, etc.Review from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey
REVIEW: This is a review for the infant/baby room - which holds kids up to walking age, when they move to the next room. Ms. Nelisa is the head teacher in this room, the lil' caterpillars room, and an absolute delight. We appreciate the monthly newsletters, curriculum based around developing different skills, and the fluidity of some of the staff from other rooms coming in to help out. there is a very collegial vibe at magic moments of teachers from all different rooms being interested in and helping out your kiddo! photos and videos throughout day and messaging through their app is easy. we have been able to take advantage of the 2x weekly schedule, part-time, and fulltime schedule, with the administration being really supportive and flexible with us and our needs.; Amenities: Afterschool pickups to other programs, 8-6 pm hours, i believe. the facility is sparkling. there is a playground less than a block away that the children can go on walks to and play in (if they are big enough!).;Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: Teachers were lovely and truly cared about the kids. My child had a positive experience. The parents, on the other hand, suffered all year-long from lack of information and communication on a pretty constant basis. I realize that child care centers are notorious for slow or late communication, but this was next level. It was nice that the program offered options for child care during DOE breaks. But, they were mostly not communicated until days before exactly what was happened, how much and how to register, which left most of those parents in the lurch, forcing us to either hope that what MMA offered made sense for our families or go find alternative plans. Over the course of the year, the administration said they were trying to change to a better registration system as an excuse for late registration. What was totally obnoxious was that the old and new registration systems were set up to charge a 'registration fee' on top of the cost of participation in the added care, which I've never seen or heard from before and meant we were paying WAY more for a 'camp day' than most other holiday camps in Brooklyn. Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Review: They have great programming and very caring staff. Our child was there for close to 4 years and loved it. Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides mealsDay care in Bed Stuy/ Clinton Hill
Highly recommend Magic Moments Academy on Fulton and Classon. Our daughter is in 3k there after starting at 9 months old in the baby room in August of 2020. Our son is about to move up and out of the infant room after starting there in September. It has a great parent community and very caring teachers!school/daycare recommendation for 2.5-year-old for current time or January
We have been at Magic Moments Academy (Clinton Hill/Bedstuy border) for the last year and a half and have been really happy. My daughter stands outside school at night greeting other adults as they pickup and trying to go back to school! I am not sure about spots in their 2s program but definitely worth reaching out!Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Daycare, Preschool, 3K, & 4K Review: My daughter currently attends daycare here and she loves it. The community of parents is wonderful, the teachers are incredibly loving, and the owner and her team rallied around us to support our daughter when she had to go through a serious medical procedure that required tons of accommodations on their part. I would pick this place over and over again, but I will say that communication from the owner is not the best. When it comes to things like COVID and serious matters she is 100% on top of it, but if you have random questions you will have to really chase her down for an answer. For me, the pros outweigh that con. What amenities does the facility provide? Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Provides meals for the older children. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? They are very cautious about Covid and super heavy-handed with the protocols (understandably.) They just implemented an on-site testing program for the kids to participate in if parents choose (cheek swabs instead of nose.)Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Daycare, Preschool and 3k/4k Review: Our daughter continues to be challenged and excited to go to school each day and tries to get back into school each night when we leave. Her teachers are so invested and proud of the new words and sentences and growth she shows and are great at sharing them on the app. The parent community is incredibly strong with summer picnics and playground meetups and clothing swaps. What amenities does the facility provide? Provides meals Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? The staff is fully vaccinated and continues to limit how parents enter the facility to reduce crowding, all staff and students and drop off adults are temperature checked. The families have been taking social distancing and masking seriously, after vacation times like thanksgiving are asked to share an additional questionnaire for safety and potential quarantine need. They about to launch a testing program as well.Re: school/daycare recommendation for 2.5-year-old for current time or January

Review: My daughter loves the personalized attention from her teachers from the nickname they call her, to dance parties and art, to circle time where they learn about themes including taste testing foods. Her teachers clearly have a joy for children and it makes her feel loved and want to be there (she regularly asks about her teachers on the weekends!). I would 100% send my daughter again if I had to do over. Facility amenities: What would you change about the program? I would love a meal plan and the program is working to see if it’s a viable option to add it. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? We started in August 2020 and were terrified about the exposure after really interacting with no one for so long. The team was so patient with my “what if” scenario questions ahead of time and the fear quickly melted away within a day or two of bringing my daughter. When talking to the teachers during the year, you could tell they were doing everything they could to keep themselves and the community safe and I felt the need to do the same! We took the daily attestations and requirements to isolate after any trips (we didn’t take any) quite seriously, as did other families!Daycares in the neighborhood
My son goes to Magic Moments on Fulton & Classon. He loves it there! They update their app throughout the day with pictures & updates so I really feel like I know what he’s doing all day. Great communication & covid protocols.day care recommendations?
We are very happy with Magic Moments Academy on Fulton b/w Franklin and Classon. That is probably pushing your definition of Prospect Heights, but I am happy to tell you more if it isn't.Review from the 2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool Survey
My child has been here for nearly 18 months (since she was 6 months old). She loves it - excited to go to school and comes home happy/exhausted. We have seen her flourish and develop - many skills specifically tied to activities and exercises in the classroom. DETAILS: Has an indoor play space for rainy daysReview from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
My child (18 months old) always seemed very comfortable there and I’ve liked all the teachers that he’s worked with. I like that they have a variety of different activities that they rotate through (water table, edible play dough, music class, etc.). The owner is pretty organized and communicative with parents. My one major criticism is that they have had a lot of turnover in the last year. I know high turnover is common in a Daycare setting but it has seemed particularly high to me. About the facility: Has early morning hours, They have refrigerators in every room so I was able to bring frozen breast milk and half gallons of whole milk. I didn’t have to prepare bottles.
