Review from the 2024 Daycare & Preschool Survey
We tried more than one daycare and this one was absolutely perfect. We loved it every single day. Zekiye, the owner, runs it along with her husband and other employees. They are so warm, loving, and attentive. The space is extremely clean, there is a separate nap room, the cost is extremely reasonable for the area, and the outside space is great (and the kids go outside all the time). They helped us so much in potty training. I sobbed the day my child left. I still miss it! Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Separate nap room for great naps! What would you change: I loved it so much. I sort of wished the parents could go upstairs and see more (or go to an event annually but the owner is very sensitive to outside germs/cleanliness). The parents did connect via a Whatsapp group which was so nice.Review submitted October 2024
Our child attended Little Flowers from 11 months old until almost 3 years old. Zekiye, the owner, is a patient, kind, loving, amazing human being. There were never any tears at drop off--just a lot of excitement. Zekiye and her team keep the space impeccably clean, including the really nice private outdoor area. The daycare also has a separate nap area; our child came home rested (and smelling like fresh laundry). They take sickness seriously (which means your child is not as likely to get sick from other kids). Zekiye and her team mask whenever something is going around (and masked regularly until mid-2024). We had a tough go with sickness at another daycare, so we were especially grateful for these measures. They also take security seriously (in terms of who can come in and out, pick up etc). Throughout the day, Zekiye is communicative and sends along professional-level photographs! Our child learned letters, numbers, and some sight reading at age 2. We had a rough potty-training journey and Zekiye was so so so so patient and really did the bulk of the work. The parent community at Little Flowers has always been kind and down to Earth (there's a WhatsApp chat). Little Flowers is a very very special place--just the best. We're so glad we found it."Little Flowers Daycare
My son (20 months now) has been in Little Flowers Daycare since last spring, and I could not be happier with how Zekiye and the rest of the staff care for him. I have other daycare/pre K experience with my older child, and Little Flowers is truly special. She is dedicated to the children, loving, and extremely attentive. The daycare is organized, bright, clean, and has an abundance of toys and books. There is an outdoor space in the back, where the kids are frequently seen in the pictures that I receive. She is quick to notice anything that seems off (shorter nap, seems cranky, less hungry at lunch, feels slightly warm, etc.) and sends text updates as needed. It makes me feel so at ease. Even though I am not with my child during the day, I feel at peace knowing he is safe, cared for and loved while I am at work. My son is happy to go to her in the mornings and every time I pick him up. I couldn't ask for more!Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: We love it so much! Zekiye runs it and is one of the kindest souls! She treats each child like her own with love and attention. They plan weekly arts and crafts projects, have birthdays for the kids and plan themed days, like pajama day. They days seem to have a nice structure of activity that give the children the chance to do lots of different things as well as free play. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides mealsLil Polliwogs Daycare

Second Little Flowers! It was the best experience I could have asked for!Yoko's Daycare or other day care recs in South Slope/Greenwood?
