Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey
Location: Ditmas Park How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 Review: Our son LOVED this summer camp, which was a nice surprise for us. We weren’t sure what to expect; we only picked this camp because it was an affordable option that worked well with our uncertain summer travel plans. They had tons of fun activities- field trips, science shows, bubble parties, tai chi, kite-making, magician shows. Our son was really excited to get there early each day, and he was sad whenever he needed to miss a day. They provided all meals and use an app for messaging and to share photos. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? It would have been nice to have more of an introduction to the teachers for the parents, but maybe this isn’t done for summer campsLittle Scholars Daycare Reviews/Feedback?
Little Scholars is more of a pre-school - it is for 2 and up, and generally follows the school year, with kids/programs starting in July or September. I actually had a very poor experience with Little Scholars. Having heard only good things in Facebook neighborhood groups and having spoken with a current parent, we decided to transfer our daughter (then in daycare) when she turned 2. We toured the facility, filled out their paperwork, put down a deposit, and even confirmed a start date before we gave our two months' notice to our daycare. You can probably imagine where I am going with this... they did not have a seat for her; they had overpromised their 2s program, and were so mismanaged they hadn't even realized what they had done until four (!!!!) panicked families in the same boat connected and contacted them. It was very hard to get information from them - to figure out what had happened and what to do. (Her spot at her old daycare was filled immediately). It was a nightmare. They are on their 3rd director since we toured last spring. I don't mean to be disrespectful to any families who send their children there and have had good experiences. I continue to hear of happy kids, lovely teachers, and affordable rates. Luckily, the daycare we were at (Honeydew) has another location in South Slope and we were able to transfer our daughter there. We've always been happy with their director, teachers and programs - our reason to switch to Little Scholars was more logistical/financial.Day care recommendations?
My son goes to little scholars VI on e. 18 and Foster and is in the 3s class. Not sure if that’s convenient for you. He loves it, the teachers and director are great, it’s a new beautiful facility and they have an outdoor area and provide meals etc. We have been there for a year (with a handful of months away) so I’d be happy to answer any questions.3's programs around Brooklyn College?
We just started sending our son to Little Scholars on foster ave and have been happy to far. He’s 26mos — they start at 2y at this location and have different classes for different age groups. It’s a STEM based curriculum.
