Considering a night-nurse or baby nurse
We used a baby nurse through Lullaby Baby and we LOVED her. We were in a similar situation- had a toddler at home and less help. Is your toddler going to be home with you and the newborn? Mine was not so we decided to do nights only, 5pm-8am Sunday-Thursday for 20 nights (a month). I would HIGHLY recommend the agency (they waive the fee for PSP members), you can interview nannies and they negotiate fees. My friend hired someone (through Lullaby) and negotiated an AMAZING deal for 24 hour care that ended up being cheaper than what we paid for nights only (we paid $180/night, she is paying $150/day). It was such a pleasure having someone to take care of the newborn's needs so that I could have time with my toddler. I was nursing so she would bring me the baby when she woke up throughout the night, change her diaper, etc. so I just fed her and went back to sleep.Night nurse recomendations?
I got my baby nurse from Lullaby as well. She (Josephine-owner) can send a few candidates your way or you can talk to them on the phone and vet them prior to meeting them. I like to know how many infants they have worked on so I can gage experience level. The ones I spoke to had at least a new contract starting every 2 months so about 6 babies a year. There’s also no fee when you say you are a member of Park Slope Parents. You just pay the nanny wages.Night nurse recomendations?
I just had a baby too and we have a night nurse through Lullaby Agency. She is relatively reasonable (180/night) but it’s been worth it! I am nursing so she just brings me the baby to feed and then takes her back, changes her, and puts her back down. The email address for the agency is lullabyabc@gmail.com. Let me know if you have any other questions!Night nurse recommendations?