I have made this recommendation before, but I will make it again: Little Flowers Daycare on 5thAve btw 16th/Prospect Ave is the best daycare! My younger 2 kids were lucky enough to attend and be cared for by the wonderful owner Zekiye (my youngest is still there until she graduates to Pre-K in the fall) There is private outdoor space, home made meals and the most loving care givers. The community of parents has also been amazing as well.Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: 5th Ave and 16th St Type of facility: Daycare Review: Zekeye, the operator, is an incredible person. Works so hard to ensure the children are happy and healthy while going out of her way for the parents. Sending my daughter was the best decision we've had to make as parents and we would do it again in a heartbeat What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? Took every precaution mandated by the citySouth Slope Daycare Shoutout
I second a shoutout for Little Flowers. Both my children and their cousins are attending or have attended. It is a very special place and we feel lucky to have Zekiye with our children every day. She plans wonderful activities, feeds great food, and works with any sleep schedule. It is a very special place.South Slope Daycare Shoutout
My daughter attended Little Flowers in South Slope (5th Ave Between 16th and Prospect Ave). We were extremely happy with the daycare and owner, Zekiye. She is wonderful- very warm and loving and extremely responsible. She currently has openings for kids 18 months- age 3.5. She feeds the kids healthy foods and the majority of it is organic. She also has a large outdoor space where kids spend a lot of time and even gardens with the kids, which they love! She is also extra vigilant about cleaning during COVID. She does arts and crafts with the kids as well as some music. I highly recommend her daycare!Little Flowers Daycare - Review
I have a 4 year old moving on to pre-K from Little Flowers and a 2 year old who is still there. We love Zekiye so much that we turned down a 3K spot to keep our 2yr old there. My kids are truly happy there and i can feel that they are so loved and safe. The bonds they have with the caregivers and other kids is really special. I feel so lucky and grateful that I found Little Flowers!Little Flowers Daycare - Review
Our now 4 year old was at Little Flowers for 2.5 years and our 2 year old has been there since she was 12 weeks. Zekiye truly is the best there is. If you are looking for a safe and loving environment for your child, this is the place. Little Flowers is located on 5th Ave by Prospect Ave. It is easy to get to and worth the trip (we commute from Sunset Park).Little Flowers Daycare - Review
Words cannot describe our love and gratitude for Little Flowers and Zekiye, the owner and main caregiver. Our child has thrived at Little Flowers for the past 3 years, beginning when he was 10 months old. While we are excited for him to start pre-k, it will be enormously difficult to say good-bye. Our child shares such an authentic and close bond with Zekiye and his friends because of the joyful and safe environment she has created. As a first time parent, I worried about placing my child in a daycare setting. We researched daycares all over Park Slope, and Little Flowers stood out as special. Zekiye is extraordinary. She genuinely loves the children and cares for them as though they were her own family. Her values extend to the other caregivers, who work closely with Zekiye on the days they are there. She deeply cares about meeting the needs of every child, and interacts with them as little individuals, without patronizing them in any way. We always appreciated how she went out of her way to make sure our child felt safe, both emotionally and physically. After all this time, our child continues to get excited to go to Little Flowers and join his “buddies.” Zekiye has been a huge support to our parenting efforts at home, during major developmental adjustments and changes in our child’s routines. In our child’s breastfeeding days, she helped us by keeping a daily log of when he drank my pumped milk. She has adapted his nap routine based on his evolving needs, and early on, when our child’s sleep schedule was more uncertain, Zekiye helped by sharing a log of his naps, too. For potty training, she helped transition him without him feeling self-conscious, and offered encouragement and suggestions for us as parents (she correctly sensed our own anxieties). We have shared such an amazing partnership in supporting our child’s needs together. Healthy and balanced meals and snacks (including fresh fruit and veggies) are always provided. Little Flowers is very careful about kids with allergies, and Zekiye always is open to accommodations to the child’s needs. She makes great efforts to provide meaningful social interactions for the children, such as picnics in the backyard, where we’ve seen many photos of our child and his friends laughing together. Little Flowers has a beautiful, spacious, and bright backyard where the kids get frequent outdoor playtime. There’s even a little garden area where our child has learned about gardening! As for play and activities, Zekiye provides wonderful, developmentally appropriate and sensory-rich toys and materials that engage the children no matter their age. She also facilitates open-ended activities that spark imagination and delightful experiences like Pajama Day and Ice Cream Day. It’s clear that she puts a lot of thought into making these experiences special for the children. We always loved how Little Flowers is such a play-based, joyful learning environment. Zekiye is more than just a caregiver, she has become family to us, and has played a pivotal role in the foundational years of our child’s life, and helped our child feel safe and loved during these often anxious times. I often say that one of the best things that my husband and I have done as parents is send our child to Little Flowers. We love Zekiye and are so grateful for all her extraordinary care and love for our child!Review from the 2020–2021 Daycare, Preschool, Pre-K, and K Survey
Review: We feel lucky to have been able to send both of our kids to Little Flowers since they were 16 and 20 months old. Zekiye and her staff are wonderful and have created a very special environment of play and love. Little Flowers Daycare on 5th Ave and 16th is wonderful! My daughter attends now. Loving, attentive caregivers.Welcome to the NEW 2018 Kids Group!
