  • Review from the 2021 Therapist Survey

During what time span have you seen this therapist? 2018 4 sessions Type of therapist: Psychologist, Child Psychologist What kind of patients does this therapist see? Older Children (pre-teens), Younger Children, Teens, Adults (individual therapy) If the therapist treats any special kinds of issues or uses specific therapeutic techniques, please list/describe those here. In-person, Zoom, or telephone therapy? Zoom/Video therapy, In-person therapy Briefly describe the reasons you decided to seek help: Our child had a bad nanny. Our child started to act out and say inappropriate things. Does the therapist take insurance, and if not, how has your experience been with filing claims? We were out-of-network. She was helpful in providing form to submit for reimbursement. Review: Lois was great. We wanted to ensure the bad nanny didn't do any lasting damage to our child. Lois spent a few sessions to make a determination.
  • Therapist for my mother

My daughter has seen Lois Abramchik in the past, and I have talked to her a few times myself. She is a smart, compassionate & no-nonsense woman who I think would be perfect for an older woman. She's really wonderful. Here's her info: 779 Carroll StBrooklyn, NY 11215(718) 788-2624 (Office)
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] Therapist for 13-year-old

Sorry to hear about your family's struggles. My 13yo has been having some dark teenage thoughts herself, and I took her to see Lois Abramchik, a wonderful therapist who works with a lot of children (my daughter also saw her for a few months some years ago). Lois is incredibly smart and compassionate and calming; I highly recommend her.
  • Re: [PSP] Re: [ANONYMOUS] Trauma Therapist

Locally (on Carroll Street), though you will have to submit your own insurance claim, Lois Abramchik (am LCSW) is wonderful. One of her areas of focus is trauma, and she works with a lot of kids. I wholeheartedly recommend her, and wish you all the best.
  • ISO: Child Psychologist

I would like to recommend Lois Abramchik on Carroll Street. My daughter saw her a few years ago when she was going through a rough patch, and Lois was amazing. She sees lots of kids, and trauma is one of her areas of focus.
  • Review from 2013 Therapist Reviews Survey

We are grateful for Lois' therapy Brent as a couple for two years and she helped us with communication and dealing with our feelings as a couple. Would still go to her except we just had a baby two months ago so child are for therapy isn't happening yet. Definitely recommend her for individual or couples Insurance Issues We had to fill out claims ourselves and pay her up front

Try Lois Abramchik on Carroll Street. I took my daughter to her 2 years ago to help her through a separation trauma, and Lois quickly gained her trust and was incredible with her. I talked to Lois myself several times. She is easy to be with and very wise, and I would avail myself of her services again in a heartbeat if needed, for me or for my daughter.

I took my daughter last year to see Lois Abramchik, whose office is on Carroll Street btw 7th & 8t. Lois specializes in trauma and sees a lot of kids. I don’t know if she has particular expertise with domestic violence, but it would be worth a phone call to find out. My daughter saw Lois for about 7 months — not for a true trauma, but over a very difficult, changing family situation — and Lois was amazing with her. Both of us grew to trust her very quickly, and I wouldn’t hesitate to send anyone to her or to see her myself if I felt the need. Recommended May 2010
