I hired Lisa to help my son with monologue and song preparation before auditioning for the middle school at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). Lisa's coaching was definitely instrumental to his being prepared for the first round of auditions. She helped him by helping him make stronger connections throughout the monologue by guiding him through a moment by moment analysis in a way that he could relate to. She helped him find layers in the piece so that his work was memorable and stood out. Her follow up and follow through helped to further his understanding and confidence in his performance. After two intense auditions, he was one of 32 children awarded a spot at this very competitive program (3400 applied, close to 300 were auditioned). I would highly recommend Lisa for her coaching work!Re: Question
Lisa is the real deal! My daughter had very little acting experience (think a class here and there after school) but had her heart set on Mark Twain and acting. Enter Lisa. With just one session, Lisa was able to tap into my daughter's natural abilities and help her to shine. My daughter walked into the audition with confidence (and butterflies;) and knocked it out of the park! Needless to say, she is a 7th grader in acting at Mark Twain!recc
Lisa was an invaluable help for my 5th grade daughter's drama audition for Mark Twain Middle School. My daughter Rebecca had done some after-school theater classes, but Lisa's coaching brought her to a whole new level. Lisa helped Becca analyze and truly understand the monologue, so that she was really able to make it her own and deliver it with authentic emotions which made a huge difference in her performance. Lisa's manner is enthusiastic and fun, but very focused. In just one two-hour session, she covered literary analysis, body language, vocal expression and audition etiquette. The experience was also really fun for Becca and greatly increased her confidence so that she was excited for the audition, rather than nervous. She scored a 92 on her audition, which was certainly a result of Lisa's focused expertise.