Jack just started back at Little Flowers Daycare (which we all love) where he has been since he was 6 months old (minus a covid break while we lived up in Massachusetts with family). My sisters kids went there as well. Plan is to put our new one there with Jack after my maternity leave.Shoutout to Little Flowers Daycare!
I have been meaning to post for quite some time, but wanted to say how grateful I am for Little Flowers daycare in South Slope. Zekiye is like a second mother to my daughter and loves each of her kids like they were her own. We joined Little Flowers when my daughter was 13 weeks old. At 26 months my little counts, sings full versions of songs, can identify letters/numbers, and has been 80% daycare potty trained (with little prompting at home). She comes home each day and tells us all about her friends and “Kiye”. If you are looking for an environment where your child will be loved and cared for as if they were with family, this is the place. Little Flowers has taken many precautions regarding COVID to ensure the safety of its families. And I feel completely comfortable bringing my child in.Wonderful Daycare open now-Little Flowers
A whole hearted second recommendation for Little Flowers and Zekiye! I have recommended her daycare before on the listserve and am happy to reiterate again. My son went there before starting pre-school and my daughter is a current attendee. We currently aren’t sending her in because I have two older children who are at home, but I would trust Zekiye completely now as I did pre-pandemic. I feel so lucky our family found Little Flowers.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We secured our spot at Little Flowers months before we needed childcare because we felt so confident with Zekeye. Our daughter is happy at drop off and pick up and seems genuinely excited to be there. Zekeye’s team seem to genuinely love children and she is easy to reach with questions or for feedback on my baby’s developmental leaps. In the warmer months there is an outdoor space. I could not be happier with our choice. About the facility: Has outdoor space What would you change? I am extremely pleased.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We LOVE Little Flowers. Our son started when he was 4 months old, and the staff is so kind and we can tell loves the children in their care. Whenever I saw other children getting dropped off or picked up, everyone was happy (including staff). They were very accommodating if we had a sudden schedule change. I felt like our son was safe and happy in their care. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides mealsReview from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
My son has been at this location from 5 month old and I could not be happier with his care. Zekiye and her staff are so lovely and caring towards all the children! He is always happy to be dropped off and always happy when I pick him up. Zekiye is very receptive to accommodating nap time routines and feedings and always had great feedback about his days. Would recommend this daycare wholeheartedly! About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
My son, now 14 months, has been with Zekiye since he was 3 months old. We could not be happier with the care and love he has received from the whole team at Little Flowers. Zekiye is flexible, detail-oriented, and amazing with infants and toddlers. The group of kids ranges in age and they take care of each other. I feel lucky that my son has been in such a caring community of kids and adults. He is always happy to be dropped off and when we pick him up there is a chorus of “bye bye!” and “I love you” from the care-givers and children.Review for daycare
I'm happy to strongly recommend Little Flowers Daycare Center at 193 5th Avenue (between 16th and Prospect in Park Slope). Zekiye Yagmur recently took over ownership of the daycare (formerly Sunflower Daycare) and has done such a nice job making the space sunny, welcoming, and full of brand new toys for the kids. There's a great outdoor space that they use often. The playrooms are bright and colorful with pictures of animals on the walls. Sadly we've just moved and will no longer see Zekiye, but every morning when I'd arrive with my 18 month old son, there was music playing and Zekiye always greeted us with a smile and genuine excitement to see our little one. The hours are great (8am—6pm), the location is really convenient, and we have truly appreciated the quality of care for Henry. If you are looking for a bright, happy, safe space for your little one, I highly recommend considering Little Flowers Daycare.
